March 2012 I purchased 4 of these bulbs for outside motion sensor.

They work just as Mfg claim. Shipping was quick. Product packaged well. Bulbs are much brighter than any other bulbs 2200 luminous. The product claims they last for 2500 hours. This month one bulb failed.

Although I like the product and the seller Bulbrite I am disapointed I cannot return the defective bulb seeing I am over the 30 days return policy. There is no way this bulb was in use for 2500 hours. I use them on a motion sensor which hardly goes on and timed for 15 minutes lighting duration then turns of. At the most these bulbs were in use for 100 hours since I purchsed them in March 2012. I wish I could return the defective unit and have it replaced.

Follow Up December 2012:

Since my first review 3 out of 4 bulbs have failed in less than 200 hours of use. the bulbs I purchased were never in use for 2500 hours.

Our new-to-us house has three double-light outdoor security flood lights; one set out front over our garage and driveway, and two sets jointly covering the back and side yards). Shortly after moving in we realized that two of the six bulbs were out and the other four looked very, very tired.

About nine months ago we replaced them all with these Bulbrite 120v 150w bulbs and have been happy with the purchase.

The security flood light fixtures are mounted just under the eaves right under the soffit, so the bulbs in the fixtures are fairly well protected from direct snow and rain (though some blowing precipitation surely gets on them from time to time). Most are angled down between 20 to 45 degrees from horizontal in order to throw a good amount of light into the open areas.

These bulbs were easy to install, none were broken or damaged in shipment, and they shine brightly -just what we wanted. The bulbs are still going strong and we have not had any water / freeze issues at all. Based on this experience, we plan to purchase more when time comes again to refresh or replace the ones we have.

If you have a similar need and are looking for a 120v 150w floodlight bulb of this type and style, we recommend these.

Originally I thought about economizing with a LED, but then I thought since its going on a motion sensor Halogen would be nice since it will only be on for 4 minute clips.

We used 8 of these bulbs in outdoor flood lights on a new construction home. Within a few months at least 3 of the 8 bulbs were partially filled with rain water. Then freezing temps caused the water to freeze and the bulbs to break. I would not recommend these bulbs for outdoor use.
