A few weeks ago some friends and I were talking about LED bulbs and we had a lively conversation about it. After the obligatory waffling, I took the plunge and bought a 75 watt replacement LED.
The product was a Sylvania 14 watt that puts out 1100 lumens in the 2700k color range; a warm white.
I have to admit that I love it. I have put it in various fixtures around the house, testing how it looks against different colors and textures and the results have been very good. During these changes I have not been telling my wife and she has not noticed any color problems. It has looked good to me in general, but she is a visible spectrum superchromat (yes, I did just drop a Brent Weeks reference) and the color of light put out by CFL bulbs or 'hotter' LEDs drives her bonkers. She is one of those people that will fuss over twenty shades of white paint because they are meaningfully different to her eyes and she hasn't been bothered by the changes with this Sylvania LED.
Starting in January, I think I'll start picking up one or two of these a month and replace our most commonly used lights. That way it will spread the expense out and I'll still get started on moving to modern bulbs.

I was lucky to pick up 6 of these for only about $20 apiece at auction on the 'bay. These 14 watt bulbs are at least as bright as the PHILIPS EnduraLED 17 Watt A21 Dimmable LED Light Bulb 1100Lm ~ 75w equiv which is also rated at 75 watt equivalent. This bulb puts out a neutral white light; white balance is rated at 2700K but seems a bit cooler to me, maybe because they're quite bright. Pretty impressive high-tech light bulb, I just hope it lasts as long as it's rated without fading in brightness over time, like compact florescents do.You're not getting a great deal more energy efficiency than a compact florescent bulb, but you're getting instant on at full brightness, which is nice, and they are brighter than I expected for only 14 watts. The bulb is also dimmable, can be used in outdoor fixtures from -4 to 109 degrees F, and the light is not directional, like many LED bulbs. In a ceiling fixture, they illuminate the whole room evenly, and look more like a traditional incandescent bulb. I was an early adopter of CFLs and they've come a long way but LED is the future. Still a bit pricey, but you will more than recoup the cost in energy savings over the lifespan of the bulb. I would definitely go with this over the Philips 17 watt.

I replaced all of my household lighting with 8W, 12W and 14W Sylvania Ultra LED lights 80% Energy Savings.I'm not a fan of CFC and Mercury, and after having a few explode during a power hit, I won't have them in my house anymore.
This is a 5 year investment and a major expense, but these should be the last light bulbs I ever buy 25,000 hour rating Life 23 Years!
Overhead Room Lights got 14W (75W replacements).
Bathrooms 8W and 12W (40W and 60W replacements).
Cupboards and Stove 8W (40W replacements).
There is a big price difference between the 8W and 12W/14W, so if you can get away using the 8W, that might be the way to go, especially if you have multiple bulb lights.
Light color is perfect 2700K. Full 360° light. Very little heat in the bulb. Size and shape is comparable to regular A19 lights.
The bulbs are a bit heavier and will droop down if on spring tabs.
I didn't experience any buzzing.
Price should come down because I just bought them today.
