theses shallow 6" can light housings worked well in a basement with 2x6 joists. the clips work well if the hole in the sheetrock is precisely cut, they are wire up easily, are durable and sturdy, and i expect no trouble, after all they are cooper lights. my only complaint is that there was not any 6" shallow cooper "new construction" type housings available when i purchased these. since i was redoing the ceiling anyway, i would have preferred to attach them to the rafters...

great product although getting a trim to fit is another matter. The can itself works great and is a life saver when you have plumbing, electrical etc. in the way. it is a well made product but the description did not say Halo (Cooper) but it is makes it easier to find trims to fit.
