I like this product, it worked as advertised and the led light by the switch is helpful in turning on in a dark room. Worked great for a single lamp. I thought it would work plugged into 2 lamps using a splitter but it did not. After reading the reviews of this item, I was a bit apprehensive about trying it out. After plugging it in, however, apprehension became joy! Allow me to preface my findings by saying that I am using the two I bought to dim hanging lamps that have one e12 candelabra bulb each in them... so we are not taxing the advertised capabilities at all. The action is smooth with very little or no "snap-on" that is warned about in other reviews. It just cycles cleanly from off through very dim to fully bright. There is no noise at all from them. No buzzing, no hum, no nothing. If you want to dim your bedside lamp, or any plug-in lamp, for that matter, try one of these. I bought 2 of these after searching for bedside lamps with dimmers, etc, to no avail. I set up one on each side of our bed. We can turn on a lamp just enough to find tissues, etc, or bright enough to read without disturbing each other. No clicking on and off and no more waking each other up with the touch-lamp which has to cycle up to full light before going off. I also like that there's a tiny red light on the unit which helps to locate it in the dark. Bought TWO of these for the same price as ONE at the local hardware store! A great invention!!

This produces ample light, and I am able to activate the light at a distance of 25 feet. I had given this as a gift but it was returned to me because it would not stay on for more than 1 hour at a time. Since I set this light up its been averaging about 30 minutes before it turns off, this is likely due to few sunny days. The solar panel is in a south facing window, however it would do better if it was outside. This uses a 4 volt battery. The last item to note is the mount for the solar panel, which is made of plastic and has already broken. My opinion is for this light to be practical, I would like it to be able to work for 4 hours at a time.

This light is very bright but I can't seem to keep it on more than 15-30 minutes before it automatically shuts off. I'm able to turn it on again after a brief time but then it shuts off again at the same interval. I purchased 4 of these lights through the Sams Club Auction web site. The lights produce great light. However, I broke one mounting bracket removing it from its plastic wrapping and broke another trying to adjust it into the proper position. I bought 3 of these units a year ago. I use 2 by attaching them to garage on patio side The other is a backup in case something happened to one of the others. At night they give off a nice soft glow. I would give them a 5 star rating but they are now useless unless I can find a replacement battery that will fit battery holder. Have tried all the top battery companies in town and many on the Internet with no success yet. I would alternate between the 2 so I would have light longer. Bought this light to use on a shed where we keep horse and goat feed. There is no other lighting available. This utility light works great and we couldn't be happier. We recommend this for any situation where you need outside lighting.

I purchased 3 of these connectors to use in my above cabinet lighting. However, after gathering all my components, I realized that each LED reel has a 5mm DC jack already attached to the start of the reel. (5 Meter Reel Warm White 3100k Flexible LED Ribbon 300 Leds 16 Ft by LEDwholesalers, 2026ww-31k) I didn't end up using this connector for my project.
This connector is really only necessary if you have multiple power supplies and will only be using small runs from one or more reels.
Example: If you have 3 small areas separate from each other (where you plan to use 3 power supplies) but only plan on buying 1 reel, then you'll need 2 of these connectors.

The 8mm connector makes a pretty solid connection to the #2026 ribbons (with SMD 3528). I wanted the LEDs to be on a switch, so I ended up cutting the 8mm connector off, wiring the DC jack leads to a 12V switch, then the switch back to the 8mm connector. My husband put lights on the outside of our airstream so we can see at night when its warm enough to do it! When we camp, more people come over to ask about them. We worked with a lighting designer for our house in the city, which uses a monorail and/or monopoint low-voltage lighting for overhead and spots. The bulb he recommended was the Soraa Vivid, but at that time only a few in the industry had the cache and the knowhow to obtain one. They were expensive and he had to order 85 bulbs. After we hesitated (we were biased against LED bulbs, conjuring images of blueish light that belongs at the bottom of an aquarium rather than a city dwelling), he demonstrated a comparable 50W halogen and a 12W Soraa bulb. There was no question the latter was far superior: the light was crisp, warm enough, and the beam was perfect for illuminating artwork (you can choose a wider beam for wall-washing). You may want to consider your ceiling height when choosing the width of the beam: we have 12' ceilings, and found that narrower beams work much better to focus on sculptures or small paintings. For a mural or a large canvass, go for several 36-degree spots.
We are pleasantly surprised to learn that Soraa has decided to partner with Amazon to distribute these bulbs. We can now order them ourselves at a fraction of the cost, without involving our designer and his distributor.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program This is a nice LED dimmable spotlight with nice light quality and low heat output.First, be aware this is a 12V bulb. Do not plug it into 120VAC or you will instantly burn it out. It will run on 12V AC or DC. If you are using DC, polarity is not labeled and not important as this apparently has some steering diodes built in. This light is dimmable but the power consumption is about the same from 12V down to 6V (between 9-10W consumption). You can dim it down to about 2.4V before it will turn off. Below 6V, the consumption drops from 9W to as little as 3.75W but it does seem to generate more heat (but not a lot). The light needs at least 6V to turn on consistently but once on, you can dim it pretty dim. The light color is said to be 3000K, which is about the same as an incandescent bulb. It seems a little whiter to me but it does not have that cold blue/white light of many LEDs. It is a very warm, pleasant light.

I would usually only consider indoor applications but I had a need for an MR16 bulb to go into a sealed solid brass outdoor 12VAC bullet landscaped light. And this turned out to be just what I was looking for.Pros:
Wonderful light output. Very bright. Up lit 60 ft tall oak tree canopy very well. This was for the 36 degree version. I imagine the 25 degree version would up light the bark/trunk very well.
Great color rendition. The 95 CRI is true. This is a pretty light. No blues or overly warm yellows here.
Energy efficient.
Well built. Hand feel is of quality. Weighty and solid feeling.
Cons:
Does get very warm. Too hot to handle. But As long as it is dissipating the heat it should last its rated 25K hours.
A 5 star light review. Hope this helps if your considering this light. Just remember that LEDs still produce heat. Not as much as incandescents but enough to be to hot to touch.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program The SORAA LED MR16 VIVID 10W 3000K 36° is brighter than my 50W halogens and uses 1/5 the power. This means I can run more bulbs on the same transformer and get more light. The beam is more focused than a halogen but the 36° version I purchased gives a fairly wide spread.The spectrum is virtually identical to a halogen and I don't see any difference between the light it and halogens installed on the same track produce.
Of course the halogens do give off IR light which gives off heat. On my system I measuered 180 degrees on the glass surface of my halogen bulbs.
The light on the SORAA LED is not nearly as worm but the heatsink measured 215 degrees, Holding your hand in front of the halogen will feel much warmer than the LED, but touching the heatsink is MUCH hotter on the LED than the glass on the halogen.
The size and shape seems 100% compatible with any MR16 flood and this is an easy replacement. Although the cost is about 5-10x the cost of a halogen the life is reported to be 25K hours which is about 5x the life of a halogen.
Running about 8 hours a day I figure the LED version will probably cost about $5 less per year to operate compared to halogen, and last about 8 years.
If you have a need to add more lights to a limited power supply or have bulbs that are difficult to replace this is an easy choice. If you use MR16s anywere you should at least buy one and try it out!

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I've been looking at LED bulbs for years, and they were always too expensive, not bright enough, and gave off an awful color.This has changed over the last couple of years, and I have several bulbs in my house that give off the needed light with a pleasing hue.
This is the first LED to satisfy my track lighting needs. It has a very pleasant temperature, covers the area nicely, and considering the energy savings, will pay for itself over the lifetime of the bulb.
One word of note. This bulb throws a lot more heat than my other LED bulbs (But a lot less than the halogen it replaced).
Would absolutely recommend.

I haven't been able to test any of the claims above but for the most part the light is bright enough to help guide you in complete darkness while being light in weight as long as the battery pack is not attached to the head strap. There are three modes, a bright light, slightly dimmed and a red light. Also, the headlamp can be removed from the head strap and attached to any THIN belt loop. I've attached mine to my hiking bag with the battery pack affixed to my belt strap. The clip that attaches the headlamp to the head strap seems a little weak and I wouldn't be surprised if it broke with any significant force or tug. The wire that attaches the headlamp to the battery pack seems to be strong enough to withstand regular tugging and pulling from practical uses. The battery pack uses 3 AAA batteries and I've been using rechargeable batteries without any issues so far. You can also use a power cartridge sold by Coleman that is not included but for the price listed for the battery cartridge I would rather use regular AAA batteries or rechargeable AAA batteries as they're more readily available and can be used in other electronic devices. Hope this helps.

I tested it and it works. I just wanted to have a couple on hand in case of a power failure while it's dark outside. I awakened during a power failure last month and could not see a thing. I reached for a flashlight on the bedside table and had no trouble finding my way, but found it hard to make a pot of coffee the old fashioned stove top way using one hand to hold the flashlight. This head lamp will free up both hands and illuminate whatever I'm facing. After all, my eyes are on my face.

This Energizer RCL1NM2WR Rechargeable LED Flashlight can operate in two modes:
In 'ON' or 'high-beam' mode, it projects a bright focused beam, which forms a circle of 3 ft diameter from a distance of 12 ft away. The light pattern is very similar to that from my Rayovac BRSLED2AA-B 2AA LED Flashlight, except the output from this Energizer flashlight is at least twice as bright when it is freshly charged.
In 'nightlight' or 'low-beam' mode, the light is much dimmer, while the battery life is extended to 15 hours, instead of just 2-3 hours in full-power mode.
To use it as an emergency power failure light, you should leave this flashlight in 'ON' position, and plug it into an AC outlet. The light goes out while it is being recharged. But when the power goes out, or when you unplug it from the outlet, the light comes back on immediately.
You can also leave the unit in 'nightlight' mode while it is being recharged. But in this case, the flashlight remains on 24 hours a day since there is no light sensor. The light is actually too bright when used in bedroom. But it is just perfect for basement or hallways where you always need some illumination. Plus you'll never have to search for a flashlight again.
Some other points that I like:
Unlike many other power failure lights, this one does NOT cover both AC outlets when it is plugged in.
It can be mounted in either up or down directions.
It only consumes 1W when recharging in nightlight mode.
There is one thing I don't quite understand: The flashlight is powered by a single NiMH button cell, Varta CP300H, with capacity of only 300mAh. It seems to me there is enough space to fit an AAA NiMH cell with capacity of 800+ mAh, or even an AA NiMH cell with capacity of 2000+ mAh. By doing this, the battery run time will be extended by several folds. But more importantly, I will be able to swap in alkaline cells when the rechargeable battery runs out!
On the other hand, the main purpose of this flashlight is just to help me find my other flashlights in case of a blackout. So for that I'm completely satisfied.

I highly recommend these, it's just like a little flash light that's always charged,can be switched to automatically turn on if and when you loose power, and can also be
a nightlight. 3 great functions in one super bright LED light.
I purchased 4 of these for my home, one for each floor hallway and one for a bathroom
that doesn't have any windows and gets very dark at night, so the nightlight feature
was great and shines just enough with out being to bright. I've often thought about
what if I was in that bathroom and the power went out...Hmmm might bump into a lot of things
trying to find my way out and back down the hallway.
These are excellent!! Relatively small in size, fairly rugged, feels like good quality,
an LED light meaning it will run for hours and hours on a charge and wow they are extremely bright.
For me now if I need a flashlight I simply go to the outlet and it's always ready to go.
If the power fails during a storm, these automatically turn themselves on.
Great, no more bumping into things in the middle of the night or coming home to a completely
dark house if the power is out.
I've also discovered that even if I'm not at home and their is a power failure, people
still think I'm at home...my neighbor across the street saw the light on in my house during
a recent storm that hit the area that took down the power for about 3 or 4 hours, and thought
I was home .... Nice little security feature there I thought, if there is a light on inside the house,
probably means someone's at home...a criminal is probably going to think twice before breaking into a
home that's lit up when the power goes out.
I also found a little BONUS on these units (at least the ones I received)
A small door with a little screw holding it shut, on the opposite side as the switch.
When I removed the screw and used a screw driver to slide the door/pocket out, I found
a replaceable battery .. .BIG BONUS.. Now granted the battery is one I've never seen,
it's like a large oversized watch battery, but it's replaceable meaning you can purchase it
online for sure if not at your local battery store and you won't be throwing these devices
away if the battery no longer holds a charge...just replace the battery.
Previous devices, from other manufacturers that I've owned have been throw aways due to the units
being sealed shut, no way to open them without completely destroying the units.
I've had my units for nearly 3 years and during a recent power outage that lasted 3+ hours these units
were still going strong and were running at full brightness.

Primarily an emergency flashlight. Nightlight is selectable, the unit can function as an emergency light without the nightlight turned on, good function for basements and other areas where you don't need a nightlight all the time.
Ergonomics comfortable to hold, easy to point. Plug folds into handle, one sliding button (ON emergency light mode or flashlight when not plugged in, OFF, Nightlight mode), and good cogent instructions.
As an emergency light functional emergency flashlight, a five foot diameter circle at 30 feet, not very good as an area light. It won't replace a good Fenix, but it's a lot cheaper. Beam points up or down during emergency.
As a nightlight again the beam points either up or down, light output is lower than when in flashlight mode, but still fairly bright. Not photo controlled, so if it's on it's always on.
Outlet space excellent use of outlet space, plenty of room to plug in other items. Non-polarized plug so can be plugged in pointing either direction.

For me, I like the fact that the Energizer can still function as an emergency light without having the nightlight turned on. That said; the nightlight for the Energizer is not photo controlled, so when it's on, it's on. It is the best flashlight of the bunch, not a replacement for a regular flashlight, just the best of this bunch. If I had a hallway and wanted it lit for company and in an emergency, and didn't want access to the other plug, I'd probably put the Satco there. The Satco's only saving grace, and the reason I'd pick it over the others with photo controlled nightlights, is because of the replaceable batteries

We are avid campers and I am always looking for ways to reduce costs, so when I saw this rechargable flashlight I just had to give it a try. It produces enough light to be useful after dark and has saved me TONS of money on batteries. We can usually get through a whole weekend of camping without recharging it as there is usually a campfire at night and we really only need the flashlight for trips to the bathroom, short night hikes and to help find things in the tent after the sun has gone down. I got this light for my 6 yr old son. Let me tell you he is hard on flashlights! Likes to see how their insides work and stuff like that. I can't count how many he's been through. Got this one last Christmas, a year ago almost. It still in one piece and recharges and shines bright for a long time. It has been dropped and kicked around a lot but still works. The ONLY problem I found is that the fold out prongs that you plug into the outlet had a little defect. One night he tried to unplug it and the prongs came out of the flashlight and stuck in the outlet. This could pose as a very serious electrical shock danger. The reason this happened is because the flashlight spread apart just a little at the bottom near the prongs allowing for them to be pulled out of the flashlight. I wrapped the end with gorilla tape and it won't happen again, but it is a problem.

I had the same problem after checkout with my shipment costing me $62, but I contact the seller and they recalculated it for me. I had to pay whole price, but they refunded it to me right away. Wanted a paper lantern, got one! Very cheap, shipping was a little silly but overall these usually retail (though with the light) around $19.99. Had to replace an old lantern, got a replacement set (lantern and light) and an extra one for the old one as well. Take care to open the lantern slowly, as if you are too vigorous with it, it will rip. Also, for the people that complain it is too fragile it is TISSUE PAPER wrapped around a frame what do you expect? I ripped my old one (after being open for 5 years) just squishing it down. FYI if you are going to squish it around, spritz water on it (after the light has been removed) so the paper is more malleable. I tried to order this product because of the price. Looks like the quality is comparable to products sold in some other sites but at a much lower price, so I decided to get it from amazon. It's not eligible for free shipping 'thou and has to be shippped directly by the seller Just Artifacts. I checked their shipping rates and showed $4.48 per shipment. The metal inserts to give the paper lanterns shape are of poor quality. The metal "C" to wrap light cord around breaks off easily and often not centered so the light cord doesn't even fit around it. Ordered two of these lanterns. They are made out of that cheap tissue paper you get inside gift boxes. BOTH arrived with rips and tears. They were shipped in a plastic bag, that had been bent along the way, NOT the appropriate way to ship something that tears so easily! One of the metal expanders broke completely when I tried to hang it. These are cheap paper lanterns that you could buy at the dollar store. Don't waste your money.

I've been using this light for going on three months and it's working perfectly. My light is mounted about seven feet above ground level and illuminates an area of about 15x15 feet. It's not bright illumination, but bright enough to see obstacles/hazards on the ground, kind of like a parking lot light. I live in Florida, so my light has been subject to lots of very bright sunlight and heavy rain. I'll post an update if it stops working well.

The light itself was pretty straight forward and easy to setup. The kit included everything I needed to replace an existing outdoor light that we had on a wall 30' up near the peak of our house. It works and is bright. I covered over the light sensor, since it is wired to a circuit that comes on with it's own light sensor.
The one problem I have is the plastic cover that goes on the light. It sits in a grove and twists to stay on, but is physically loose. I bought the light in September and in December when the wind was strong enough to blow the cover off. It fell and cracked.
I contacted Lithonia for a parts replacement and they replied with...
The OALDA fixtures lenses are no longer available and we do not carry any lens that will fit this fixture.
The light still works but is exposed to the elements and whatever else may impact it. If you DO order this light, be sure to use additional approaches in securing the cover to the housing because there are no replacement parts available.

Coast Cutlery LL7575 Auto LED Light I read the other reviews on this light. None of the reviewers that said "this light doesn't fit" bothered to say what kind of car they drive. The reviewers who said this fits no problem likewise did not say what they drive. All reviewers left us in the dark! I have a 2000 Honda Insight and a 1999 Chevy S-10. Neither the light or adapter fit either of my cars. Guess I'll try it in friend's cars the one that works gets the light. Cool idea bad design! Buyer beware.
3/17/08 EDIT This flashlight fits the cigarette lighter socket on my BMW K1100LT motorcycle. Apparently designed by Germans for German/Euro cars but not for US or Asian cars. I'll keep it on the bike...

I was looking for something to replace the cigarette lighters in my car. I don't smoke, so they serve no purpose. I even considered buying plastic caps from the dealer at fifteen dollars each.Imagine my surprise when I came across this little beauty. The body is machined out of solid stainless steel, even the cap. Very high-end appearance, heft, and feel in the hand.
When placed in a cigarette lighter, it looks like it came from the factory that way. It replaces the existing lighter, and is inserted with the lens facing outward, away from the socket.
It is exactly the same diameter as the original lighters that came in my Lexus, and is low-profile enough to fit inside the closed ashtray. It does come with a metal ring that fits around it to make it a bit thicker for outlets that are larger, but that wasn't necessary for my application.
The cap twists to turn the light on or off, which keeps it from activating accidentally, but does require two hands. There are small holes drilled in a ring around the cap to allow light from the LED to show from the sides. It has a blue LED in it that lights softly when it is charging, and the small holes allow it to be easily seen from the sides. This works well for locating the light in a dark cabin.
The main LED is a white Nichia. They have a patented technology that makes the wire grid that covers the base of the LED clear, which allows up to twice the light output of a standard white LED. Note, however, that this is not a Luxeon or Cree LED, which are extraordinarily bright, but also use lots of current and would quickly drain the small battery in a device this size. The Photon Freedom Micro light also uses a Nichia LED, so that may give you a better idea of how bright it is if you are familiar with that one.
The lens is convex, like a magnifying glass, so the beam is bright, round, and has very little side spill. This is good for tasks that you might use it for in a car, like reading a map without lighting up the entire interior of the car and blinding the driver.
It is rechargeable, and according to the included instructions can be left in the outlet when not in use.
Mine just arrived today, and I've already ordered another one. Highly recommended.

I got one of these as a gift and love it.This is a truly elegant product. It looks pretty and works well so long as it fits your lighter socket. The beauty of this product is the quality machining and nice heavy feel. The down side is that the smooth machining means your lighter socket has to be just the right size. Too small and the flashlight will not fit, too big and the unit will swim around and not make sufficient electrical contact. Too bad there are not more precise industry standards for lighter sockets.
In my case it fit the socket in my 07 4runner but not my wife's 08 Subaru Outback. Actually it fit the Outback but the socket has a recessed positive contact which prevents the smooth bottom of the flashlight from making contact. Thus it stays put but doesn't charge.
It is a good idea to buy this from a source that will take it back if it doesn't work in your car. If it works you will be a happy camper.

I will say the idea is really great but there is one problem. It is too small to fit into the cigarette lighter on my 2008 GMC Sierra. It comes with an adapter for this problem but the adapter is to large.Grrr!

This product is well made but badly designed. I ordered it for a Mustang and without the adapter it is too loose and with the adapter it doesn't fit. The manufacturer should list what vehicles it works with but forget Fords (did not fit the explorer either).
