I just moved and made the effort to set up my new place to be more energy efficient. The guy at the light store recommended Bulbrite CFL's for the house and I assumed he knew what he was talking about. So when it came to the desklamp, I decided to select the Bulbrite product based on the previous recommendation.

I am very happy with my decision. The design is really sleek and so flexible. I think I am sitting at my desk more and working more because of the quality of the light (maybe this excitement will wear off after a few weeks). But given the expected life of the product and my satisfaction so far, it probably is my last desk lamp ever.

I received this light today and can say that I do like it very much, although there is a slight stinging in my rear pants pocket where my wallet resides. I was impressed with the reviews and compared it closely with what I assume is it's copy-cat competitor: Lumian Design LED Desk Light at $48. I rationalized to myself that for $126 this must be a highly superior light, most likely made of metal (which it is not). Positive aspects are that the light is nice and bright; and the cord plugs into the base as compared to the Lumian model. Negative aspects is that at 15 inches high it would be better if it were a little taller or the light could pivot a little higher. The real rub is that somehow, for $79 more than the competitor, I would have expected perhaps a metal body. For $126 this 15 inch piece of plastic should at least play the National Anthem or do my laundry. Oh well, live and learn. It is a very nice piece of plastic and I am sure that I will enjoy it. Although I'm still stuck on the fact that for only $18 more I could have had three (3) of the Lumian pieces of plastic instead of just one piece of very expensive plastic that lights up.

I have this lamp on my desk at work, not only does it look stylish on its own but it makes everything it illuminates look great as well. I can't wait till I receive my second one for home.

I also thought it was really cool that you could move the light part separately from the base, or fold it up and get it out of the way easily. That makes it super easy to work in a wider area and not have to reposition or move around the whole lamp all the time.

I bought the lamp because I thought it looked cool, then I realized I wont have to buy another desk lamp or lightbulbs for like 20 years! Totally worthwhile purchase! I had never heard of Bulbrite before but I'm gonna look for their stuff from now on.

Honest reviews on Bulbrite Swytch LED Desk Lamp, Wine

I purchased this lamp because I wanted something sleek and modern but not overly expensive for the desk in my home office. It looks great with all of my Ikea furniture. However I have a three year old that likes to throw things on the ground and surprisingly this lamp has withstood every trial my son has put it through. This was a great purchase, good light, great style and I'm pretty sure it will survive being thrown off the roof of my house if my son so chooses.

This is the perfect desk light. The LED bulbs give plenty of light for working and do not generate heat, which I find a plus. The light is well-designed, and I love the fact that it folds down when not in use. I don't know why the wine red color is so much cheaper than the black, but I like the color and it goes well with my little home office. Other lights have too big a base or they give off too much heat or they spread their light over only a tiny area or they're fluorescent, which I find fatigues my eyes. I looked for the right light for a very long time, and this is it!

I picked up two of these bulbs from a local pet shopa few days ago . Sadly I got such a good price on them that I didn't even bother looking at reviews first. I know there is one reviewer that slammed the thought of writting a review about a light bulb but when you have a considerable investment in your aquarium setup you probable don't want to take a chance on buying a dud.As mentioned I just got these bulbs a few days ago. I can tell a slight improvement in my plants and the colors of the fish seem a bit brighter. However my tank is 55 gallon and about 18 inches tall. Because the light hood is very narrow the entire tank does not get the full benefit and the fish seem to change color when they swim in and out of the "beam" of light that can be noticed when viewed from the side of the tank. I am giving the bulbs the review I have until a few weeks have passed and I can see how much of a difference these bulbs make over the standard full spectrum bulbs that I have had for the past year.

I bought this to replace the stock bulb that came with my lamp. The packaging was a little tough to open but it's more important that it arrived in good shape.

Upon getting the packaging off, I could hear something rattling around inside it. I feared the worst.

However, the light has been working fine. It seems brighter than the one before it.

I bought this bulb thinking it was going to work better then the other lights available on amazon, but boy was I wrong. I had the light on for 4hrs and it was flickering. Really. Not only did it flicker, but when I was able to get a solid beam of light; it just wasn't bright enought. I honestly don't think this light is 15watts.

If you are considering this bulb, DON'T.

Feit Electric A19/HP/LED 5-LED High Performance A19 Bulb, 7.5-Watt Review

Purchased one of these bulbs at a local big-name hardware store as well. Placed it in a standard upright table lamp that I'd previously had a flourescent in. I only received about ten hours of light over 7-10 days before the bulb began to flicker and finally failed. It was turned on and left on in a plain lamp for a couple hours at a time and then turned off again: no dimmer, no fancy light fixtures, no touch lamp. I haven't been able to identify any reason for it to fail so quickly. I put the flourescent bulb back in the lamp.

While the LED bulb DID work, it was excellent did not hurt my eyes, no glare on the computer screen nearby, very soft but vivid white glow. Also important to me: bulb remains very, very cool while in use and exudes extremely little warmth.

Also, on a customer service note -worth considering with your purchase, I think:

Instead of just returning it to the store, since it failed a week in, I decided to follow the contact info on the package and contact the manufacturer instead.

Got in touch with Feit a few days after I sent them an email, got asked a few questions about how long I used the bulb before it failed, and was told I'd be sent a replacement no replacement arrived, and about ten days later I received a few more messages instructing me that actually before I could get a replacement I'd have to have the bulb I already had shipped to them and "tested." Asked if they could provide a mailing label for me to ship their faulty bulb back (rather than paying half the cost of the item to ship it back to them), and still haven't receieved a responce.

Willing to accept this may be a fluke or simple mistake but it was a little disappointing! Will be updating my review accordingly if/when I receive a replacement, but in the meantime between the strange turnaround of my replacement request and how quickly the bulb failed I would not yet recommend this product to anyone -at least not until it's been out on the market a little longer.

I own a lot of led lights and this is the first true incandescent replacement I have seen. I've been wanting to switch over to LED lighting for some time because of the mercury seen in CFL (compact fluorescent light) bulbs, and because CFL's never last as long as they say they're going to last. LED bulbs last a LONG time and are very energy efficient. The price should come down as these bulbs become more mainstream but until now, LED bulbs weren't really good enough to replace your current incandescent of CFL. These particular bulbs are definitely good enough to replace your standard incandescent bulb. Sylvania makes one that looks very similar but the price at the local store was $10 higher than this bulb.

Best Deals for Feit Electric A19/HP/LED 5-LED High Performance A19 Bulb, 7.5-Watt

Just bought this A19 bulb from a local "big box" retailer for $18. I have it installed in my desk lamp. The color is good (3000 degrees kelvin). It's not quite as "yellow" or warm as an incandescent bulb but it's close. Manufacturer claims that power consumption is 6.5 watts, 340 lumens, 30000 hours of life, 84% more efficient relative to a standard incandescent bulb. It's warm to the touch but not hot. Not intended for use with dimmers. I'm not one to notice, but I understand that these lights don't "strobe" like CFL bulbs do. Efficiency is 25-40% better than CFL, but the cost is 10x higher. If cost come down a bit more, I'd probably buy this again.

Honest reviews on Feit Electric A19/HP/LED 5-LED High Performance A19 Bulb, 7.5-Watt

Bought this at big box retailer for about 20$ and it produces more light than a condescend bulb and a compact florescent. Definately a white-ish light but not really bright enough to blind anyone when you step outside and provides good enough light to be able to see the keyhole to the house, If you are considering indoor light or outfoor light that is covered so it doesn't get wet then this light is for you! Also Feit is probably one of the good companies to buy LED from right now, Phillips is also but if choice, go for Feit

This bulb is the best bang for your buck when it comes to LED bulbs. This is by far the cheapest 40 watt replacement bulb, and it only draws 6.5 watts, the next best thing is Sylvania's A19 replacement, but it costs $5 to $10 more, and it draws 8 watts. This bulb looks like an incandescent bulb--you can't even notice it when it's screwed into a socket, and the light is much whiter than an incandescent, but not harsh like a fluorescent. As a result, the perceived light output is similar to that of a 60 watt incandescent. Also, the LED bulbs do not flicker like CFLs. I have replaced every A19 bulb in my home with these and do not miss the incandescents at all! I would recommend these bulbs to everyone, as long as you're not looking for a bulb with dimming capability, as these cannot dim.

DO NOT BUY THIS BULB FROM AMAZON--YOU CAN BUY THESE FROM LOWES FOR ONLY $18!

Discount Mathmos Bump Rechargeable Portable LED Lantern W 4 Light Settings

Customer Ratings:
List Price: $120.00
Sale Price: Price Unavailable
Today's Bonus: 34% Off

this is a pretty good light but only 2 usable settings. full power and color changing. not sure their math on the 50% light setting. it's more like 10% light. i like that i can bring it out on the deck to BBQ at night or carry it around and use it when the power goes out.

they claim the assembled height is 5.8 inches. not sure how they measured this but it's 9.5 inches tall and just over 11 inches tall including the handle. probably the same math whiz that estimated the 50% light setting

aside from the 10% light setting being useless, the "bump" feature is so sensitive it can't handle moderately loud music. not even super loud just more like a full stereo going but not loud enough to be heard outside the brick wall of the room it's in. so it will switch modes by itself due to the music being on. this makes it useless for party ambiance, which is a shame because the color changing would have been great for that. i happen to have mine in a recording studio and sadly i'll have to move it somewhere else. i do not find the "bump" feature that great anyway, they should have just installed a switch for that, or at least allowed you to turn the bump off.

if you want to use this for candlelight dinners or in a quiet room, you're in luck. just forget about entertaining with it where music is involved. design is nice but the plastic feels a bit cheap. all in all not worth the 87 i paid imo. 40 would have been fair. given it's limitations, cheap build and high price, i think 3 star rating is fair

UPDATE: aside from the sound activate issues the light kept getting dimmer and dimmer when on full power, to the point it's unusable. luckily i'm in the period to return it so I'm doing so

The touch response is instant and sensitive... no banging on it necessary here. I've had many compliments on it and it always seems to give off the perfect light that perfectly fits the mood in the room. It's wonderful and I'm extremely pleased with my buy.

At this price, this lantern is wonderful. Yes, when you set it down it turns on all by itself, when it's not supposed to, but hey, It's over half off! There are 3 settings, high, low and cycling through the colors. It lends a very nice mood to the room and to the patio and is easy to hang anywhere and a solid product.

When it is charging a light is emitted on the base of the lantern as an FYI.

I thought this item was going to be the moving wick type like luminara. It is NOT. Just a lite flicker with fake wick.

Honest reviews on Flameless LED Candles - 3PK, 5-Hour Timer, Realistic Wick

We saw these candles in a lovely place we were staying recently in Colorado and then found them on amazon. We ordered them and received them FedEx in few days, but were disappointed when we opened the box to find that the largest of the three candles was broken in two places, each broken piece a couple of inches roughly triangled. These are real wax about a 1/4 inch thick mounted on an internal frame. The reason it was broken was because the box depicted in the amazon photo was crammed down into (this is true) a mozarella bread stick box and wrapped only in a couple of sheets of newspaper. Any bump in transit was sure to break something, guaranteed. This seller needs to improve their shipping drastically.

All that being said, they worked wonderfully and I was able to repair the broken candle with simple glue and it does not show the repair. These are the best looking electric candles I have seen anywhere. Very realistic because they are real wax beautifully scuptured with a pattern. Gorgeous! They just need to buy some boxes and wrapping foam.

Cheap Porcelain Medium Base Socket Extender

Customer Ratings:

This simple device allows us to use modern CFL Floodlight bulbs in standard recessed lighting cans.

Our latest "Project Foreclosure" had a set of 3 recessed lights on a dimmer switch in the family room. I wasn't able to find dimmable CFL floodlights that fit into the existing fixtures. The problem was that the wide base of the CFL did not fit inside of the existing lighting fixtures, which were designed to accommodate a narrow neck of an incandescent floodlight bulb. I wanted to use efficient bulbs, but didn't have a desire to replace the entire recessed lighting fixture to accommodate the modern CFL.

This socket extender allows us to use the bulbs we want with the existing fixtures. It is safe, has a good tight fit, and allowed us to use efficient bulbs in places where we would have otherwise had to replace an entire fixture.

We are a 55+ community, and the recessed lights the builder used in our clubhouse are very deep such that they restrict the flood of light. We have used these successfully (sometime two in a fixture) to improve the lighting, in many cases without having to increase the bulb wattage. All our residents are are thankful.

Best Deals for Porcelain Medium Base Socket Extender

It has been comfortably sitting in an outdoor socket for about a year now, and shows no signs of degradation or problems. It was just long enough that our blub can now clear a strangely narrow mount. Pretty much what you'd want.

Honest reviews on Porcelain Medium Base Socket Extender

I mainly bought these extenders to see if they would allow me to install some CFL bulbs in deep lamp sockets. Turns out the ceramic portion of the socket base is also too wide to fit in the lamps. A base that did work for me was the phenolic ALZO E27 Socket Extender also sold through Amazon. I took off two stars because I ordered four bases and they were shipped screwed together to make a single long cylinder that was surrounded in bubble wrap but not supported within the box. The package must have been dropped or shaken because even though it showed no outward sign of damage and the wrappings were all intact one of the bases had cracked and was useless. Either the bases should have been wrapped individually or the group of them should have been supported within the box so sudden deceleration wouldn't have torqued the group enough to crack a base.

I purchased beautiful lights with bell shaped shades and was extremely disappointed when I realized globe shaped bulbs would not fit. The bulbs hit the base of the shades and could not be screwed in all the way. These extenders worked perfect and the globe shaped bulbs look wonderful in my lights. I thought the price of shipping was high; but I was amazed at how fast I recieved my order. I am very satisfied with this product.

Lithonia (6BP-MW-LED) 6" P Series LED M6 Recessed Module Review

Customer Ratings:

These units provide amazingly good light. They're rated as equivalent to a 75 w incandescent bulb, but we're using one of them to replace a 150w incandescent and it does the job very well. The color of the light is excellent and might be the reason they seem so much better than the 75w bulbs most of them are replacing. The price is good (and would have been very good if we could have used Amazon Prime).

The one possible issue is that1 unit out of the 5 installed so far is operating inconsistently, and that might be an installation issue, which we're checking out.

I like it because the heatsink trim is gold in color. The lighting output is good. It only dims to about 50% at the lowest dimmer setting. I know the color temp says this is in the 3000K range, but it is more like 4500, and probably not what I would call "warm" white, maybe closer to "bright" white. I don't know why they didn't at least color the white plastic between the screw base and the gold heat sink a gold color, you can see a white ring when installed in the chandelier. It does what it is supposed to do, although I think there will be better shaped and trimmed versions in the future.
