I purchased 4 these lights February 23, 2013 and use them in a wire kitchen light fixture from IKEA. Last week (July 24, 2013) the first light failed and over the weekend a second light has failed. Disappointing! These lights have been used in what I would consider as light duty application. The lights augment the lighting in the kitchen and not the main lighting source. They are not used every day and the cycles of on/off are minimal. Lights of any type should last longer than 5 months. The lights have not overheated as light project beyond the plastic light fixture. So beware the light may fail after a couple of months. I will start looking for a replacement lights from someone else. What a shame...

Installed these in a Paradise 50w landscape spotlight and fit perfectly. No noticeable difference to the 50w halogen for the ones that worked. One of the 5 bulbs I ordered did not work and Torchstar quickly shipped a new one and stands behind their product! I will purchase more given Torchstars great service.

Update 9/1/2013: From March to July I bought 10 torchstar LED and over the last month 4 more have failed. I would not recommend this brand due to a high failure rate.

I replaced the 4W LED lights with those 6W light bulbs next to the wall in the outside of the house. It gives a nice reflective light on the steps to the front door. It is bight but not too excessive bight.

Honest reviews on LED MR16 3200K Warm White Spotlight 12V 6W (375 Lumen - 50 Watt

When I first installed this as a replacement, I was disappointed because the warmth (kelvin value) of the light was not quite what I was expecting. But it put out a very good amount of light and I was pleased. Well, about a few weeks has passed and one day, without any warning, the intensity of the this spotlight dimmed very noticeably. By comparison, the Phillips units seem way, way overpriced compared to bulbs like this one. But here's the thing: if you are using these indoors and want a warmer light, check out the Phillips offerings. If warm light isn't important, and you can live with an early and quite dramatic decrease in light intensity, these are fine. The cost and wattage usage are big plus factors. Just rein in your expectations.
