Update 10/6/2011: It has now been a few months and most of the eight lamps purchased have failed. I'm stuck with $200 worth of bulbs which have failed or are close to failing. STAY AWAY!!!

Original Review: We ordered eight of these lamps to occupy 4" recessed cans our new laundry room. Plenty of light and decent spectrum. They seem about 80% as bright as a 50W halogen PAR20. They are definitely cooler spectrum than halogen but that's fine especially in a work area, and if you want a more "modern" look.

They dim very well. There just aren't many choices yet for dimmable LED PAR20's. Connected to an Insteon toggle dimmer switch they dim very linearly.

My concern with these lamps is reliability. Of the eight we ordered, one failed after a couple days and a second failed after a month. In the "failed" lamps the material immediately surrounding each LED looked melted; they still lit but extremely dimly, maybe 10% of normal brightness. The good news is that the vendor supported the product well and immediately mailed us replacements. My advice if you buy these is to read the warranty and return policies carefully. We'll see about the long term reliability of these lamps.. not sure yet, it has only been a month so far.

We may order more of these despite the issues. They appear to be the brightest dimmable LED PAR20 lamp available so far, and when they work, they work great.

This LED light works great in the recessed light over the kitchen sink. We leave it on all night so it's worth it to get the low wattage. It seems as bright as the 50w it replaced and it looks very high tech in the ceiling. It would be perfect if the light were a bit warmer but it's not bad, probably similar to daylight rather than tungsten.

Very nice "warm" light. Not bluish like so many other bright LEDs. Spread of the beam is a little narrow for a flood light, not as narrow as a spot light, but it is not a wide flood light. I assumed the 45 in the item's name meant it was a 45 degree flood, but it seems closer to 30 degrees or so.

I got 4 of these LED bulbs for my track lights. Then I replaced the dimmer with the new Lutron Diva. I couldn't be happier. The bulbs dim to quite a low level with no flicker, and they are as bright as a 40 watt halogen with a nice white color.

Not quite as bright as a quartz flood but pretty close. The color temp is a shade on the blue side but not as much as a daylight. I am very happy with this purchase.
