I didn't expect much for the price, but this light is bright, easy to mount, and will make a very good task light.

The color of the light is a little too blue/white, and it's definitely on the harsh side for use inside the house, but for the shop or garage, where you want to add a little extra light to the job at hand, these are just what the doctor ordered. The higher wattage models might be too much, and much less light wouldn't do much good, so these seem to strike a nice balance.

As some other reviewers mentioned, the fixture DOES NOT come with a plug, so connecting it to a bench or machine is actually a little easier.

I plan to buy three more for around my shop... maybe a 50watt for the welding table.

When the flood light arrived, a large heavy object was rattling around in the case. I disassembled the case and found that the transformer and the ground wire had never been attached to the housing. I repaired these flaws, but I will also have to replace the power cord as it is way too short at five inches. Additionally the holes in the mounting bracket are much too big.

No instructions at all. Not UL listed. I opened the back and the ground wire was not connected to anything. I would not trust it to be safe. Returned the light.

I read all the reviews and I think most of the early reviews were for a different version of the product. They detached ground wire and the power supply not attached are not even close to how it is now.

The wires are too short and the wrong colors for US houses. A quick eMail to the company got me the info I needed. I have a some tech writing experience and offered to write a sheet of instructions for them for free but was turned down so I'm going to post the most relevant parts here.

This LED spot light has the wires as so:

Yellow/Green to Ground

Brown to Hot

Blue to Neutral

But house wiring is

white neutral wire

green ground

Red or black hot

My solution was to solder on a foot 18 gauge US standard wire colors to the wires on the light. I was going to use wire splices but the smallest ones I had were way too big. The fine wires used with this light are a testament to how low the power draw was. I was too cheap to go out and buy more wire the same gauge as the light uses when I had 18 gauge on had but it dwarfed the wires on the lamp.

Anyway I soldered a green wire to the Yellow/Green, a black wire onto the brown, and a white wire onto the blue one. I sealed the solder joints with heat shrink tube then covered the length of the wires with more heat shrink tube.

Mounting was easy, I used 5/16" carriage bolts and nutted them on the inside. The square shank on the carriage bolts was a good fit to the slots on the bracket.

The best part is the my electric bill has gone down since I used this to replace a similar sized halogen light. The worst part is the color temperature of the light is on the cold side and is too harsh for indoor use. I use this light on a timer over my driveway and it's perfect for that. If the light was a more pleasing temperature, I'd buy several more for use in my workshop but as it is, I'm good with just this one...
