BATTERY LIFE DEPENDS ON HOW MUCH USE YOU HAVE OF THE DRAWER, I INSTALLED ONE ON THE TOP OF MY REFRIGERATOR. SOMETIMES THE DOOR DOES NOT SHUT ALL THE WAY ... BUT SHUTS ENOUGH TO TURN OFF THE INSIDE 25 WATT BULB. WITH THS PRODUCT I SEE IMEDIDEATELY IF MY REFIG.DOOR IS SLIGHTLY AJAR SO I CAN CLOSE IT IMMEDIATELY. IT WOULD COST $150 TO REPLACE THE DOOR SEAL THIS WAS WELL WORTH IT.

INSTALLING IN DRAWERS TAKES TIME TO MEASURE CLEARENCE AND POSITIONING SO LIGHT DOES NOT STAY ON ALL THE TIME DUE TO THE MAGNET BEING MOUNTED TOO FAR AWAY. ITS BEST TO REMOVE SMALL DRAWERS AND MOUNT THE LIGHT WHERE YOU WANT IT. THEN USE SUPERGLUE OR DOUBLE STICK TAPE TO INSTALL MAGNET.SCREWING IT IN PLACE IS A TRICK IF YOU DONT PREDRILL PILOT HOLES ... A WASTE OF TIME AND BATTERY LIFE. MAKE SURE YOU DO NOT PULL OUT THE TAB ON THE LIGHT UNTIL INSTALATION IS COMPLETE. AND REMEMBER MOUNT THE LIGHT SO YOU CAN REPLACE THE BATTERIES WITHOUT STANDING ON YOUR HEAD.

Purchased a warm white version of this LED flood, installed this to replace a 90Watt Par38 type conventional flood light. It had a surprisingly wide throw and nearly matches the intensity of the old build close enough that for 1/6 the energy use I am satisfied. I may buy more of these.

*** UPDATE 5 weeks later it works great. Light output is good, high quality, satisfying color. I do not miss the old 120 watt filament PAR flood bulb I used to use at all.

Inside of this bulb there is a wafer that the LED's are attached to. This LED wafer is attached to the heat sink with a screw. The problem is that the slot that the screw is supposed to attach to is not a machine threaded slot. And the screw is way too short and there is only one of them holding the wafer to the heat sink. What this results in is there really ISN'T anything securely fastening the LED wafer to the heat sink. The bulb is also just put into a box (approx. size of the bulb) with nothing to really protect it (especially for shipping). Oh.. the box was then put into a bigger box that had airbags and such to protect the smaller box the bulb is in, but nothing within the smaller box to really protect the bulb during shipping. My bulb arrived with the plastic covering fallen off and the LED wafer just rattling around. I found the tiny screw in the larger Amazon box.. but since there is nothing to actually thread the screw into (except the mentioned non-threaded slots), I could not securely fasten the wafer to the heat sink.

All it would take would be to have the slots machine threaded (there are actually three of them) and then use appropriate screws (3) to attach the wafer to the heat sink. This would add minuscule cost to the bulb. For a bulb that is STILL $33 dollars.. this is unacceptable. I might expect this from a bulb made in someone's garage who's selling if for less than $10 bucks, but this looks like a bulb made in someone's garage who's still trying to get a high premium out of it. I'm returning it, and I do not recommend this bulb.

Okay, I couldn't wait any longer for LED lights in my recessed fixtures. Attempts with the lower cost bulbs had disappointing results. I tried these after reviewing the quantity of LED segments and wattage comparision to the lumens. These are really bright lights & spread out the light well from a recessed fixture. They lit up the room much better when compared to the narrow view (beam) angle of other LED lights that created shadow areas in between fixtures. Note: this part number does not work with X10 remote light controls, so Amazon helped me to exchange with the 'dimming' version of the same bulb Dimmable PAR38 16 Watt LED Wide Angle Flood Light Standard Screw Base. Amazing how much light and not hot to the touch, so sure to save money electricity use both on lighting and also less air conditioning load from cooler operating temperature bulbs.

Honest reviews on LEDwholesalers PAR38 14 Watt Wide Angle Non-dimmable Flood Light

Bulbs received from Amazon (supplier is LowerPriceUSA) very under packaged, rattled in box when received. When installing noted that height (distance from emitting face to threaded base) was much shorter than bulb dimensions on product page and actual bulb did not visually match picture on this item. Tried to turn the light on, bulb did not light. Thinking I had a broken item, I removed it and prepared the items for return to Amazon while taking photo of the unit I noticed a sticker stating that the bulb was 220V, not 110V which is US household standard voltage.

To recap:

1) bulb received poorly packaged;

2) wrong dimension (too short);

3) wrong voltage rating, 220V instead of 110V

Amazon, please be a little more discerning in your suppliers. This was total amateur hour on a $200+ light bulb order.

This order is coming back to you.

this bulb emits not warm light (it is blueish) and the brightness barely competes with a 50W traditional bulb. it is dimmable in the sense that it does not break when dimmed, it reduces maybe 20% then it turns off.

this is just an expensive joke!

I don't leave many reviews, and I don't think I have ever left a negative one, but everyone should be warned about this product. It's a great idea, but horrible quality. One of the magnets came off within the first five minutes after I got it out of the package. The design is cool, and if it was manufactured properly I would give it four or five stars. As it is, I am returning it right now, and I won't consider purchasing a risk-racing product again until I see evidence that they have addressed their manufacturing issues.

I like the battery container as it really holds the batteries firmly.

However, the contacts from the holder do not seem to contact the circuit board firmly enough. Several times I had the light turn off and require a whack to get it working again. Every time this happened, I had jarred the light (one time it was just moving it so that a different set of magnets attached to alter the angle.)

To solve the problem, I placed a small piece of foam between the battery container and the battery cover. This adds enough force on the leads that seems to keep them in contact. From the looks of the back side of the battery cover, there might have been supposed to be something there to do just this.

In any case, handy light when you need to get light into someplace a regular flashlight just does not sit right.

I pushed the red button, like the instructions say, and the white light came on. Ive pushed the button several times and Now the light won't go off. After removing the batteries a couple of times, the light still remains on. The red light never even came on. Took batteries out and threw it away. Waste of good money.

I have track lighting in my kitchen and boy were they HOT!!! Temperature, that is, and I purchased these bulbs hoping for a more cool environment. Not only were these bulbs cooler in temperature, they are also more bright than my original lights. Great product, fantastic price!

Edit: 2 burnt out after a year. Still very satisfied with them. Got 4 more.

6 of the bulbs in our track lights burnt out after 2 years. We went to Home Depot to look for replacements and they have the standard GE ones 6 for $25.00. The life was 2000 hours only. These are rated for 3500 hours and cost less than Home Depot. These are also a little brighter and just a little whiter. They are not LED white which is fine by me. I like the warmer color.

I bought these to replace some lights that went out in a place I just moved into. I hunted around and found this to be the best deal I could find: 3500 hours, bright bulbs, awesome price. I noticed when I replaced the old bulbs that they said "UV filter" on the face of the bulb. So I'm a little confused. Are these lights UV filtered? Is a UV filter even needed?

I'v been using GU10 bulbs for the past 10 years on the same lamp fixture, so I have tried all. Feit seems to be among the worst one. I thougth since they were Xenon they would last longer but they only last about 9 months. The packaging said they should last 3,500 hours that is a lie. I would rate them as:

1. GE (long lasting Halogen)= about 1.5 years

2. Phillips & GE (Halogen regular)= 9-12 months

3. Feit (Xenon) = 9 months

4. Feit (Halogen) and other generic brands at Home Depot and Lowes= 3-6 months

There was one Home Depot Generic brand in the mid 2000 that had a frosted lens lasted about 12 months.

I guess you get what you pay for, and with GE and Phillips their Average Lifetime rating seems to be true.

One could argue that the bulb life could be affected by the filament material, whether it runs hot or cold, voltage stability, whether I have exactly 115V at the fixture, power surges, etc. but what I have experienced on the same lamp fixture for over ten years is the high quality (expensive) name brands consistently last longer.

I was tired of tapping my hardwired under-cabinet lights with wet or messy hands while cooking, baking, or preparing any kind of food over my counters. Even more annoying the under cabinet lights built with my kitchen have three settings. The first tap is very dim I cant see anything so I have to tap the lights again for the bright setting, but if I accidentally tapped to fast they lights would go to off (setting #3). They were nice at first but the appeal quickly wore off because I was unhappy with the functionality. Plus I think they are halogen, not LED.

The options in the wireless under cabinet lighting arena are fairly limited. Most of the lights you have to tap, click, or wave your hands right under the light to again be disappointed with the light output. I tried a few including the hockey puck Dragon Light by Sylvania, They weren't for me so they were returned to Stop and Shop.

I have a few Mr Beams lights for the backyard so naturally I was curious as to how these would perform, WOW. I can see and I have light exactly when I need it without having to touch anything, make a mess, or shake hands with the invisible man under my cabinets. When you approach the counter or even the middle of your kitchen the lights will turn on after sensing your motion. I can walk up to the sink to wash my hands or do the dishes and I don't have to turn any lights on. I can use the cutting board and have enough light to prepare food. These lights are small but they pack a serious punch in the light department.

The other part I thoroughly enjoy are their sleek look. I had visitors over last night and they asked "Where did you get those!?!" extra cool points for me. They have a nice wow factor.

I could see how these might also be useful in workshops, laundry rooms, in the pantry, under a desk, in drawers....the list could go on and on they are very thin and can fit nearly anywhere.

Amazon has a picture of one light next to and iphone, the length is almost identical to an iphone. I would say the height is about the size of one iphone on top of another, so pretty thin. They don't look bulky or anything. That should give you roughly an idea of the look before you buy.

There are two different ways you can mount these, I chose the double sided tape. The tape is very strong I can practically hang from the ceiling myself with it. They aren't going anywhere.

Overall I give this one an A+. You wont be disappointed!

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program What a good idea. These lights work on batteries 4 AA each. They can be mounted with screws (included) or double sided tape (also included). You can set them for a short time on by an internal switch and also by placing the sensor in front or back how sensitive it is for motion. They are easy to install, with the exception of sliding the cover off and on, but it gets easier, each time it is done.

The obvious place to use them is under kitchen cabinets for more light. We have used one for a dark corner where the coffee maker is a great help early in the morning; but there are so many other possibilities under a bathroom cabinet over a sink might be one and then the place we used ours. We have a media cabinet where I literally have put a flashlight in order to see what the settings for recording programs and working with the various gizmos down there are. Well with this under the shelf... voila as soon as my hands go under to put in a DVD or try to set recording time there is light wonderful!

Best Deals for Mr. Beams MB852 Indoor Wireless Slim LED Light with Motion Sensor

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program Originally I gave this item 4 stars, but both lights have stopped working after a few weeks.

It will start saying on for a long time, when it is supposed to only stay on about 20 or 30 seconds. And when it does go off, it will stay off for 2 or 3 seconds then come back on again for another long time. The result is that it is on most of the time and will use up your batteries.

P.S. Even the replacement products that were sent to me quit working. I DO NOT recommend this product. You will be sorry if you spend money on this product.

Honest reviews on Mr. Beams MB852 Indoor Wireless Slim LED Light with Motion Sensor

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program Contrary to the many popular reviews I found this product to be seriously lacking in the quality control department. I used these lights under kitchen cabinets to illuminate two dark areas in the kitchen. The installation is very quick and the double sided tape that can be used (rather than the screws that are provided) was the ONLY redeemable quality. The tape is extremely sticky and will securely hold this product in place so be sure of your placement once you're ready to install because you'll probably NOT be able to switch placement once it's in place.

The down side (and there were many) when the product was initially installed, I noticed that each of the lights would illuminate for differing times. There is a switch to have the lights illuminate for 20 seconds (minimum setting) or 60 seconds (maximum setting). I switched both of mine to the max setting and neither would illuminate for 60 seconds when it would sense motion. It always illuminated for far less than 60 seconds therefore I'd be working on the countertop and the lights were constantly flickering on and off at differing intervals. My lights were placed about 3 feet apart so I thought that when I'm centered between the lights doing kitchen prep work, they'd be sensing equal amounts of motion and stay on. Unfortunately, this didn't happen. I also noticed that one unit seemed to be much more sensitive than the other. Later (and I'm talking about 1-week), the unit that was LESS sensitive wouldn't turn off and it completely drained the batteries in very short order. Each light requires 4 AA batteries which gets rather expensive to operate if the batteries need changed once a week (I was using Duracell Copper top batteries). According to the directions, the batteries will last around 40-hours therefore when a unit doesn't shut off it won't take long for the batteries to drain. Furthermore, when the batteries are being depleted, the light that is being emitted gets dimmer and dimmer so you eventually end up with a gray beam of light.

I thought this was a great concept and was excited to give the product a whirl however after replacing the batteries in both units in less than 10-days, I've decided to relocate these lights to the garage area with instructions for my husband to use them ONLY with rechargeable batteries. Regardless of where you use these lights rechargeable batteries are highly encouraged.

This product simply was not what I was looking for in my kitchen so I'm back to looking for wired under cabinet lighting.

I put one on under each cabinet on the sides of he sink area. Those areas were shaded from the light over the sink, and if you were standing there working beside the sink, your body shaded the light from the kitchen lights. Now even in the dark, when I approach the sink, two nice lights come on and flood the counter tops. I just ordered 2 more for the shop and humm,,,.

I own several different kinds of LED flashlight, and this is my favorite model. It will work with either one 3.7V 18650 battery or two 3V CR123A batteries. My WF-501B is a 900 lumen model. To select through the modes, just tap the clickie button at the back; don't push it all the way in. It took me a while to get that figured out.

The beam from this flashlight doesn't have an annoying tight spot with a wide, more dimly lit peripheral area. The bright part is bigger, so you can see more of what you're looking at better. That's the main reason that I like this flashlight better than the others I've tried.

The only (mild) complaint that I have about this flashlight is that the end cap, which you remove to replace the battery, isn't smartly milled in the screw-on threads. As the result, you have to push against the spring while aligning the cap by eye, and it can be a little difficult to get the cap back on. If you want to see an end cap that has much better-milled threads, check out the Romisen RC-B12. That's not a major issue though.

Using one recently charged 18650 battery (UltraFire 3.7V 3000mAh), the beam from the flashlight (on the brightest mode) will stay very bright for about 90 minutes, after which there will be a slow decline in brightness over the next five hours or so. At the end of the 6.5 hours, the battery will probably be about pooped out, with a voltage under load of about 3.0V. So even if you use the bright mode continually, you should get enough light to see your immediate surroundings (at least) for maybe five or six hours.

Of course, to save on battery power, you should use the low intensity beam most of the time. I haven't tested, yet, how long the battery will last if you use only the low intensity beam.

Added 10 February 2012. Since this review first appeared, I have found other flashlights that I like better than this one. I still like the Ultrafire 501b, but these are even better (in my opinion):

Trustfire Z3 with zoomie lens.

Romisen RC-T601.

Romisen RC-E4.

Ultrafire WF-502b.

Keygos pro-series Z16 with zoomie lens.

All of these flashlights have the 5-mode XML T6 LED, although the Romisen RC-E4 had to be upgraded with it. All of them use 18650 li-ion batteries, one each, except for the Keygos, which uses two.

And my EveryDay Carry (EDC) flashlight is an UltraOK VS-O5 with a three-mode Q5 LED.

Other users seem to have good luck with this flashlight, so I hoped for the best. When I got it, I tried it out and WOW was it bright. My flashlight is 230 lumens, and this one blew it out of the water. I gave it 2 stars because if the thing actually worked it would be a definite keeper! However, my particular flashlight was a big flop.

After testing it out briefly inside, I gave it a test run on my bike flashlight holder, set it to high, and 100 feet down my road it suddenly went dark. I saw the faintest light still coming out, but there was nothing I could do to revive this light (half press to cycle through the modes, or full press on and off

When I got back home, I recharged the batteries, but could no longer get the back cap on, I believe the back cap failed similar to another reviewer here. I consider myself a handy guy mechanically, having replaced the engine, transmission, and suspension in my car, this flashlight was a total failure.

I recieved a flashlight that had 2 catastrophic failures within the first half day of testing.

Thankfully I have a good Fenix flashlight as a backup. That brand I would recommend without hesitation; they cost a little more, but a much better value for quality of construction and 'smart' led control so the intensity of the light stays constant for the life of the charge.

If you're tempted to try this light out, I'd say go for it! If you get one that works, you'll get a great light. If yours doesn't work, amazon will pay for return shipping, and you've lost nothing.

CREE XML T6 Bicycle Headlight LED 3 Files 1200 Lumens

Best Deals for DB POWER WF 501b Cree Xml T6 3 Mode Cree Led Flashlight 900 Lumens

My light has a defective rear tail-cap switch. When the tail cap is screwed on completely, the light will not operate at all. Unscrewing the tail cap about 2/3 of the way will allow the switch to operate about 50% of the time. Another turn or two and the tail cap comes off.

This is totally unreliable and unacceptable. Unfortunately, the seller requires a 15 day return period and I didn't get to test the light until 2 weeks after it arrived resulting in a total waste of my money.

When the unit actually emits light it is a very bright, very broad, pattern best described as a flood light and not a spot light. The 220 Lumen Dorcy 49-4299 or 300 Lumen MXDL CREE illuminate a target at 125 yards far better than this "900 Lumen" UltraFire. For work at close ranges (10 to 40 yards) this light illuminates a broad area with a clean white light.

Testing the light against white double garage doors on a moonless night reveals some minor shadows, defects, and "ghosts" in the pattern but nothing too bad, especially given the short range flood light nature of the product.

I do not have the test equipment to verify UltraFire's claim of 900 lumens, but I very much doubt it. Comparing this light to many "big name" brands such as Streamlight, Pelican, Dorsey, Fenix, MagLite, Surefire, etc. I can't see that it is any brighter than their 200~300 lumen models.

Of course none of that matters when the switch is defective and the light doesn't work. Other reviewers have had better luck but quality control is obviously an issue with this unit.

05-SEP-11 UPDATE: After disassembling (not simply unscrewing it) the tail-cap/switch assembly and putting everything back together the switch started working normally with the tail cap fully screwed on. I've not unscrewed the tail-cap since for fear it will stop working again... once the battery runs out, I will be forced to try my luck. I've increased my rating from 1 star to 2. No customer should have to repair a brand new product. At this point, I have little confidence in this light and wouldn't count on it for life/death situations. If it continues to work correctly after several battery changes, I'll increase the rating again to 3 stars.

25-FEB-12 UPDATE: I've used this unit now for nearly 6 months after finally getting it to work. After the first battery change, the switch acted up again but removing the tail cap, messing with the spring, and reinstalling it has worked flawlessly ever since, even through several more battery swaps. Since it HAS been working, I've used it a lot around the home and ranch. I've decided it is ideal for in-house and close (up to ~ 50 feet) work outside. I'm raising my rating to 3-stars, but will not go any higher due to all the initial problems.

I would agree with other reviewer that the light seems to be in the 3300K range. The bulbs are dimmable but I notice a low volume humming noise when operated below full power. I may not notice the noise over time but perhaps now that I know it exists I may be listening for it. If you plan to dim the bulb and you are sensitive to noise I would look at other options.

It worked out fine, although it's a little tight for our piano lamp, because of the plug wire location inside the lamp.Other than that, it works great. Hopefully it will outlast a standard bulb by a long time.

The lights at the end of the driveway kept burning. My brother thought it might be the rain on the hot bulbs were burning them. We thought we would try LED lights being they don't get hot. I've had this for about a month and no more burning bulbs. These bulbs are fantastic when you need to put them outside in the elements.

Honest reviews on E27 5.5W Warm White 110V 3528 112 LED Corn Light Bulb Lamp

The lamp arrived directly from China in 17 days (to Northeastern US). Seems a little cheaply made, but all LEDs function OK. It is roughly equivalent to a 40-watt incandescent light bulb, so a side-by-side comparison was made. It was about half the diameter but longer than the 40W bulb. It was slightly brighter than the 40W bulb (roughly 500 vs 550 lumens). Compared to the soft-white 40W bulb the LED color was somewhat cooler, but still "warm" (approximately 3300K). After 5 minutes of operation a non-contact surface temperature was taken; the 40W bulb measured 260F while the LED lamp was 140F. Assuming a reasonably long service life, this should be a good replacement for a 40W light bulb.

Now I know they don't make things like they used to, but an LED light bulb should last longer than ONE night!!! Thinking the issue was isolated to a single bulb, I placed a second bulb in the same fixture the following night only to find it burnt out the following morning. I've used other LED 'Corn' type bulbs in this fixture before with success, so am convinced these bulbs are duds. Buyer beware...

A few years ago I thought to get one of these for hikes, night photography, and simply having a lightweight flashlight in my camera bag or for when the power goes out. I read up on them, found Petzl to be the best, and yet the complaints were that the Petzl model at the time had only one brightness setting, didn't tilt, wasn't water resistant, and had no red filter. A year later Petzl came out with this model, and everything had been fixed to perfection.

Needless to say, I got one and loved it. For those new to LED headlamps, what's great about them is they leave your hands free and you never have to think about aiming the light. If the power's out, and you're tying your shoes and then looking under a cupboard and carrying out blankets, the light is always right where you need it.

Also, for walking at night, a flashlight will light up just a pizza-size spot in the middle of the road, but this headlamp casts a wide swath of light completely across a small road, so you don't have to scan for fallen limbs or porcupines everything is lit up evenly and it's much easier finding your way about.

The only downside to having the lamp right over your eyes is when it's foggy or snowing, since it lights up everything right in front of your face. But simply take it in hand, as a very light flashlight, or attach it to your belt, and all is well again. In fact, it works so that you can press the button in for when you want to check something, and then let it go and it'll go off. Much better than clicking through the four brightness settings time and again.

So I loved using this headlamp, and then I accidentally dropped it in salt water when kayaking. Not recommended. The directions actually say you can wash it out with fresh water and dry it, but I didn't get to it for a couple of days, and it had of course corroded.

Well, I had to order a new one, and what do you know it came with a little sticker on it that says, "New LED Technology, +80%." What was this about?

I dug out the specs, and sure enough, they boosted the reach from 17m (at Maximum brightness) to 32m. And not only that, but they extended the battery life at Maximum from 80 to 100 hrs. In short, the Maximum setting on my old one is now the Economical setting and lasts twice as long. You can really see the difference the Maximum setting lights up a yard and the red filter is now bright enough to hike by, when before it was best for reading or up-close work.

Way to go, Petzl.

I've only had a chance to use the Tactikka Plus on one 6 mile run. So far I like it very much. It's very lightweight, comfortable and stays in place. Some of the roads I run on are very well lit while others are almost completely dark. I wanted a light that was bright enough for me to see in the dark places even after my eyes had adjusted to the street-lit areas. The packaging for mine did not have the "80% Brighter" sticker that I have seen on similar new Petzl equipment so I wondered if it was going to work well for me. It did. Even at the low setting it was bright enough for me to see potholes and dips in the road. The light covers a wide area and reaches far enough in front that I don't "outrun" it. The switch is easy to use. The adjustable angle housing is essential for dialing in exactly where you want the light pointed without having to hold your head at a weird angle.

The headband does soak up sweat and it did take a few hours to dry out. I don't know if anything can be done to improve this.

Overall, I would recommend it to others. I would also check out the Princeton Tec Quad. It looks to be nearly identical but it is cheaper. It trades the flip up red lens on the Petzl for a waterproof housing.

*** UPDATE ***

I've now had this headlamp for 5 months and use it many times per week. Everything I liked about it initially I still like. For no apparent reason the lamp now will not turn off. Instead it goes into an ultra dim mode that you may not notice at first but continues to drain the batteries. I have not dropped or physically damaged the light. I've tried new batteries twice. Then I sent the lamp back to Petzl at my expense for their review. Customer service was excellent and prompt. They sent me a new lamp but unfortunately it is a Tactikka instead of a Tactikka Plus which means it only turns on or off. This is a shame because I use the lamp almost exclusively in the low setting.

While my old lamp was being evaluated I used a Princton Tec Fuel. Unfortunately for Petzl even though this lamp has only three LED's it is an improvement over my Tactikka plus in every way except comfort. It is only slightly less comfortable to wear and the flood pattern is better (it has more of a spotlight in the center with a wider flood light on the sides). I ended up never using the red flip up filter on the Tactikka Plus because I wanted to make sure oncoming traffic could see me easily. I'll be using the Fuel instead of the Tacktikka now.

This is a great headlamp. I bought this light primarily to do turtle watching since the leatherback turtles do not see the colour red. However, I soon other uses for it, like hiking and reading star maps without losing my night vision for star gazing.

The four LEDs are great. The three light settings are great since you can choose the right amount of light for the situation. The emergency flashing light feature is great if you get into trouble and need to attract attention to where you are.

I especially like the fact that the red filter is attached to the light and can pivot into place when you need it. Won't be losing any more filters from now on. The head band is adjustable and made of a comfortable material so you can keep it on for long periods.

Overall this is a great light and comes with batteries.

Honest reviews on Petzl TacTikka Plus 4-LED Headlamp

overall, this headlamp is designed well and operates well. the only two complaints i have is with the red filter. when the red lens cover is snapped over the white leds, there is a small light gap and not all red light is seen. also, its very challenging to find the tab in which enables you to add/ remove the red lens. if you plan on using this primarily for the red light, i wouldn't recommend this headlamp.

I have used several other headlamps, incandescent and LED, over the years and this is by far the best.

1. Light dispersion. The light pattern from this very uniform. The center of the pattern is brighter but the transition to the edges is very uniform with no discernable hot-spots. The pattern is wide enough to provide good peripheral visibility. When you are hiking at night there is no need to keep moving your head around to see the edges of the trail. The middle brightness level provides plenty of light for night hiking even for my old eyes. Younger eyes will do fine with the lamp at its lowest brightness level which will really extend the already great battery life.

2. Light weight and compact. The three AAA cells are carried close to your forehead. You hardly notice the presence of the lamp. Other headlamps that I have used have placed the lamp assembly so far out from the head that the lamp tends to bob up and down when you walk. Others with the battery pack at the back of the head or on the belt balance alright but the battery pack and wiring snag on brush, bump on the backpack or prevent you from resting you head on a pillow. The Petzl is compact enough to wear either over or beneath a hat when the rain begins.

3. Tough. I have dropped my Petzl on rock or concrete a couple of times. The worst that happened was the the battery compartment popped open. The headlamp was undamaged and went right back into service.

4. Standard batteries. AAA cells are as common as dirt. When they do finally have to be replaced there is no problem finding new cells.

This is a replacement bulb for a torchere style floor lamp fixture that employed a regular everyday use "A" base Edison incandescent bulb. The incandescent bulb was first replaced with a 23 watt Sylvania Circuline flourescent ring lamp. This lamp did not have enought light output so I then replaced it with the TCP 17040 lamp.

The TCP 17040 (40 watt) in use now has plenty of light output. The lamp instantly turns on, is quiet, and has a good quality of light. The stated color temperature is 2800 kelvin, or warm white. The color rendering appearance is very pleasing in a home environment. This lamp is a 40 watt model, so there is more light output. This higher wattage version is not available at the major home centers. TCP brand is a commercial line so you'll find them here on Amazon or at a wholesale trades only electrical supply company.

The supplier shipped quickly, and the items arrived on time. The order was carefully packaged so no damage occurred. The shopping experience was good. I would order more products from this supplier.

If you're looking for this type of a light, then you know that it's rather hard to find this style of bulb. It's fairly bright, and it's a warm light (not cool white). Good value.

Wow what a great light!!!!! very bright, dependable and water proof It just sips electricity.

We live in a rural area where we live lights one all night. This one is the last one of many to switch to LED.

The onlye reason I gave it 4 stars was some one decided to save 3 cents and the wires were too short making it very hard to install
