I ordered the light shown but received a screw in flood light bulb! Geez, now I have to figure out what to do and if it's even worth it without ending up doubling my costs.
POST EDIT The vendor made a correction and was sincere in their apology. The return process cost me nothing and was made easy by the vendor. The new light works great, although the cord to the transformer could be a bit longer.
Additional note to viewers the "warm light" is very "brown" and actually looks bad in my opinion (was hoping to get a incandescent tone). I got one of each and have to recommend to pure or cool white like this light has. It's not "blue" like many CFL light bulbs but a very natural light.

Very nice item. I ordered the Yantouch Jellyfish with two other items, the Phillips Living Colors 2 and the Lzr Sphere Light Projector from Unique Gagets & Toys. The Jellyfish is my favorite of the three. The colors are great, and very adjustable. There is saturation and hue gradients which allow the Jellyfish to be set to an astounding variety of colors and brightness. The flow setting moves the colors through the spectrum in a preset configuration that reminds me of a color wheel. Finally there is a preset which includes several colors at one time, a sort of rainbow. The Jellyfish is not bright enough to read by, nor can it be clearly seen by daylight. It does not cast light into a room, or onto the ceiling. It is made of sturdy plastic which allows the cool temperature LED style lights inside to cast their glow onto the shell that encases them, creating a mellow and attractive color scheme to be seen. The weakness of this item is its touchpad the interface between the user and the results. Either mine is problematic or the method is. My impression is the design is weak, not my specific item. It is supposed to respond to touch commands, the point touched determining the color result, the duration of the contact and direction of the movement are supposed to effect changes in the saturation of the color, and the type of results you get are responsive to this input. In reality it strikes me as fidgety and more random in outcome it is determined by these input commands. Nevertheless this is a great little night light. If I had kids I would give it to them, since I don't I get to keep it.
Great Christmas present!
to begin, the light is far too dim. it is designed to be pointed at a surface and the surface helps to increase the strength of the light in the room/area. i can't see how this is useful for anything, also i find the colors and rainbow mode ugly. it's still too dark to be useful you will need another light source if you plan to do anything (like reading which is impossible using only this light).
the worst part is, when it is in rainbow mode (fades in and out through the colors) i actually find this really annoying and distracting. it's just not at all pleasant having the colors changing constantly.
the advertising says that it can show millions of colors, which i don't believe. when you scroll through the colors and choose one, it isn't the same tone and hue to the color that you selected. probably the most disappointing thing about this. it doesn't feel like it has a lot of colors. i do graphic design, studied art, am good at creating colors using just red, blue, green paints. i'm sure that this thing doesn't have as many tones of color as advertised.
i'm not sure what to do with this unit now, is it worth the effort to have one of my walls being cycled through a few neon colors? no.
i wanted this as a pretty low light reading lamp and yesterday bought an Artemide tolomeo a color that i'll enjoy.
the pricing is too high for this which has no practical use.

The Yantouch Jelly Fish Night Light is so cool. I love how the light continually changes colors and the multi color setting.Honest reviews on Yantouch Touch Control Jellyfish Night Light LED Lamp
I got this light as a christmas gift and I love it! I can't stand being in a pitch black room so I usually leave a small night light plugged in. But most of the time they are just too bright [I have a very small room, so it doesn't take much to light up my room]! With this light I can pick any color in any hue, light or dark. You are able to pick a color and either turn the brightness up or down which makes this great! Anyone looking for a reading lamp should not buy this, why would you want a colored light to read with anyway? I love that I can pick a different color to fit my mood. The only thing I don't like is the changing rainbow effect, it isn't very pleasant.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Yantouch Touch Control Jellyfish Night Light LED Lamp

I bought this product for my daughter when she was 18 months old. She loves it! I love it because when I go into her room at night to check on her I can turn it on and see whithout a lot of light. The batteries are VERY long lasting. We have had this for 6 months now and it's still in the same shape as the day we gave it to her. Since she is a toddler she has thrown this on the floor before. To my surprise it was fine, not even a scratch. I have now bought another one for my 2nd child, who is due shortly. This is a great product!
The only caveat is that the nightlight did not come with the small plush turtle. I wrote to the seller, and they say that it is on backorder (it's been a month), so don't advertise the small plush turtle to the kids (as we did with our birthday girl.) Otherwise, a hit.

My kids love this turtle night light. They turn it on every night at bedtime, along with a clock radio tuned to a classical station with the radio on 45-minute sleep mode. The whole setup has worked just great for a nice segue from playtime to chill out time. The only caveat is that the nightlight did not come with the small plush turtle. Great, till it stops working. Seems a waste to have to throw it away when the lights burn out, I'd happily replace them. But without the lights, it isn't a very cuddly toy.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Twilight Turtle - Constellation Night Light
this is a cute night light. It does not produce that much light and if you want to use it for finding constalations... buy a different product. You would have to set the light 4 feet or perhaps even closer to the ceiling to see the constallations. However, for my purposes of keeping my 3 month old (who loves to stare at lights) entertained I'm happy. I like the that automatic shut off is long... the lights stay on for 45 minutes.Neiko 40367 9 LED NINE Super-Bright LED Flood Light Head Lamp Review

I'm a technologist, and spend time under desks, inside equipment cabinets, and up in ceilings. A good hands-free light is a great tool to have.
The light itself is very good. Despite only using three AAA cells, the brightest setting provided a lot of light. The small battery also meant it was small and lightweight. The headband, with a loop around and a loop over, was pretty good.
It has three brightness settings, plus a flashing setting, plus "Off". That is all controlled by a single push-button, which cycles through the settings. I found this more annoying than anything else -I'd rather a simple on/off. I always went for the brightest setting. I think this is more of a gimmick than anything else.
More seriously, it suffers from from cheap construction. Thin plastic. A piece of cosmetic trim broke off almost right away. The lens over the light tended to get loose and fall off easily. And the plastic clips holding the band off broke off after a few months, turning it into a hand-held flashlight.
If it was a more durable design, this would be a great product. As is, it's just not strong enough for real-world use.
Bottom line = Crap.
Don't buy unless it's for someone you don't like.

I bought two of these. One of them had a switch that would not keep the light on. It would only work if you held the button. This appears to be a common problem with this particular light. this light is sturdy and bright, but I wish that its wire were longer. I had to splice a piece of wire in order to connect it to the power source, which was not very far away. Otherwise, it is a great product at an affordable price. Plus, it showed up the day after I ordered it.

Used these to replace existing lights that have been in for 7-8 years. Work fine so far and have ordered additional. Easy to install to replace existing, I would recommend NOT using the clip that punctures the existing electrical wire. I cut, striped and attached wires with screw on cap and electrical tape for extra protection. I wish the halogen bulbs lasted longer, but that has been a problem unless LED are used.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Malibu 8301-9601-01 50 Watt Cast Metal Flood Lights, Black Matte
Where the two pieces join and lock together, the area is prone to corrosion that literally locks the two together and cannot be separated. Using a small ratchet handle, I was able to separate them by tapping around the side of the light, thus breaking the corrosion and then I used white lithium grease to prevent further corrosion from occuring.Best Crystal Chandelier w/ White LED Acrylic White 6001/4CY Deals

It is not a common chandelier but my wife loved the contemporary look.
Pros: Beautiful, different, can be controlled via remote control (included), and the two lighting modes (leds and/or incandescent) are nice.
Cons: Included support plate not stiff enough for the weight of the chandelier and I noticed some minor defects in the chromed supporting pipes (not really visible after the chandelier is installed).

They work just as expected... They outlet part is big though... Depening on the outlet size, it was sometimes difficult to use the second wall outlet due to the size of this thing, but I got it to work.
*NOTE* the seller is selling "Two" 3 packs. This is accurate, I recieved two packs of three, however, one issue, both packs were programmed with the same channel. So if I had a #1 downstairs and upstairs, both controllers would control both (so I was turning lights on and off downstairs when I was upstairs).... I thought about sending one back but then had an amazing epiphany (and yes, it took me about a day to figure this out)...lol.. I have two lamps downstairs in the living room that I used both #1's on, so one click and both lamps come on.. same thing with my bedroom, two lamps, used both #2's.
Actually I think this works out better this way! So maybe they send two packs with the same channel on purpose! LOL
The first set of three that I opened, had a defective unit in it. The three would all turn themselves off and on with the remote, but one of them would not cycle the power to what was plugged into it.
Not wanting to bother my son (who gave them to me) with the return process, and having some experience with electronics, I decided to pop it open to see what the issue was. Getting past one of the six screws that hold the two halves of the case together (one of the screws had a QA sticker covering the access hole by the way) revealed two circuit boards. The main board had the relays on it that applied or removed power to whatever is plugged into the unit. This relay had a bad solder joint on it causing the issue. I resoldered the joint, reassembled the unit and voila. It worked.
Being somewhat satisfied, I opened up the second set of three and noticed that the little sticker on the remote had the same 4 digit code on it as the first set of three. I was thinking, no... they wouldn't package up two sets with the same code programmed into them now would they? Yup. They most certainly did. There were no included instructions for the user on how to change the code.
The bottom line is, I guess I'll have to give the second set to someone else, because it is unusable to me with the same code.

This is the third time I have ordered "super switches" for a total of seven units. My husband thinks they are the best thing I have ever ordered. We have corner lights that are hard to reach the on/off switch. I just plug them into the super switch, plus my candle warmer and all I have to do is press button one, two, or three and without leaving my chair I can turn the lights on or off. I gave sets to our children and they use them for their Christmas tree and their outdoor Christmas lights plus their inside lights. I haven't installed it yet, but it is attractive, looks well constructed and was well packed. Most impressively, especially at this price point, is they had the good sense to include pairs of 4 different finishes of the little exposed cap nut that you see on the left and right of the sconce. The finishes included are: black, white, nickel and oil-rubbed bronze. Given how inexpensive these are for them to provide, it is very smart (dealers don't have to stock multiple versions) and so useful for the consumer.it was obviously a return that was damaged and returned without all of it's parts. second time I ordered a light from amazon. second time it came damaged. not worth the hassle of the return. never buying lights or breakable materials off amazon again.

Probably the equivalent of 30-35w incandescent bulb (did side by side comparison with 40w CFL, and it was dimmer, but not terrible); good side and up light throw. Used for a month before writing this review. Light is very white, maybe a slightly blue'ish tint. Using 2 in bedside lamps for the price they serve the purpose.
Installed both in lamps in my home office in June 2012. Each gets used 2-5 hours per day on average.
One bulb flickered died in December 2012 (6 months). Upon inspection, the plastic rim at the top appears to have begun to melt, warp, and crack. This means it was far outlasted by a lot of the CFL bulbs in my house, which produce better light
The other bulb was working, but after the overheating/melting issue, I just don't feel it is safe to continue to use these bulbs.
(Also, I purchased 2 of the 12W 60LED version of this bulb as well. One of those failed with a melted plastic rim after 3 months of use, usually in 3 hour blocks, 3 times per day. Our electric bill was very high the month it failed, but I'm not sure if there is a correlation.)
As a designer constantly looking for excellent products for our clients, this is definitely a hit!

This light bulb fits into a standard socket and works very well with a desk lamp or other fixture in which you want light emitted from more than 45-90 degrees (like many LED light bulbs do). I have a faux-mica desk lamp and this bulb lights up the entire shade--not just the very top. The color is bright white. I really like this bulb and highly recommend it.Honest reviews on E27 8W Led 5050 Smd Pure White Corn Light Bulb Lamp
Purchased a pair of these. The light is blue-ish and not quite as bright as I'd hoped, but they work well paired in fixture with a warmer colored LED bulb, especially nice for applications where brightness is not desired (in the room where we watch TV).Installed both in lamps in my home office in June 2012. Received the correct bulbs today and immediately tried them out. Wow! This is a nice evenly spread light. It is "pure white" which isn't necessarily blue, but on the cooler side of white. I selected this step light while looking for a fixture to illuminate my porch steps. Many of the other options out there were more expensive and required installing a transformer as well. This handy little fixture fit the bill nicely. You will need to provide your own standard electrical box to house it, I had some extra remodel pvc remodel boxes around that did the trick. Don't worry if the color choices don't suit you as a quick coat of paint takes care of that. All in all a good deal.

These aren't sold in stores. I have installed 7 of these over the long weekend and am in the process of installing another 8. They illuminate the staircase perfectly. I am going to put them in all four of the bathrooms and a couple in the hallway. Most of them will be controlled by switch with the exception of 4 that will run 24/7. 7 watts doesn't take much energy to operate. They work better than the more expensive LED version ($15-$25 each) and give off much more light. I wouldn't waste my time with the LED version. They are also much nicer looking and easier to install than the traditional larger recessed staircase light that takes a 25-40 watt standard lightbulb and costs $28 each at Home Depot.Best Deals for Royal Pacific 8905WH Mini Indoor Incandescent Step Light, 7-Watt

They are perfect for gently lighting up a walkway, and they are much cheaper than the LED units that are currently available. Everyone that comes to our house comments on them. I would buy them again in a heartbeat.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Royal Pacific 8905WH Mini Indoor Incandescent Step Light, 7-Watt
These light are bright enough for use at my door/steps. I looked at LEDs but they were to expensive. At my previous home I had a LED version but you can not beat these incandescent lights or brightness.Cheap LEDwholesalers 1313BU 8 Watt PAR38 Blue LED High Power Grow Light

Bulb came in a box with a sticker that says 1313BU-CV Par38 8W. Over that sticker they just placed another sticker that says 1313BU 15 Watt. The bulb itself has PAR38 8W written on it. I took a power meter and measure the power drawn by the bulb... 8 watts. By my best guess they took an 8 Watt bulb and are trying to pass it off as 15 Watt one.
I may need more of these in the future and due to the good value and modularity of these, I may buy several more instead of a pricier, higher wattage single unit.
So, the bulb is 8W and works perfectly. I bought it for a nightlight for my aquarium actually, it's plenty bright and seems to be very well made. I would buy again.
Returned the bulb and got a replacement. The new one is still 8 Watts.
I decided to give it a try anyway starting some Russian heirloom seeds. They all stretched to no end and died.
This bulb is terrible.
Returning the second one too.

This bulb is very bright! (500 Lumens) I've been using it for over a year with no problems. My Venus Fly Traps are growing like weeds! :0)Best Deals for LEDwholesalers 1313BU 8 Watt PAR38 Blue LED High Power Grow Light
I was a little skeptical of these lights, but they have exceeded my expectations. They are very bright, and a great addition to any lighting setup for more oomph in the vegetation cycle. The only downside is that I wish it had a little more range in its wavelengths besides pure 450nm. My research tells me that plants would grow a little better when they get more of a subtle range of blue wavelengths. It has been working great though; my plants' leaves were starting to turn a little yellow from too much red light, since blue light helps the development of chlorophyll. Two days under these guys, and they are healthy and green again!I may need more of these in the future and due to the good value and modularity of these, I may buy several more instead of a pricier, higher wattage single unit.

A lot of reviews on this are bad because they thought they were getting a 15W bulb and it was an 8. Amazon seems to have fixed the title but didn't take down the reviews. So, the bulb is 8W and works perfectly. This is the third time I order some form of bulb from Amazon which comes at half the claimed power (see photo). I don't understand why they're not doing anything about it.Returned the bulb and got a replacement. The new one is still 8 Watts.
I decided to give it a try anyway starting some Russian heirloom seeds. They all stretched to no end and died.

Love this little guy. For the price, it's fantastic. It was recommended to me by a friend, and I use it on my work table as a spot lamp. It has been great. Very, very bright for such a small lamp, and it is solidly constructed & points firmly wherever you direct it. I may get another for my desk. While it is bright, it is somewhat concentrated does not cover a huge area. Would be good for a desk lamp as it does not take up much surface space, and I find it extremely helpful as a task light for doing detail work. There is a tiny bit of assembly required, but I am a complete moron and it only took me about a minute to "assemble" the base. I highly recommend this little lamp.
The lamp is as good as anything out there, once the switch is replaced. Seems Ikea -whose products are ever leading the race to the bottom in quality, consistency and durability -saves pennies per unit by using a very cheaply and poorly designed/manufactured switch. Surprised?
Easy to remedy, if you have an amateur's skill with electricals. The connection inside the switch is the "pinch" kind, aka "insulation displacement" type, which is why the light flickers or just stops working. Ikea could care less, of course. But there's no need to throw the lamp away, without at least giving this a try first.
Step by step fix for a flickering lamp.
Tools: phillips screw driver, wire cutters, wire strippers, hammer, eye protection
Go to a locally owned hardware store, and buy a Leviton single pole cord switch, cat no. 5410, or equivalent. Leviton 5410 Appliance Switch, Feed-Through Switch Rocker, Single Pole, Single Throw, 3A-125V AC, Brown (Don't buy the pinch kind. It won't work, since this lamp does not use standard gauge lamp wire. Also, I can't recommend buying an inline dimmer, since this is an Ikea product we're talking about, and it could easily melt or exude meatball gravy or lingonberry juice.)
Unplug the lamp, and remove the existing lamp switch by smashing it with a hammer. Yes, you have to smash it, don't cut the wire.
Put on safety glasses or some sort of eye protection, and hold the switch sideways (seam up) on something hard and well supported, like a concrete floor or doorway threshhold, not a table or countertop. Hammer the switch straight down on the seam. Two or three well placed whacks, and you get the halves to split open enough to tear them apart by hand.
You'll see two lines, one cut, the other continuous. Pull out both lines. Discard and banish all further thought of the now-broken and defeated carcass of the worthless Ikea switch.
Cut the ends of the already cut line, removing the "pinch" connectors. Discard those too. Don't cut the uncut half of the wire.
Strip the insulation from the ends you just cut, about 1/2 inch.
Unbolt the casing of the new switch, and you can easily see where your exposed wire ends should go. (Twisting your wire ends before wrapping and tightening under the lead screws helps. The Leviton thing comes with instructions and diagram, but you can ignore the polarity issue, the plug used in this lamp is not polarized.)
Put your new switch back together, and you should now have something almost no one else on Earth has even seen: an Ikea Jansjo lamp which will actually work -until the bulb burns out, that is. Guess I'll write another review when that time comes.
The gooseneck is about 19" long, meaning it's difficult to position without an unaesthetic, ungainly appearance.
The light beam is extremely narrow. At 8" above the desk, it illuminates only a 9" circle.
The switch is on the power cord, about 12" from the base, meaning one cannot hang the power cord off the back of the desk.
The lamp has a wall-wart power supply.
I'm sure the product is well made, but the design is really not suitable for my own, personal workspace.
Next time I was there, I bought the exact same lamp to replace the unusable one. Same thing: about a month later, it stopped working. It would spontaneously dim then not stay on at all.
I love IKEA. Half our furniture is from IKEA. This is the only IKEA product I've ever been disappointed with.

Backstory: I got two of these lamps, and both flickered from day 1. I love this little lamp! Here in the Caribbean (where electricity costs 4-times what it did back in the states) you do everything you can to cut electric usage, and this little 4.2W LED lamp is perfect! It's quite bright for studying and also doesn't produce any noticeable heat. Assembly was easy (just screw in 2 phillips-head screws). So I ordered 3 more.Honest reviews on Ikea Black Jansjo Desk Work Led Lamp Light

This lamp stopped working after about 1 month of extremely light use. We only used it for 15-30 mins each night to read his bedtime stories. The lamp is high on a table where my son cannot get to it.Next time I was there, I bought the exact same lamp to replace the unusable one. Same thing: about a month later, it stopped working.
