The color is daylight and very bright, but narrow area. I don't use dimmer, so don't know how it works with dimmer.

I got two of these for a outdoor security light, it is great. Very bight, so bright it is hard to look directly at the light. The color is pretty cool, no yellow at all but not harsh. It is instant on and rated for wet conditions so that is good. Can't wait for the price to come down more but I already bought another two.

I purchased four (4) of the GE PAR38 4000K indoor/outdoor bulbs because of previous experiences with off-brand models that could have been better. This unit is a dimmable flood pattern, and it works fine with my Lutron RADIORA2 dimmers. It consumes 26 watts and produces 1650 lumens. With them at full-bright, you can clearly see the edge of the light pattern nine feet away (where patterns do not overlap). That means they produce a nice strong light for a play or work area, not the dim lighting of a lower-wattage unit.
