Skip flourescent lamps and go straight to these LED bulb replacements. They illuminate greatly the areas that I need to keep continuously lit (say, the stairwell), and they do it with more than acceptable intensity. Best of all, LEDs have a low power draw. Light color is daylight. I am buying two more; that says it all.

I purchased this light bulb for an outdoor lamp. It's made rugged and looks like it will last. The interior has 120 evenly placed LED bulbs. The Cover does a good job at making it look light one solid light. The color is kind of a daylight white without looking too blue. It's really bright. Brighter than the CFL bulb I had in it's place and it uses less electricity. It's about the size of a medium sized CFL lamp so it will fit easily in most applications.

I've had this crazy light bulb for what 3 years now?? My light sensor for the lamp isn't working so this thing stays illuminated 24/7 for several years now. I don't think one single LED has burned out through winters and summers. It definitely looks cool showing through the lantern fixture and makes my townhouse stand out from the cookie cutter townhouse stripe. It still lights as strong as ever. It uses next to nothing for energy. What more could you want except to pay less.

I had high hopes for this, I installed it in an enclosed fixture on the front porch and after about 6 months of use, it started flickering the other night and then just stopped working all together. I would not recommend this product based on it's high price and low run time before it failed. Also, the color on it is definitely off. I originally purchased this for use inside, however, it was very cold in color compared to all the other LED lightbulbs I have, so I decided to use it in the enclosure outside where it could be used without causing weird color contrasts inside. I've had two other LED products that have worked flawlessly for over a year now and I pretty much leave them on all the time since the low power draw is just amazing. I did use a wattage monitor on it once and it reported 10 watts instead of 8. Unfortunately now it's a paper weight. So much for that $44 (I see it's dropped in price now). Just wanted to warn people what to expect.
Honest reviews on Light Efficient Design LED-1424 E27 Base 120-Volt 8-Watt 150-LED
I thought I should warn anyone thinking to use this as a retrofit in a 60 W bulb socket that this thing is big... twice as big as a common 60 W bulb. I was going to use mine in a covered outside house lamp but it sticks out of the housing by more than 1/4" and I can't put the cover over it. I'm sure it works fine as a light but it simply isn't going to fit under every lampshade that the old incandescent bulb fit.

This is a pretty good LED light, especially for the price compared to others. Please be aware that the light bulb is a lot longer than an average bulb, so it may not fit in many light fixtures and may stick out the top of lamp shades. I couldn't fit the bulb in my kitchen fixtures or bedroom lamps, so they ended up in closets. Of course, I discovered this after I got them in the mail. On a good note, I won't have to replace my closet light bulbs for 20+ years now. The color is definitely daylight, and closest to a blue color. I wouldn't use the light bulb as the only light source in a small room as it is not as bright as comparable non-LED bulbs.
