I got this $5.68 remote and the $7.70 44 key one from another company. This came as a 44 key remote also, weird, probably because that is what they had in stock to get it out the door fast as a Amazon Prime order. It did not fully function upon arrival. Red=Green and Blue=off. Since it gets me green I can use it as a backup for my boat fishing lights which are to be green. I will just leave the remote at home and have it preset and for spare controller mounted under the console just encase. I'll just plug the 12v and RGB pins into it from the old one. Plus for $5.68 I'd spend more in gas and time to replace it. I'm getting another spare from the other company So I'll have two fully working sets one on the boat working fully, one in storage/ dry, and the 3rd preset green back up on the boat. Maybe it's just bad luck, but this is the second one from here that is shoty; the last one that came with my kit did not go to green after 3 minutes of showing my wife and friends.

Also the remote did not have the plastic pull tab for the battery. So someone had used it before or at the least removed that tab. It was probably a return that they sent back out to me. While I'll keep it out of necessity to not drive 10 minutes to ship it + gas + 10 minutes back + stand in line for 20 minutes + 10 minutes to get a return authorization in the first place; I am warning you so you are not in my shoes in the near future.

I ordered several of these controllers for color changing LED strips. Each one was wired a little differently, with red and green or blue and green sometimes reversed. The built in colors on the remote don't usually reflect the actual color produced by the LEDs. The connections to the strips are also very delicate and don't usually stay in place. On the other hand, they were very bright, responded pretty well to the IR remote, and were very efficient, getting several hours out of an 1800 mah battery in a mobile application.

The product did not work. Only one output pin had power no matter what color was selected. Also, the ground pin was in the wrong place.

I bought this as a spare for the 5 meter color LED strip to use with the extra that I cut off. This controller has more brightness levels. It did have two LED connections swapped so the remote color buttons do not match the color generated on the LEDs but not a problem.

Update as of 4/10/13 the company has fixed the situation and I am very pleased with the customer service and how fast it was resolved.

I don't know if it is the remote or the LED lights I purchased. I had to rewire the strands of light to get them to all be on the same color. Blue=Green and Green=Blue and Red was Red.
