I would agree with other reviewer that the light seems to be in the 3300K range. The bulbs are dimmable but I notice a low volume humming noise when operated below full power. I may not notice the noise over time but perhaps now that I know it exists I may be listening for it. If you plan to dim the bulb and you are sensitive to noise I would look at other options.

It worked out fine, although it's a little tight for our piano lamp, because of the plug wire location inside the lamp.Other than that, it works great. Hopefully it will outlast a standard bulb by a long time.

The lights at the end of the driveway kept burning. My brother thought it might be the rain on the hot bulbs were burning them. We thought we would try LED lights being they don't get hot. I've had this for about a month and no more burning bulbs. These bulbs are fantastic when you need to put them outside in the elements.

The lamp arrived directly from China in 17 days (to Northeastern US). Seems a little cheaply made, but all LEDs function OK. It is roughly equivalent to a 40-watt incandescent light bulb, so a side-by-side comparison was made. It was about half the diameter but longer than the 40W bulb. It was slightly brighter than the 40W bulb (roughly 500 vs 550 lumens). Compared to the soft-white 40W bulb the LED color was somewhat cooler, but still "warm" (approximately 3300K). After 5 minutes of operation a non-contact surface temperature was taken; the 40W bulb measured 260F while the LED lamp was 140F. Assuming a reasonably long service life, this should be a good replacement for a 40W light bulb.

Now I know they don't make things like they used to, but an LED light bulb should last longer than ONE night!!! Thinking the issue was isolated to a single bulb, I placed a second bulb in the same fixture the following night only to find it burnt out the following morning. I've used other LED 'Corn' type bulbs in this fixture before with success, so am convinced these bulbs are duds. Buyer beware...
