These are great for night lights, which are typical 4 watts and don't last very long. The LED is only 2 watts but puts out more light than a typical 4 watt bulb, and I have yet to replace one, except to change to LED. I am in the process of changing any bulb that can be changed from mini-fluorescent or halogen to LEDs. LEDs are the wave of the future, and they generate very little heat. So burned fingers are not a problem. With power bills every increasing, it's nice to save a few buck$ and help the economy at the same time.
