While shopping for an extra lamp for emergencies, I checked out several types at a local retailer and decided this was the cheapest one that was not an obvious POS. As my review title indicates, build quality is decent, with a reasonably solid handle and switch. Although the lens has an O-ring, this probably should not be taken to mean that the lamp is waterproof because there is nothing on the packaging to suggest that it is. If other lamps of the same general type are any guide, then the weak LED this lamp has will probably run for weeks on end on a set of AA batteries. Yes, it bears repeating that the beam is exceedingly week, enough for me to read by, just barely, or perform other tasks, but nothing more. On the other hand, the handle is well-designed to maximize the usefulness of the light by allowing it to be placed at various angles or even hung upside-down. Not a bad design, really, but it would be much better if it were made weather-resistant and with a LED that puts out more light.

This is a nicely designed and well made product. It feels like a simple design well constructed that will last some time. The problem is its only one LED so the light really is pretty low. To light a small tent its ok but definitely not a room. It also points a bit of a beam vs distributing light evenly even in room mode. The kick stand and hanger is nicely designed.

Only buy if you really do not need a lot of light.

I really wanted this to be a great light, but it it does only an ok job of both tasks: lantern & aimable flashlight. The flashlight spot is very narrow, but not that bright. The lantern mode does not cast much light either. Too bad! I guess it is fairly cheap, so maybe you'll be ok with it. I'm returning it.

A great little light for quick under the hood jobs when pulling out the drop light is just too much trouble. Support keeps it from rolling away (unlike a flashlight) and adjusts to put light where you want it. Also the little pop up hook is real handy. Cool little product at a good price.

Flashlight, lantern, it does the job. It is inexpensive. It has seemed to be efficient in the use of the batteries. I like it. It has a good stand and a hanger.
