Installed this strip along wall-mounted molding, pointed up to wash the wall, and it is noticeably bright on white and plenty bright when showing colors. I used an audio-sensing controller, which produces a "dance party" effect that my pre-teen daughter just loves and it lights the room enough that I have to turn down the brightness a bit for a less intense effect. Perfect for my indoor application, I didn't want or need the waterproof coating. NOTE: The actual range of colors that can be displayed is a function of the controller used, not the strip itself. Make sure you purchase the separate controller that does what you want, there are many to choose from, including TaoTronics RGB Music Controller 2 Ports Output for Color Changing LED Strips with Remote Control 144w, 5050rgb. You'll also need a power supply, I used Waterproof IP67 LED Driver Transformer 100 Watt 12V Power Supply with double output which should have enough juice to add another 150 LED strip.

I was looking for a good way to light my wife's project tabletop. I was able to take this strip, cut it into 3 parts and mount them parallel to each other on the shelf above a work surface of about 7 feet. It provides very adequate illumination along with the flexibility of being able to choose the color. Most importantly this strip is such low profile that any ledge can block the usual glare that light sources can produce and there are no bulbs to get hot or bump into and break. The adhesive seems to be working nicely but make sure you apply it to a smooth clean surface. The power supply can draw as much as 42 watts when powering one of these strips so they do use more power than say an equivalent brightness LED light bulb, but the form factor is tremendously flexible. I can see myself lighting up my steps and putting lighting around the high molding in the room with these. Lotsa Fun!! :-) (It is best to master the art of soldering, though)

Love the price on these lights and love how fast they arrived. Usually LED's take weeks to arrive from China but these came fast. One small issue I had was that the green and blue wires seem to be swapped on all 3 rolls I received. I dont know if that is a quality control issue or what.

Lucky i am plugging them into a music controller so I just switched the G and B inputs on the controller and they worked perfectly.

First off, the picture used for this item currently might be a little misleading. These are considered "dumb" LED strips meaning that the entire strip or cut section must be the same color. You cannot have individual elements at different colors or intensity levels because this strip uses less expensive 5050 elements. A 3528 based strip also pictured above is much more expensive and lets you control each section independently. If you just need a single color at a time this strip is perfect.

You also need an external 12V power supply and LED controller if you want to change the colors on these strip. Those are cheap but make sure you pick one up.

Three things really impressed me with this strip:

1) This strip uses 60 5050 LED elements per meter. That's twice as dense as you typically find with most strips having only 30 LED elements per meter. That means these are twice as bright and that the strip can also be cut in much smaller sections since both sizes have cut points every 3 elements. This strip also consumes twice as much power so keep that in mind for longer runs.

2) This roll came with convenient beginning and end plugs already installed. If you want to use the whole strip and connect another strip to the end there's no cutting or soldering required.

3) Price. This strip is easily between 50% and 60% of the cost of comparable strips. I also received my order in 2 days with free Prime shipping. Fantastic product and great shipping. I'm buying two more rolls now.
