I have owned this light for several years and am very happy with its function. I use it in my bathroom and it adds a nice decorative touch. I really enjoy the soft amber flickering glow. This is not a utility light and will not "light up" an area like a hallway, or even a countertop or sink. In a completely dark room, it will light up its own face-plate, as well as an inch or so border on the wall surrounding it. Mine is plugged into an outlet next to a mirror, so that helps to reflect a bit more light. However, it still will not illuminate anything more than a few inches or so away from it, and even up close, the illumination is wonderfully dim. Some light does come off of it, but it is mainly for decorative purposes. It can, however, be seen from afar. There are several doors in the hall, so I close the others and I leave the bathroom door slightly open for guests, and this light, which can be seen from the hall, is a nice "welcome" into the room.
PROS:
LED (saves, energy, money, and does not get hot)
not overly bright; in fact, perfectly dim
flicker looks almost "real"
IMO, beautiful design
covers whole outlet, almost looks like a sconce (protects other outlet, too)
GOOD TO KNOW:
will not "light up" an area (I like this and have other lights for other areas)
takes up the space of two electrical outlets (I like this feature, but might not work for other users)
ambient light sensitive (turns on if no light in area, dims if some light in area, will not turn on if brighter light in area) cool feature, but the light is so pretty that I kinda would like it on all the time. However, this auto-off feature does save energy and extends the life of the bulb.
Light makes me happy and this one makes me especially happy. When I walk past my bathroom, I feel like inside is an old medieval castle, sans rats, drafts, and invaders. It makes me smile :)

For comparison, I also have:
Cooper Lighting HS8 90-Degree Motion-Activated Night Light
AmerTac 73092CC LED Motion-Activated Nite Lite
Mr. Beams MB852 Wireless Motion Sensing LED Under Cabinet Light, White, 2-Pack
Mr. Beams MB723 Battery-Powered Motion-Sensing LED Stick-Anywhere Nightlight, 3-Pack
Among several other LED lighting products (bulbs, lanterns, flashlights, headlamps, outdoor, ribbon, etc).
At this point, it's hard to say which area/nightlight in this list is my favorite, as it depends on the application. I really like the Cooper Lighting HS8, for its high brightness and soft fade off feature. The AmerTac 73092cc (both styles listed together on Amazon) are nice because they are not too bright, but each light up a short hall in my home, offering increased safety, and since they plug-in, I don't have to think about batteries. The Mr Beams MB852 is super bright and great as a "utility" light or in a closet or pantry. The MB723 is nice because the light can be easily "directed" and it's not quite as bright as the MB852's. Plus, it has a light-detection feature, so if there's other light, it won't activate. It's nice to have battery operated lights, for areas where no outlet is available. I have bought several Mr Beams products and have been happy with all of them.
I believe lighting is very important, for safety, decoration, function, convenience, and when done properly, beauty! Just like we are taught to use the right tool for the job, we need to use the right lighting for the job!

This is a beautifully made "authentic looking" nightlight, and does not have a "plastic" look to it at all. Also, unlike most LED lighting, it does not have a "ghostly blue glow." The lighting is a soft amber/orange with a "realistic" flickering candle. According to the manufacturer, it operates on pennies a year, which makes it very energy efficient. It looks lovely in my home. I would recommend this item to anyone.Best Deals for GE 11258 Nightlight LED Candle Plastic Faux Bronze Finish Auto
This night light is so pretty, but it does not give off enough light for the intended purpose -to add some light to a dark hallway.Honest reviews on GE 11258 Nightlight LED Candle Plastic Faux Bronze Finish Auto
I saw this light at Walmart and loved it. I knew it would go great with my decor, and was excited about replacing a US Navy nightlight I've been using in my bedroom for years. Unfortunately, it's just not very practical. After getting it out of the package and plugging it in I discovered that it takes up an entire outlet. I assumed (like most night lights) that I would plug this into the top plug, and that would leave the bottom plug available...not so. The prongs of this light are just below the midway point of the back of the light. The light as a whole is the exact same size as an entire outlet. There's no way of getting around it...wherever you plug this in, it will take up the whole outlet. That just doesn't work in my bedroom. The plug that holds my nightlight also has a fan plugged into it, which I can NOT sleep without. Moving it would have required an extension cord (all other plugs are located behind furniture...just too much trouble.
As it turns out, this wouldn't have worked anyway since the light is so dim. This WILL NOT light an entire room...even a small room. I finally placed it in the hall, and I'm shocked at how weak it is. The only place this light would be good for is in a small or narrow hall, or a small bathroom. It's a shame...I really love the look of this light, but between the weak light, and taking up an entire outlet, I am very disappointed.
