First, this flashlight does **NOT** come with a battery! Mine didn't, anyway. The description of this needs to change, removing "14500 Rechargable Ultrafire 1200mAh Battery".
The flashlight takes one AA battery. The casing is all metal. The battery compartment is accessed by unscrewing the base around the pushbutton. The LED can also be accessed by unscrewing the lens. The light output can be changed from spotlight to floodlight by sliding the lens section up and down the body of the flashlight, range of movement being 1/4".
This is a small flashlight, about 3.5" long, 3.25" circumference. The grips carved in along the sides are a nice touch.
Although undocumented, the pushbutton has a 3-way function: Low-power light, high-power light, strobe light.
This flashlight is **VERY** bright when adjusted for 'spotlight', almost "laser-beam' powerful! And feels "good" to hold. Overall, a great deal for the very low price. Would have given it 5 stars if the headline hadn't of given an incorrect description that says a battery is included. Oh well: the price to be paid for misinformation/disinformation.
UPDATE 04.24.13
So 6 months later, I have downgraded this from 4 stars to 3. This model and the silver-colored variations have developed a problem in which there is intermittent failure in the current flow. The screw-in pushbutton switch assembly in the back of the flashlight, which contacts the back of the AA battery, conducts the electrical circuit through its threads. Over time, it appears the threads get dirty and/or corroded, especially when exposed to moisture, causing the light to go out or dim. Cleaning the threads helps to restore better functionality, but it is maddening to have the light go out when you need it most. The lens also has clouded a bit. This really IS a bright and sturdy flashlight, but the poor design choice in using the vulnerable threads to conduct the battery circuit takes away from an otherwise very good flashlight.
