I bought six of these for use in a canopy tent to give some ambient light. Of the six, 4 had several LED's not functioning upon arrival. The magnets are okay, but not very strong. They don't cast a very wide range of light either. I returned them all.

A friend helped me with a car battery cable one evening late. He grabbed his light like this out of his glove box, and used the magnet to stick it to the open hood of the vehicle. Lots of light, and lots of places to put it.

I bought a box of them for Xmas presents and stocking stuffers last year. I get a big thrill when I see my friends an family using these lights! Even my brother, the handy man and lover of good lights uses this one more than his others.

If there is no metal place that the magnet can stick, I just pull out the hidden hook build in to the light, and hook it over something. For example, when reading inside a tent when camping I use the hook. I keep one of these lights at the barn, and it sticks to the metal gate in my horse stall.

With the LED's the original batteries are still working.

Really bright lightsHanger piece seems delicate and cheaply made. Came on its own without any more packaging except a long sticker along the side that does not come off cleanvery hard to get all pieces and residue off actually. Light is super bright, just what I needed, but annoyingly packaged.

I bought both this item, "27 LED Super Bright Deluxe Glow Work/Utility Light" (green, sold by HobbyDealz), and the "Magnetic w/Hook and MAXCRAFT 60191 27-LED Compact Worklight" (yellow, sold by amazon). It appears they are the same lights, but the green one has no manufacturers label (Maxcraft).

1 The description said "batteries not guaranteed". They meant "batteries not guaranteed to be there". The yellow one from amazon came with batteries.

2 The light came with no instructions whatsoever. (unlike the yellow one sold my Amazon).

3 There were 3 small screws to open the light. The plastic they screw into is so soft that one of the screws just spun. No, they screw was not stripped. I had to pry it out in order to open the light to put batteries in.

4 The flashlight is very weak. It could be used to unlock a door at night but that's about it.

5 The only reason I gave it two stars is because the work/utility light on the face is very bright.

I use this in a closet which has no direct light. It has been working effectively and I will likely purchase another one.
