These replaced 50 watt Halogens over my desk and they are noticeably dimmer. The color is kind of an off-white creme or beige even. My walls are beige so they seem to match. I installed 5 of them on my track light and they dimmed but would not shut off and since my husband is an electrician, he knows if they flutter when you go to shut off led lights or stay lightly lit then they are NOT dimmable. Waste of ordering these bulbs.The only thing I liked was that they were white light instead of that yellowish glow that halogens give off. Brighter but not dimmable like they say and if it was one, I would have chalked it off as a defect, but five, I think not. Returned right away. Very disappointed in misleading product description. Amazon needs to have vendor change that ASAP.

1. The light as some have reported on other sites are much darker than the picture (more of a brown) when not illuminated. The picture shown here is of an illuminated globe and is representative of the light when lit.

2. The glass, which is of good quality, does vary from globe to globe; each being unique. With that said, they do match as a set and provide some character.

3. I love Amazon and have purchased many items; they are usually the lowest price. However in this case, you can find these lights at your local Lowes home improvement store for quite a bit less. Around $15 for the globe and another $15 for the fixture.

4. An installation tip consider using a wireless remote switch to control the light fixture if you don't have easy access to installing a wall switch. The remote can be purchased at any home improvements store for less than $10 during the holiday season (these are generally used for controlling holiday lights). Just be sure to find a switch that is rated appropriately for the wattage use and signal distance. You should consult an electrician to ensure you have an adequate power source and appropriate placement of the remote receiver.

We were keeping looking for a lamp for my daughter for a while until we saw this one. I read those reviews and then decided to take a chance. But after we got the item and tried a few days, we found we love it. It is a beautiful design. The head is flexible and can go whatever direction for reading. The light from it is perfect for reading. It can be turned on and adjusted by sliding instead of flipping a switch. Anyway, it is a very good product and we are happy that we digged it out from a bunch of products. We will get another one for my son when he grows up a little bit.

I've found the best use for these products to actually be something other than what they are advertised for. As many people may be unaware of most of the electronics in your home actually drain energy even when turned off, just being plugged in they drain electricity. A couple of months ago I decided to get into the habit of unplugging everything to help save energy but it grew troublesome for some electronics because the plugs were under desks or behind objects. I even said to myself I wish they'd invent a way so I could do this with a remote and voila! They already had!

I bought the DSI EZ Outlet Remote based on the reviews and have not been disappointed. You get three wall units and the remote control and they are very easy to set up. Basically, plug the units into your outlets, plug your lights or small appliances into the units and turn them on. The wall units are each numbered and correspond to the numbered buttons on the remote. You can also turn the units on/off manually. One thing that did surprise me was the size of the wall units they are approximately 5" x 2 6/8" x 2 3/4" and they don't leave much room to enable you to plug something else into the bottom of the wall outlet. You might want to take that into consideration before you buy this product.

Cheap LSH-Icicle TBL Icicle Contemporary Chrome Table Lamp

I bought this lamp to use on my desk and found it to be futuristic, fun and beautiful. What is not in the description is that it comes with four bulbs and four frosted cylinders -I suppose an extra of each just in case one breaks during shipping. It also has a built in dimmer switch that adjusts from very bright to low glowing light. The one drawback is that the assembly instructions are a bit confusing and you'll need to look at the actual photo of the lamp online to figure out the exact placement of the cylinders. It took me an hour to assemble what should have taken fifteen minutes at most. I finally placed the base so the cord is at 12 o'clock and assembled it correctly; the tallest cylinder is at 3, smallest cylinder at 7 and the medium at 10. This should make it easier for you and although my time investment was longer, the final results were well worth the time.

It took me two hours to assemble this lamp. The problem is that the instruction picture is not the same as the one on amazon. You really don't know which piece fits where. I ended up being very frustrated. Hopefully this reviews are read by the company so that they can improve their instructions and send us new and very clear one. The only good thing about the light is that it has dim control and it looks nice but it still doesn't look as nice as on the picture shown on amazon.

This is one great lamp. It's bright, stylish, and extremely sturdy. I felt assembly was actually pretty simple. The instructions weren't detailed, but they didn't really need to be. There simply aren't that many parts for it to be very complicated. My actual biggest complaint is the plastic used to cover the base. It inspires "nails on chalkboard" when you remove it and bits of it get stuck in the crevices. I can see myself pulling little bits off for days to come. That said, let's address the most common concern in reviews.

ASSEMBLY - The lamp consists of the following parts:

1 Base

3 Metal tubings (small/medium/large)

4 Frosted glass tubings (3 used + 1 spare)

4 DontTouchMeOrIBurnout Bulbs (3 used + 1 spare)

That's it. Place the base so the power cord faces at 0°. Untie the the individual tube power cords. This can be tricky, they're tied fairly tight. Try to give them a little slack and push the ends through one at a time. I found it easier to attach the tubes from longest to shortest. The long tube screws in at 90°, medium at 225°, and small at 315°. After that pop the bulbs in and then slide the frosted tubings on top of those. Done. Whole assembly for two lamps took less than 1/2 an hour and would have been less if I hadn't tested doing the tubes from small to large.

Good luck. If you like the looks of this lamp don't be intimidated by the horror stories. It's a cinch.

The lamp was well packaged and the spare bulb and glass cylinder were nice in case of breakage. However this is actually the first hint of poor quality control. The tolerances of the angled bases is poor and the lamp posts interfere with each-other making assembly quite difficult. One of the bulb terminals had a stripped screw and had been crushed-in a little during manufacturing. The instructions are near useless as well. After about 20 minutes of trial and error I was able to get the lamp assembled based on a better picture found through Google. The lamp's final appearance is more than worth it's price but the actual quality is NOT there. Thankfully it only needs to be assembled once.

****(HINT: To others trying to assemble: with the cord on your right, the longest cylinder should be in front, the middle length on your right, closest to the cord, and the shortest on your left on the far side away from the cord. You WILL need to push a little on each cylinder to get them assembled.)

This lamp is awesome looking--very visually attractive!

However, like other buyers, I found the assembly instructions to be less than helpful. And when I did put it together, I found that the bulbs only work when they want to which I find super inconvenient. If I'm reading in bed, and the bulbs decide to go out, I'm left with nothing. There's a slight buzzing sound coming from my lamp, too.

I ordered this for my husband as a stocking stuffer. I didn't expect a lot because of the low price but it did cost me almost double that price in shipping costs. We were very disappointed when it didn't work at all. First, the package states batteries are included...there were none. No problem...we placed new working batteries in it and still it would not work. We then re-tested the batteries, put them back in the unit and still it would not work. I e-mailed the company on 12/26/06 and received an automated response that a technical support rep would respond as quickly as possible. It's now January 9th and I still have heard nothing.

I would like to hear something back so we can resolve the issue. Thank you.

Arrived with the green part of the RGB LEDs stuck at the maximum brightness... Can't even turn them off and all the colors are messed up by too much green, not to mention, you can't get pure white at all.

It wouldn't have been a major problem, except with this seller I don't have an option to exchange (what is probably just a broken $4.99 dimmer/controller) and have to ship it all back, at _my_ expense. Guess what, I'll be ordering a replacement from a different vendor -luckily there is at least three other sellers of these lights at amazon alone, not to mention the direct from china sites.

One star for customer care, or lack thereof, and as a matter of principle. If you are selling $10 items for $40, you ought to take care of defective products.

I checked the whole kit before installation everything worked nice. So I installed it, but I really should have checked it before installation more thoroughly. Now I have several hoes in my wall (to mount power supply and the controller), which prevents me from just returning it back. Why do I want to return it if it worked nice?

IT INTERCEPTS SIGNALS FROM LG TV REMOTE CONTROL! For example, "up" button on TV remote switches LED strip on and off, "Power" button turns led strip purple, etc. However, TV itself is not affected by signals from LED strip remote. I e-mailed Led Wholesalers with my problem thrice, but still no response. So I am doomed to operate TV while LED strip flashes, then take LED remote and turn it off.

I received 5 of these lamps for my landscape lights. 2 of them had the pins not soldered correctly (the pins to plug them in to the socket with) were loose and I had to re-solder them. The lamps are very bright as operating. I wanted to contact the supplier and notify them the soldering for the pins has a problem in assembly(cold solder connection). If you can not solder small electronics--beware! I would hope these would be replaced by the mfgr. Also, be very careful removing them from the excellent packaging!

Also, the lamps are polarity sensitive and may need reversal in the socket to operate, if on a 12 VDC source. This should be stated in the data on the site.

Nice color for landscape lights!

If they last and correct this problem on their lamps, I would give them 5 stars.

I purchased eight of these LED lights last Fall. They appeared to be high quality, but by Spring, two failed. The plastic lens cracked and the top fell off. I replaced them. Within a few months, two more, including one of the replacements, developed the same problem. There appear to be high levels of stress on the plastic lens. The LEDs still work. Since it is a clean crack, it is possible to use clear RTV adhesive to glue them back together again without the repair being noticeable. Unless you keep a tube of RTV handy and like doing repairs, steer clear.

I ordered this product earlier in the Spring in the hopes of installing the new lights sooner. Product was backordered for a month or so but that is not why I am giving it a three star rating. The reason for the three star rating is that once I received the shipment and went to install the lights (last weekend), I noticed that three of the four lights had dented domes. The boxes the lights came in were not damaged in any way and although the dents do not prevent the lights from working, it just appears to be very poor quality control. I think the next time I need similar lights, I'll skip this brand.

I did not check lights when I received them 2 weeks ago as the rest of the landscaping project was still going on and there were other things more urgent to address. But today when everything was ready I opened the boxes to check these lights... and what a surprise. From 13 lights that I ordered all 13 have different size dents on the dome. I could not believe my eyes. I read other reviews where three out of 4 were damaged, but all 13? What type of quality control Moonrays has?

I am obviously returning these lights back to Amazon and hope they will point out to Moonrays that such quality is not acceptable.
