It's not the most robust, but once you have it up what does it matter? Flexible in that you can hang it from above or by the side with both faces showing, or as we did against a wall by swapping one face with a supplied backing plate. Inserts allow you to block off either the < or > or both so only EXIT shows.
Our installation method wasn't pretty, but passed inspection: cut off the end of an outdoor 3-pronged extension cord; expose the 3 wires; pass the cord in from the sign's top or either side; attach cord's wires to the corresponding sign's wires inside. Plug in the cord and the sign is in action. The LED lights do the job without sucking too much electricity.

This is a decent quality plastic exit sign. The quality is acceptable, and there are several options for mounting. I used an old extension cord to wire this so I can just plug it in.
