I was pleasantly surprised by the natural look of the light produced by this bulb. Not harsh, not yellow, not bluish and unlike CFLs it is bright immediately. The LEDs will probably last the rated 40,000 hours but my concern are the electronics stuffed into the base. I do hope they last. BTW 40,000 hours at 5 hours per day amounts to over 20 years. I think the technology will outrun the lamp.
