This light is rated at 130 lumen which is quite bright.

It is not super bright like some flashlights, but it doesn't need to be.

Work lights are usually used to light up small areas like attics, under counters etc...

This light does it perfectly.

One of the best features of this light is the articulating head. This allows the head to virtually

spin 360 in all directions. You can basically set it on your table and light up anything above the

table at any angle you want.

Another fantastic feature is the magnetic back. This allows you to attach it to anything magnetic.

Great feature for hands-free use.

There is also a ring loop which allows you to hang it on a hook, or rope it somewhere.

Finally there is a belt clip to hang from your pocket or belt.

Great compact light with lots of power. Finally they do without the light bulb.

This light blows away my old DEWALT DW908 18-Volt NiCd Pivoting Head Cordless Flashlight which was plagued

with bulb problems.

Also this light is much more compact although not the most comfortable to hold.

That is probably the biggest downfall. It is an awkward shape making it weird to hold.

My dad got me thing along with a DeWalt 12v Li-Ion combo kit for x-mas. This light pumps out bright white light, in any direction, and lasts several days per charge for me (I work 8-10 hour days as an HVAC tech). The magnet isn't quite strong enough to hold the light on some of the narrower edges of equipment I usually service, but it is still handy. The kickstand is a good way to prop it up, but usually I can get it focused where I need it laying on the battery, or broader side. The belt clip can be used to hang it on romex or other skinny wires, in addition to belts.

The other review mentions the awkward shape of the unit as a whole, but I look at it glass-half-full; that is, the minimalist design makes for a very small package, relative to the hours of bright light it can provide. No bulbs means dropping it won't kill it, or at least the several mine has taken have had little affect. A great accessory if you already are using 12V DeWalt Li-Ion, maybe a little pricey if bought standalone (requiring you to also purchase a battery and charger).

Worked as a Electrician/Handyman for 20+years now and when the 18v series came out I had to have them. They have served there purpose and have done it well for a long time. That being said I no longer have a need to use the power of a 18volt and deceided to get the 12v series for ease of use and weight savings. I decided to get the 12v impact drill and driver after finding the reveiws here to be very favorable, and with the recent deals do to fathers day the price was cheap enough that I deceded to buy them individually that way I got two drills and four batteries. I found the 12v DeWalt lite here for 13.90 and thought I could'nt go wrong for that price. I was more than happy with the light, the performance blows away the old 18v lights, and the size is perfect to me. I only wish for the price I paid for it I would have ordered a couple of them.

Use nightly to take the dogs outside.

Worklight is hard to hold if carrying other things.

Very bright, white light. Lithium ion battery outlasts, keeps it's charge better than any nicad. This light outperforms 18V LI Bosch light in brightness and usable light. LED LI systems are the best combination.

Good replacement for our 12V Nicad Dewalt light, which can't hold charges anymore.

I would recommend this light.

Follow up. Almost a year later, this light still performs just like new. Use it every night.

I use my LED light at work. I build Fire trucks for a living and I do a good bit of work under the trucks. The LED is very bright and lights the work area very nicely. The light head articulates to shine light where you need it. The battery lasts a long time but not 8 hours of continues use. A nice feature is that the light flashes twice when you need to replace the battery. Swapping the battery with your spare takes a second and your back to work.

The only thing I would change is the magnet and I would add a hook. The magnet is ok but not as strong as I would like it. It is also easy to bump it off if it is upside down. To use it under a vehicle you need to have it in all kinds of positions. That is why I would also like to see it have a hook. Overall I am very pleased with this light and it is quick becoming my favorite go to light. I would recommend it to just about anybody.

The brightness rating is accurate and the color temperature is about right at the 4000k that it claims. This LED addresses the problem with LED's and their lack of red output. If there isn't enough red in the light things look sort of washed out. I wish this was available is a slightly warmer temperature such as 3500, that way I could mix it with other bulbs more easily. If you are going to switch an entire room over then it would not be a problem. Overall very good color. I docked one star because there is a slight noise that can be heard only within inches of the bulb. Most of my LED's produce some noise like this one however I do have LED's that are silent and so minus one star. The heat generated is very low, the heat sink design seems good.

I would love to see a 3500k version of this bulb.

I like these lights, or at least the idea of them. I attempted to purchase four of the same lights, but what I ended up getting were four slightly different colored lights. Luckily, amazon was very helpful in remedying this issue. As far as whether I would recommend these, maybe, if you're patient.

Brightness is good, similar to a 40W incandescent. Lights up very fast if dimmer is full up; if you turn it on partially dimmed, it takes a few seconds to come up to the set brightness. Dims smoothly down to about 40-50%, then abruptly goes to about 10-20% brightness. If I turn it off and back on at a dimming setting below the abrupt step, it will not light up; I have to raise the dimmer to 50% or more to get it to light up. If I turn it off and back on at a dimming setting just above the abrupt step, it may or may not light up. The low brightness output below the step is inconsistent; I didn't wait to see if it varied over time. Because of the step in the dimming response, I can't get light between 25% and 40% of full brightness.

Good if you don't need deep dimming; pitiful otherwise.

Can't beat this for the price. Got it for a dimmable touch desk lamp -works like a charm.

Only downside is because LEDs draw so little power, my lamp's off setting still has the LED glowing slightly. I don't think this is the bulb's issue, but rather a product of LED's efficiency.

We have a kitchen full of Lightolier 4" recessed lights, 14 of them. For some reason, the original MR-16 sockets fail over time, becoming loose in the way they grip the pins of the bulbs. They also seem to corrode and the electrical contact becomes imperfect. I was replacing the sockets only when I had to, because sockets from Lightolier were so expensive and other brands hard to find. With this purchase, I now have a reasonably priced supply and routinely replace the original sockets if there is any sign at all of looseness or poor contact. There have been no failures of the new sockets.

If you want to place low voltage MR16 or MR1 bulbs in areas like skylight soffits etc. and not buy a fixture, this is the way to go. Screws down on the surface and takes either bulb. Can use regular low voltage bulbs or LED's. Have many spots like over bookcases, skylights, soffits, cabinets that are hidden but the lights light up the ceiling or whatever, but are invisible. All hooked together on the same transformer, or several. Go on with an electric eye and are like night lights throughout the house.

I use these to replace the predictable internal corrosion of underwater MR16 lights in my fish ponds. The fixtures are quite costly and do not remain 'waterproof' for too long. Consequently, corrosion of the sockets occurs. These are great for inexpensive replacement of the OEM and extension of the life of the fixtures. Interestingly the bulbs do not mind bathing in the least, and a little cleaning of the corroded posts with a nail file or emery board does the trick easily.

We bought a cheap aquarium that had a lighted cover with 2 large sockets at the top. The incandescent bulbs provided would warm up the water too much in the summer, so I was faced with buying another light.

It's a small light bulb that uses less power than an incandescent. There's not really much else to say. Like many CFLs, it takes several minutes to full warm up to full brightness.

It's not a huge deal, just a minor inconvenience. As a general FYI, you can buy LED bulbs (made by Feit) for the same price that use less power and don't need to warm up, for the same price at Walmart. They also sell equivalent CFLs (also made by Feit) for about $5. Both types are in the aquarium section.

Standard showcase lights for small aquariums tend to be weak and cannot support real plant life. By switching to this bulb, my little 2.5 gallon aquarium can now support a number of living plants. The white light also give the aquarium a much more natural feel, as opposed to the incandescent, which gives the aquarium a yellow tint (not very attractive). Just be prepared to deal with some algae problems, as the light is fairly strong. All in all, very happy with this bulbalmost impossible to find in stores.

I added a light sensor so the lights don't come on until dusk and go off at sunrise. These lights allowed me to get rid of two halogen security lights that were costing me over $20 per month. The light itself is fine. The housing is well made, and the mounting bracket is sturdy. It's not actually a "warm white" though, more like a daylight white. I use it as a floodlight for my (small) backyard, and it works OK, after having to wire it into the power, but I find that in order to see my dogs in the yard at night, I have to turn off the light in the kitchen, or I can't really see anything. If you wanted to light landscaping, a parking area, or a flag at night, this would be a good light, but I would recommend going to a higher wattage light for anything more than a 10' square area. I guess you could use these indoors as well, if you wanted, depending on your application.

We bought this product a couple of years ago during a big storm and power outage on the Washington coast. It worked fine without any problems. When we got home from vacation we put it away with our emergency kit. We got it out today and went to use it and it wouldn't work. The problem is the battery. It won't hold a charge. Light works fine as long as you turn the crank. Searched the Internet to find a replacement battery. Found one for $10. I read the specs and found that the lead acid batteries need to be kept fully charged. Letting the battery go to zero charge just once will destroy the battery. This product was used for 2 days and put away for 2 1/2 years waiting for another emergency. I won't be replacing the battery to go through this again. I'm pitching this and finding a different product.

I can't really fault anything about the product. I like it the way it is. The lamp and flashlight are not very bright, they are only LEDs and a regular household flashlight is much better. However, these are easy to charge and keep their charge for a very long time. I bought these for my disaster emergency kit over a year ago and they still work fine. I have not had to crank them much because they are still holding their original charge. Even though I said they are rather dim, in pitch black, it is much better than nothing. The ability to recharge by just winding it up is what I wanted from these and i got it.

Cons:

Light output is dim. It is more of a dim glow than direct light output. You really have to strain at times to see by this light. It could use a few more LEDs to increase light output.

Lantern quality is flimsy.

I was very excited to get these two items based on several 5 star reviews. Once received and the winding began, two parts of the lantern promptly broke the swiveling handle snapped in two places.

~Final Thoughts~

I immediately thought that these other reviewers are WAY TOO generous in giving this product 5 star ratings. It is misleading to haphazardly give products 5 stars which set other purchasers expectations too high.

This is clearly NOT a 5 star product. The only realistic use for these two items is in emergency situations where battery powered lighting is not available. I cannot imagine even attempting to use this "on the patio" and certainly don't think winding the lantern for 1-2 minutes every 15-20 minutes is relaxing.

I honestly would recommend virtually any kind of battery operated flashlight over the lantern or flashlight. For a larger flashlight, I own a MAGLITE S3D016 Heavy-Duty 3-D Cell Flashlight, Black and Mag-Lite ST3D016 3-D Cell LED Flashlight, Black. The LED version of the Mag-lite puts the non-LED version to shame. In turn any battery powered flashlight leaves this windup lantern and flashlight in the dark.

For a smaller flashlight, I own the Nebo Redline Tactical Flashlight Strobe S.O.S 220 Lumen #5581. For such a small flashlight it puts out an amazing amount of light.

Want a real lantern that puts out light you can actually see by? Try Rayovac SE3DLN Sportsman Xtreme 300-Lumen LED Lantern. Keep and use this wind up lantern and flashlight for what it's best for emergencies.

the plastic handle connects to a piece of metal inside the lantern. the plastic around that metal piece broke off. the lantern is now not useable.

Operating instructions tell the user to "Rotate handle at an average speed of 120 rpm for one minute". This is for 20 minutes of light.

The handle just broke. Trying to return the item for a refund. I have to pay the return shipping.

I am an owner of a lighting and lamp shop. I purchased many reels of LED strip to do a small test. Everyone knows that LED will be the next generation of the lighting but LED is more complicate than the halogen light. So people sometimes feel difficult to find out the right LEDs, especially online. Home Depot carries all kinds of LED lamp but none of the LED strip. So I hope my review will be helpful for all of you on Amazon.

The strips I compared are the most basic products: cool white and warm white, waterproof and non-waterproof. All the LED strips came in different quality and brightness. I am satisfied with five of the strips. These five strip have high lumen, good color and 3M tape is good. So I recommend them:

HitLights LED Flexible Lighting Strip Cool White or Bright White, 5 Meter or 16 Ft, 3528 Type, 300 SMD, 24 Watt

This cool white LED has the highest brightness and the color is about 6000K which will be very closed to the tube. I think this one should be enough for most of the people. Also, the best part is the price is very reasonable and even cheaper than some low quality strip. So I highly recommend this one.

This strip have a neutral color, around 3000K to 3500K which is between cool white and warm white. The color is special and I believe some one will need that. The 3M tape is great and stick the strip really well.

Finally, I realized that hitlights and led wholesaler are the top two quality on Amazon. I also found both of them have more LED products in other vendors. In other word, they are more professional in LED. Obviously, led wholesaler has even more products but higher price while hitlights only has the popular led products and the price is more reasonable. I will say both of them are good LED sellers.

I have bought other LED strips from other sellers, and this is the first time that I got the connector for an AC adapter and a connector to link two strips together with the LED strip. This is very handy, and very appropriate for the target audience. Is is very easy to solder two strips together, but any item of convenience that means not having to bring out the 600+ degree F soldering iron is a big plus. Plus they look very professional. The connectors are a compression type with a hinge parallel to the length of the strip. Simply open the connector, place the strip contacts over the connector contacts, and close the connector. This presses the strip contacts down onto the spring contacts in the connector.

I had purchased a different LED strip from here (item #B002QQ1YOM) that is stated as 6000K color temperature on the packaging. Side by side these LEDs appear to be just a little bit "cooler/bluer" than those. So if my other ones are rated as 6000K, then I would guess these are around 6200K-6500K. I wish sellers would be more specific than just "Cool White".

Each LED is very bright for their size. Would be able to light up anything, under cabinet, inside cabinet, utility lighting, etc. The reel has a label that says "SMD 3528 LED Strip DC12V 60leds/M 4.8W/M Cold WHITE 5meter Unwaterproof CE ROHS" that looks like it was printed on someone's laser printer. They work great with a 12v power supply (item #B0034GUEY4) and a 12v dimmer (item #B003L4KKF2). I have yet to cut & mount these to their permanent location.

I measured some stats while lighting up the whole strip using a volt meter and a Kill-A-Watt meter (item #B0032JRGZ8).

Amps: 1.28 (changes with temperature as they heat up)

I like these lights a lot as they are very easy to install and they are quite bright. You can see in my video that I used them in my evaluation as an accent light and they are perfect for that application. They operate at a low temperature and operate using 24 watts. If you do have them rolled up they can get warm but unrolled the heat is more easily dissipated. The lights are IP65 which means they are dust proof and capable of getting wet without any problems. The 5, at the end of the IP6x, rating means that they can be sprayed with water.

The strip of LEDs is 16.4 feet long and it contains 300 LEDs. They operate on 12 volts but please take note that they do not come with a power supply and you have to provide your own or purchase one. You can cut the LED strip and at every 3 LEDs there is a location that can be separated. You can re-solder wires to allow the strip to make a right angle turn to put a boarder around a window for example. The back of the strip has an adhesive double sided tape already applied and you can remove it to stick the lights to a staircase, door frames or around a window for example.

The LEDs have a very long life and they are rated at 50,000 hours of on time. This is a high quality product that is good for home or business use. I rated them as a 5 star product. Please view the video as it gives a good example of how they look and it shows the brightness of the LEDs.

This worked perfect. Had to order a 1amp transformer for this. I ended up cutting the strip at 5ft. And put the 5ft under one of our cabinets. Other lights would not work as they were to visible or got annoying while watching tv in the living room.

They do have double-stick tape on the back of them for those who wonder.

If I need to light up a cabinet or something else that is similar, sold.
