This is your standard metal-cased fluorescent fixture. I used them as under-cabinet lights and they are working just fine. They come on instantly and there is no flicker from the lamps or hum from the cases. The lamp covers fit securely (unlike the last ones I bought). They are nice and compact which is great for keeping them hidden, but makes it a little difficult to tuck all of the wiring and wire nuts back into the case. This won't be a real issue unless you are wiring multiple sets in parallel. Even then, it's doable with a little patience.
I'm happy with them and you can't beat the price.

This light is okay. Not that great looking but it goes under the counter so who cares. I just do not like the feel of it, seems cheaply made.

Great light for the price. Comes w/ cool white 4100 bulb. I replaced w/ warm approx 2700 kelvin. That particular bulb, T5 I think,is not expensive.
