Yes I know there are flashlights that are better than this one, if you have a extra 100 dollars or more to spend. But for the price it is hard to beat. I have a 2 million cp light that is 10 times larger and this light and this will match it and go beyond. Mine will go about 35 minutes on high power (blinding) or about 150 minutes on low.

Honest reviews on Super Bright CREE XM-L T6 LED Adjustable 1600lm Aluminum alloy

This flashlight is amazingly inexpensive for its claimed lumen output and for the included recharable Lithium cells and charger.

However, the actual light output is just a tiny fraction of the "max output" of 1600 lumens. My measuremnts indicate around 400 lumens when on the brightest setting and minimum zoom. At maximum zoom the total light output drops by about one third.

Also, I am not a fan of flashlights that switch between modes, especially ones including the hightly annoying strobe and SOS, when turning the light on and off. You have to then sequence through all the other modes to get to the one you want (using a partial press of the tail switch.)

Although the page here says the flashlight is by Cree, I really doubt that anything other than the LED was made by the American company Cree, Inc.

Meaurement details

Although I have no means of accurate lumen measurement, I was able to compare with other flashlights using a ceiling bounce technique with a homemade light meter. The other flashlights were a Fenix E11 rated at 105, a Fenix E21 rated at 154 and an EagleTac M2XC4-3R2 with claimed 800 lumens. The lightmeter voltages were:

E11: 0.025

E21: 0.041

EagleTac: 0.147

Cree High: 0.101 -> 0.034 (lens wide to spot)

Cree Med: 0.050

Cree Low: 0.013

Also, on a lark, I bought the unbelievably inexpensive "BBQbuy@7w 300lm Mini Cree Led Flashlight Torch Adjustable Focus Zoom Light Lamp."

Its reading was 0.017 -> 0.009 (min zoom to max) and

on low, 0.005 min zoom.

This indicates the actual max lumen output is about 70 (not 300.)
