By ordering this bulb at the same time as the lamp, I was able to use both at my piano immediately and didn't have to make a special trip to the store. It doesn't glare off the white music sheet and there is plenty of light, even in a dimly lit room.

My fridge came with the GE Lighting Blue appliance bulb, but this Soft White was slightly cheaper, so I tried this one, to my great regret.The color of the lighting makes a huge difference and the yellow of the Soft White makes it very dark and uninviting. This bulb might work elsewhere, but in the fridge, I think a cool blue light is much more appropriate.
