I was leary of LED lighting expecting the output to be less than ideal. Well, I was wrong about these lights. I replaced the three 100w bulbs in the bathroom with 3 of these 12w LED lights from Sylvania (78907), and the bathroom was as well lighted as before. I was amazed. These generate a lot less heat. There is a slight humming noise with these bulbs, but you have to listen carefully to even notice it. Overall, these are very nice lights. I have ordered 3 more!

I got one of these from Lowe's to try it out. Bright steady light, good color, omnidirectional (not a spotlight), no flickering or humming sounds. Seems brighter than a normal 60 watt incandescent or CFL replacement, looks like a 100 watt equivalent to me but I don't have a lumen sensor so that's subjective. Can't comment on longevity yet. If they were $10 each I'd make them my standard bulb, but $30 is hard to justify.

I put three of these bulbs in a chandelier above my kitchen table, controlled by a Sylvania-approved dimmer switch. At full power there is only a very faint buzzing, but when I dim the bulbs about halfway the buzzing gets noticeably louder. I got these bulbs for free from my local power utility and am glad I didn't spend money on them. As LEDs continue to fall in price I will be looking to replace them.

Just bought from Lowes. Tried in several fixtures. Very definite buzzing noise. If you have bad hearing these are probably the bulbs for you. But to me it's like a crowd of mosquitoes in my head. Nasty electric mosquitoes.
