Here's something that all buyers of this product learn sooner or later: These were installed in my kitchen when the house was built 22 years ago. In the very top of the can is a temperature sensor designed to cut power to the lightbulb if you happen to install a bulb of too high a wattage. Unfortunately, these sensor have a very high failure rate over time and I've replaced half of them in my kitchen to date. It's almost impossible to find the sensors and if you don't have easy access to the attic or ceiling above the lights, you can't replace the fixture. So, I buy the new fixture, remove the sensor, and replace the failed one with this new one. At that point, the new fixture goes in the metal scrap heap. The cost of an entire fixture is 1/2 to 1/3 of what you'd pay for just the sensor, if you could find them sold separately.
I wouldn't recommend installing these fixtures in new installations buy a better one and save money in the long run. If you have to call an electrician to fix one of these with a bad sensor, you'll end up paying many times what a better fixture would have cost you.
