I am extremely tech savvy person with extensive knowledge of LED lighting. I was a little bit hesitant to install these in my Living room where I had 11 of 50w Mr16 halogens. Everyone is using the room extensively and now with energy prices going up. I had to look into the alternative. These doing the job just fine, they are not as bright as my 50W halogen, but the cost benefit outweigh the lower brightness, and they are dimmable, so the mood lighting can be set. I have installed smarthome instaon dimmers and now using my iphone to control them. There are two disadvantages of them, one they are not supper bright, and they are a bit taller than halogen, so they couldn't fit in to some other movable fixtures I have in the dining room. Otherwise I am using them every day, and with overall LED bulb pricing it is a good value for the money.

Wishing now I had gotten two of these. This lamp's light is surprisingly even (given its three LED sources), and it's a good fit in my gooseneck fixture. In an unscientific A-B test, it appears to be slightly brighter than the 35W halogen it's designed to replace. It seems well-made, worked on first and subsequent uses, has no odor or odd humming or vibration.

The only issue, which I worked around, is its length. As other reviewers have noted, it's a bit longer than the halogen it's designed to replace. For me, this meant that the spring-steel clip that was to have held it in, wouldn't clasp easily, and once clasped, held the lamp off-center. I ended up throwing out the clip and securing the lamp using a short length of solid-core wire. This is minor for me, especially since it's not visible. Others may have concerns if your fixture integrates a glass face that you're unwilling to go without (though the lamp is cool to the touch so I wouldn't be concerned if I had to lose the glass face).

For my application, this lamp is perfect and I'm quite happy. I'll be ordering another now that I am confident in its quality.

Discovered that these bulbs are not standard MR16 height. Instead of normal ~1.45" tall, these are more like 1.75" tall so they stick out the end of my fixture.

Will be returning them to find one that is the correct size. For the 1 minute I tried them, the color and brightness seemed fine. Dimmer worked on them too.

Disappointed with the life-span of these bulbs. Bought them in March and in September two out of three had died already.
