I purchased four of these lamps to replace existing 20-watt halogen lamps when I moved into a new rental property. The track lighting system is located on the ceiling of my kitchen and appears to be a 4-head IKEA system. All of the LED lamps appeared to function normally, but I later noticed a very subtle flicker that I first thought was due to vibrations from the washing machine or my footsteps. The flicker became intolerable after several days; not sure if I noticed it more or if it actually became worse.

The $5 IKEA transformer appears to have issues when only 12 watts of electrical load are connected. Replacing one of the LED MR16 lamps with an original 20-watt halogen lamp resolved the flicker completely in the remaining lamps.

These lamps are slightly taller than standard MR16 lamps and may be protrude from some fixtures. The color temperature is stated as a range from 2700 K to 3200 K. The initial light color appears to be around 3200 K and is cooler than other lamps rated at 2700 K. The light output is slightly lower than that of the 20-watt halogen lamps, but I am still impressed by the light output and quality from a 3-watt LED that costs less than $5.

Fast shipment and great customer service. I replaced halogen bulbs in a Tiella focus five head rail system. The heat generated by the OEM 20W halogen bulbs burned out wiring in one of five heads. The LED bulbs will solve the heat issue. In this system not all five lights can be replaced by LED bulbs as they do not generate enough current draw to allow the transformer to start. As a result one fixture needs remain with an original 20W halogen bulb.

An update after a few months of use: The heat that was a problem with wiring in fixtures has eventually become a problem for these LED bulbs as well. All have now failed as heat destroyed their internal rectifier circuit. Within a couple of minutes of turning on my fixture failed bulbs begin to flash on and off. Perhaps these LEDs will work in a larger fixture, but they are not suitable as a replacement for halogen in small fixtures.
