The Mighty Bright's only shortcoming is that the battery case is just a little bit heavier than I'd prefer for paperbacks, but it's not unworkable. Still I'd consider trying their mini-model for paperbacks if its anywhere near as good as it's big brother.

I've tried 'em all, and this is THE ONE, bar none!And who would've thunk it? I've paid nearly three-times the price! than the cost of this 'Mighty Bright Triple Booklight' for what I thought would be better quality and exemplary function.
WRONG. WRONG. WRONG.
This booklite is so BRIGHT, so CLEAR, and so ILLUMINATING, that I'm just beside myself with glee. I mean it, GLEE! After having gone thru the gamut of booklites on the market over the years, THEY FINALLY GOT IT RIGHT.

TELESCOPING ARM:
The TELESCOPING ARM extends to a full 6-Inches and, (with the adjustable point at 1-Inch at the bottom), you get a full 5-Inches of telescoping adjustability. That adjustability has 5 POSITIONS that lightly SNAP into place, so there is no fear of the telescoping arm losing its ability to stay in the place you set it over time. As well, when you collapse it for travelling, the HEAD snaps into the top of the battery pack for protection!

LED HEAD and BULBS:
The HEAD that contains the TRIPLE LED's, adjusts from a straight-up vertical position to a full 90-degree angle, and everywhere in between. As well, the HEAD actually SWIVELS! encompassing a full 180-degree range of LED light... thus, absolutely, positively, and unequivocally providing REAL TWO-PAGE ILLUMINATION!
And the LED BULBS are designed in such a way that you virtually NEVER have to replace them. Yeah, this MIGHTY BRIGHT was built to last. How refreshing in today's world of disposable everything.

AC ADAPTOR:
This DELUXE package comes with an AC ADAPTOR. That's perfect for me because I do almost all my reading in bed, and going thru batteries is just crazy for my particular needs. BUT, when I got the package, I put in 3-AAA Batteries anyway, just to get a feel for the weight of the Booklight for the times when I DO want to take it travelling. And I'm telling you, this thing is so 'LIGHT AS A FEATHER' (with the batteries in it!) that I'm just amazed. It weighs in at about 3-4 ounces, and measures just under 1 1/2" x 1 1/2" x 3/4" thick. What a convenience!

COMPARISON:
I had been using a Zelco-brand booklight that took 3-AAA batteries too, and it was not nearly as light as this MIGHTY BRIGHT TRIPLE LED, and it only sported TWO LED's! Besides, it was configured in a way that made it bottom heavy. This MIGHTY BRIGHT is ERGONOMIC to the nth degree. It lays perfectly flat and balanced in the palm of your hand, and yes, that's with the batteries in it.
The Zelco had a telescopic feature too, but it was a kind of 'coiled' arm that was permanently extended to just a tad over 4-Inches. Bending about an Inch from the bottom, you only had a range of 3-Inches, NO WHERE NEAR enough to cover anything other than a paperback. As well, the two LED's were placed in a vertical pattern, which made the range of actual projected LIGHT virtually non-existant.
NOT SO with this MIGHTY BRIGHT TRIPLE LED! IT DOES IT ALL! and I'm not kidding! --->

SUMMARY:
--An actual working and adjustable TELESCOPING ARM;
--An LED HEAD that not only swivels, but LED's placed in a horizontal pattern that range the light OVER TWO PAGES (yes, this one actually DOES!);
--Excellent PORTABILITY because the telescoping arm is collapsible with the whole thing fitting neatly-balanced in the palm of your hand. It collapses to a total of 5-Inches long x 2-Inches wide x 1 1/4-Inches deep;
--Bulbs that'll last nearly forever;
--An AC Adaptor and one, I might add, that is so much lighter and so much more compact than the old heavy rectangular adaptors.
--You can set the base on a table-top and, because of its perfectly-balanced ergonomic design, it will act as a regular light would, casting illumination quickly where needed.

NO TRAVEL CASE:
There is only one thing I'm disappointed in. That this Deluxe Kit did not include its own carrying case to put the Light and Adaptor into when traveling. But, really, so what? A small make-up bag does the trick, *vbs*

I somewhat hesitantly purchased this book light after reading the bad review here and considering the cheaper options available. However, after using this product for a couple months, I can say I am very happy with the purchase and would buy it again. The ability to use AC adapter or batteries is great, even better is that the AC adapter is included. I find that the light is plenty bright enough to read, and unlike the previous reviewer I had no such troubles with needing to adjust the head. I set it once when I start reading and don't touch it again until I'm ready to turn it off. I do wish it was slightly thinner, but the thickness is due to the ability to accept AAA batteries which is probably worth the size. This also works well as a small bedside light, bright enough to see around the room but not bright enough to wake up someone who's already sleeping. Highly recommended.Honest reviews on Mighty Bright Telescoping Triple LED Deluxe Book Light Kit - Silver
I love this booklight. Prior to buying it I didn't like LED lights because they didn't light up enough area. This light changed that entirely. It's called a booklight, but it could also be labeled as a flashlight. I rarely use it as a booklight, but when I do it works just fine.The light illuminates a very defined area and that might be what the reviewer who said the neck wasn't long enough was talking about. It's easy to see the defined area: walk into a medium sized room (maybe 15 ft. x 15 ft.), make sure it's as dark as possible in the room, stand with your back to one wall of the room and aim the light at the far wall and turn it on. You will see a that the light illuminates a clear rectangular shape on the wall. If your trying to read a large book that has pages that are like 12 inches long and 8 inches wide the light may not be able to illuminate the entire page because of the length of the neck. But since the light can be aimed in tons of directions, it's not a big problem.
This light can easily light up a dorm room by itself, but it's not bright enough to wake up a sleeping roommate. I love this because it makes the light very useful if your roommate is asleep when you get back to your dorm room and you have to get ready for bed in the dark. I use this light as a flashlight most of the time.
One cool thing about this light is it's flexiblity. The light has a telescoping arm as you can see in the picture. When the arm is fully extended, it can bend forward and backward all the way to 90 degrees. The piece that houses the LEDs can also rotate forward and backward, as well as rotate 360 degrees. This light can replace those lights that clip to a hat, etc. This light is also useful for working in tight spaces when you need a little extra light and you can't hold a flashlight in your hand because of how bright it is and how flexible it is. The clip on it also pretty sturdy. I've clipped it to a metal bedframe before.
A way to test the battery life of this light: hold it in your hand about 1 ft. away from you. turn it on and turn it so that you're looking into the light. If you have to turn the light away quickly because it's hurting your eyes then the batteries are good. If you can look into the light without your eyes hurting then the batteries are low. I know it's kind of a stupid way to test the batteries, but it works.
Overall, this is a very good booklight and a very good LED flashlight. It's the best LED flashlight I've ever had and one of the best flashlights I've had. I very highly recommend it.
