I've had this outlet/light installed in our bedroom hallway for a little over a year.

It provides a nice, gentle downcast light which is perfect for a middle of the night bathroom run.

The only reason I didn't give it four stars is that it is a little oversized, and will not fit in a standard wall box. In fact, it's currently not completely flush with my wall. Now that I'm writing this, I realize that I should probably get around to fixing that.

Good product at a great price. If you need a non-GFI three prong outlet with a nightlight, this is a pretty good purchase.

Well, I'd love to review the product I thought I was buying. Unfortunately the item in the box doesn't exactly match the item I paid for. In fact, it doesn't even match the picture on the box it was shipped in! First of all, it isn't white. The description says white and the picture on the box says white but it's off white. Second, the design is different...which is actually a good thing. In the picture here, you see that the light is above the outlet. I thought that was a little odd since you're trying to light up the floor. Why wouldn't the light be closer to the floor? Well the device I received indeed does have the light on the bottom, so that's a good thing. And finally, the wires that you use to connect this thing are coming out of the side of the back. It's difficult to describe, but because the wires are coming out to the side and not straight out the back, you have to jam the recepticle into a standard size housing, bending the wires to the back and because of this, mine doesn't sit flush with my wall. What a terrific decision that was. Functionally the light works nicely and looks great at night. Not too bright, but enough light to see where you're walking and avoid running your hip into the stair railing or worse careening down them to your certain demise.

I bought 3 different models of outlet lights and I have to say that I like this one the best. It emits a warm glow similar to a movie theater, enough to see where you are going but not so bright that it will hurt your eyes. The downward facing vents are also reminiscent of a theater light. The bezel of the light/socket is squared off and does not match the other bezels in the room, but this light is so impressive that this detail is hard to notice.

Really cool I originally purchased two of these just to use as night-lights to help illuminate some high-traffic areas in my house. But the look was awesome reminded me of the floor lighting in a movie-theatre so I decided to buy several more and replace all the outlets in my TV room with them they provide fantastic environment and work fantastic. The only reason I can't give 5 stars is because they limit the amperage to 6 amps per outlet I guess my electronics background makes me wonder why they couldn't wire the outlet directly to the supply voltage and just tap into that to power the LED light... Seems like you lose a lot of working amperage with these outlets. Other than that, they're great. Just don't plan on plugging in a high-amp vacuum. Cheers!
