it isn't as bright as I expected but I received an incentive to keep it. I would have expected a 12watt bulb to be much brighter. If you need a dim bulb in a fixture with a housing, here you go.

GE 10147 - F15T8/WW Straight T8 Fluorescent Tube Light Bulb Review
It is just a fluorescent tube like any other, and it has been working fine. Don't know why Home Depot by my area doesn't carry this size, and therefore ordering it on line.

I bought this unit to replace a new Heath/Zenith model SH-5316 sensor, which was very bothersome, in that it would trigger the security light when it was windy, rainy, or leaves were rustling. Even with the sensitivity turned all the way down, it would still activate too easily.
So, I purchased this Desa SL-5407 and it works like a champ. Only activates the light when it's supposed to and has adequate range and angle coverage to do the job. In fact, I'm thinking about buying a second one for back-up in case these aren't offered in the future. The price is right, imho.
The instructions don't cover this... If you want to add multiple sensors to a single (or multiple lights) simply get some 14/3+G wire and wire it up like you would a 3 way switch (or get an electrician to do it). I love the idea that we've got such broad motion detection coverage from the three sensors and all the lighting works simultaneously. Little more complicated (and expensive) wiring job, but much better for me than having individual units that work independently.

Not sure why it won't work with LED lights. I does say incandescent lights in the instructions but not on the box. Bought three of these to detect motion around the deck and pool area and activate several flood lights and wall sconce units simultaneously. The instructions say this has to be wired to a switched circuit, but I have no idea why. Worked fine coming right off a live circuit. Coverage is probably a little less than 180d but it worked well for me.The instructions don't cover this... The 40W fluorescents (150-200W equivalent) are hard to find in most brick and mortar stores (they like to sell the smaller 40W and the 100W equivalents) so I was double-happy when I saw this one at Amazon. First, because Amazon carries it and second because it's available under super-savers' shipping.
Talking about the item itself:
you WILL experience some delay when you turn it on but it's hardly noticeable, like maybe 1/10 of a second
once it's on, unlike the 'cheaper' fluorescents that need to warm up, it shines at or close to full brightness immediately
it's a bulky, significantly wider and longer than the 150W incandescent equivalents and it may not fit all fixtures where a regular 150W bulb used to fit
does not work well with a dimmer it's either on or off [I tried it with one and it did come on at full brightness but something is telling me that you may shorten its life when used this way]
the light is bright, so bright, I would not stare at it directly I did once and I saw 'ghosts' for the next 15-30 minutes
the color of light is closer to 'solar' than what our 'incandescents' deliver, less yellow, more blue
unlike neon lights, there's no flicker
it consumes less power when compared to an incandescent
The above were my subjective comments. Here are the specs, as the manufacturer lists them:
Light output: 2800 lumens
Energy used: 42W
Life: 8000 hrs.
Color temperature: 6500K
Electric charge: 610mA
The major issue I have with the fluorescents is their lifespan. Maybe I am unlucky but, after replacing nearly all my light bulbs in the house a few dozen they seem to burn out more often. My first couple 40W I bought a few years ago (a different brand), in fact, died after about one year, I hope this is not the case again because we are paying top dollar for these environmentally nice devices.
So far, I see no reason not to award this bulb 5 stars but, if it dies on me before 2-3 years, I promise to come back and update my review. For the record, the maker promises a 7-year lifespan and $152 (???) savings per bulb.

April 2013 update:
On their 49th month, they (I bought a 2-pack) are as bright and shiny as on 'day one' and they've been on for many hours because I telecommute most of the time and my office is in the basement. I haven't done the math but I'm quite confident that they've paid for themselves already, probably several times over.
I bought 2 more in December, 2009 and no burnouts yet.

This light is intensely bright. I got onto the Fluoroscent bulbs when I switched over and I saw how much it reduced my electric bill. I also liked the fact that I could spoil myself with the high powered light bulb without the high powered bulb prices. I put a few 100 watt bulbs in the house but I didn't even know they went to 200 until I saw this one. To be honest it's almost to much. It really and truly makes it feel like it's the middle of the day when I turn this thing on at night. I am excited to read with it. It's a very pure slightly blueish light. The bulb is much larger than a normal bulb so be aware.The only light I could compare it to is the elven light in Lord of the Rings. You know the one Frodo holds up to fend off the spider? It's exactly like that. Seriously. It's elven bright.

Finding a CFL greater than 100W-equivalent is pretty difficult. Finding one that is 200W-equivalent and 6500K is almost impossible. Been using three of these for around 16 hours a day for 6 months now with no troubles. They are turned on and not turned off during that period thoughI have no idea how they perform when constantly turned on and off, which is not how CFLs should be run anyway btw.These bulbs are large physically, heavy, bright, very blue/white/daylight-ish, and they represent an excellent value.

I was concerned these lights would not put out enough light so I purchased 2. We probably could have gotten away with 1, but I wasn't sure since you hear such mixed reviews about LED lighting. These tiny, 6" white paper lanterns are a little off-white compared to others I bought, but hardly perceptible when hung and lit up. I am using a tiny LED battery-operated light, and these light up awesomely being so small! I am hanging crystals from the bottom of some of the lanterns, and that looks really nice. Great deal buying these in a 10-pack. If I needed this many small lanterns, I may look somewhere else due to the color issue, but if I didn't find a better deal than these, I'd get these again.

OK we are uber sci fi geeks and love this thing. Our first one burned out after about a year of constant use (ours is in the laundry room / 2nd bath combo, with no window) but other than that, kewlest nightlight ever! If you are using it in "normal" circumstances (like a kid's room with a window / room with lights on during much of the day) I imagine this would last you at least 2 years. Works very well!

This is a wonderful nitelite for kids, teens, or adults!! I love the color transitions and that it turns off when the room is lighted. It is not bright, so for a hallway where light is needed it is probably too dim, but for a bedroom it is wonderful!

I bought 11 of these bulbs and replaced most of my apartment with them. I love them but I am also a geek. Here is a list of some of the pros and cons I have found.
Pros:
1. Unlike other LED and florescent lights these give off a natural white like incandescent bulbs. They mimic it perfectly.
2. Using HouseLinc Software I can set events. My favorite is having the lights come on slowly as I wake up to avoid shock.
3. Using my wall mounted mini controller I have two ON modes for my bathroom, 1 Full Bright 2 Dim for late night trips to the bathroom.
4. Dimmable
5. Very low power consumption
6. Same size as a regular bulb
7. Should last 30 years
8. Sheer awesomeness of watching your lights go on from down the street via Iphone control.
Cons:
1. Light distribution. Unlike regular bulbs this one does let light passed the back of it due to its metal heat sink. It looked funny in some of my smaller light fixtures where the bulb is very close to the translucent wall.
2. Cost.
3. Weight: About 4 times the weight of a regular bulb.
4. Has a "Ramp Rate" feature that is suppose to gradually turns the light on over a set period of time. It increments in stages and looks like a strobe light on slow.
Notes:
1. In Houselinc you can set the brightness, it has preset brightness levels of 10%,20%,30%. . . 100%, it's not obvious but you can also type in a custom number.
2. Houselinc requires additional hardware to communicate with bulbs, see site.

Nice bulb with a pleasing color temperature. Excellent dimming profile. Note, however, that this bulb does require an Insteon controller to take advantage of advanced features; if you want to be able to control the bulb from your computer, you will need to invest in other Insteon hardware. Price is actually very good when compared to standalone LED bulb plus lamp controller module. This LED bulb -albeit expensive -is quite impressive. It is certainly bright enough as a 60W equivalent. What makes it impressive, however, it how easily it integrates into an Insteon environment. I have a number of Insteon components in my home -and this bulb was, by far, the easiest to implement and program. The bulb is dimmable and easily controlled remotely via an iOS or Android app. An Insteon hub is required in order to control the bulb remotely. Set up and use is incredibly easy. I had considered remote plugin wall adapters and LED bulbs separately, but when I saw these bulbs, I realized I could combine both and save a few bucks. They work perfectly with my ISY994i/Insteon remote system, plus, they barely use any electricity while lighting up the place!
Best Inglow CG10286CR2 1.75-Inch Tall Flameless Wax Covered Votive Deals
These are nice little electronic votive candles. They were a bit smaller than I had expected, but that's no fault of the candles. It clearly states 1.75". Their lighting is pleasant and relatively realistic for a flameles candle. They are wax covered, so that adds a bit of realism. The wick at the top and wax makes them look like real candles when they're not lit.
The so called "wax covered" is a bit far-fetched -it's really just an effect of the plastic I think, that makes it feel a bit velvety to the touch. I agree they would look inconspicuous in candle holders when not turned on but it can't fool real candle lovers who have seen thousands of tea-lights and candles half burnt. The switch and battery compartment are on the bottom, so you cannot stick the candle anywhere using a bit of wax. It can only sit in a holder. The battery compartment is secured with a tiny screw, so you'll need to use both a small screw driver to loosen the screw, and a coin to turn the compartment cap till it comes off. A bit excessive I'd say, but there is no curious young-lings running around in my house. Maybe this double safety design would please the parents among us.
I like it, and hope the battery doesn't need to be replaced often.
I only pulled the battery tab on one out of the two the votive candles. I am assuming the other one works as well. And I also have no information as to how long the CR2032 battery will last.

I got these to put inside a Chinese style lantern. The lantern is not something I use all year long, but only for Mid-Autumn Festival. The light that originally came with the lantern had ran its life course this year, and I got these votive candles as replacement. Dang. These are so cute! Who cares that they are small. We took them on a camping trip with our two small children, and they were wonderful in the tent and all around the site, during a fire ban. Review of Phillips Indoor/outdoor G40 Globe Lights - Orange
So I had been on the hunt for some "wedding-like" string lights for my backyard but found out that what i'd really love to have (the vintage wedding string lights) just cost way too much for simply 25 bulbs. I found out through a guy at Home Depot that LED works longer and costs much less to buy and run when turned on for hours. LED bulbs are cool to the touch, so you won't deal with HOT bulbs. I had actually puchased this exact brand at Target in the "soft white" color and was pleasantly surprised as to how affordable they are $14.99 a box of 40 bulbs on 20 feet of cord and how far 20 feet can really go. What i really liked was that i could string up to 87 sets of these LED lights together! I am trying to mimic the wedding light look and eventually want to add several tows of these string lights and insert Chinese paper lanterns to every other bulb.
When these are lit, you can't tell that they are plastic, nor can you see the tiny parts where they are held together. They just look like string lights! They are also water-proof and are for indoor / outdoor. LEDs also last longer and costs less.
A typical 40 bulb set of string lights would take 175 watts to run....well these Philips G40 LEDS take only 2.4 watts to run! and of course they won't get hot, risking burning your cheap paper lanterns.
I personally got the warm white color cause i can have the basic white light but then once i insert any color paper lantern, i'll get that lanter's color to glow up the room and i can change out the paper lanterns to reflect another color for another type of party. So just buying the white light allows you to just do more by changing the color of the paper lanterns.
I buy my paper lanterns very cheap from OrientalTrading.com but you can also find them at Big Lots, Target, Walmart, IKEA, Garden Ridge Pottery or somewhere online for just like $1.50-$300 each

It's a very good desk lamp. Nice looking, not too bulky, provides a lot of light for reading textbooks, very adjustable.Hope it lasts. I don't see any way to change the LED bulb, so I assume this lamp is done when the bulb stops working. The manual says "do not replace bulb". This was a surprise to me.

Bought product to replace dimmer switch in lamps I did not want to replace since I had purchased with my recently deceased wife. Instructions on back of package are simple enough to go by if you have any common sense and can read a diagram. Was very proud to bring lamp back to life and cycled through levels just like new. Only to be shot down a week later after lamp no longer worked at all. Rechecked wiring to make sure connections were secure and problem was not on my end. I checked and can see why these are no longer carried in any of the area Ace retail stores. I played the lottery and this one was a loser.

If you are not familiar and confident with wiring 120 volt systems, then this is not for you leave it to a professional. However, if you have done house and appliance wiring, then this is a nifty gadget. A couple of splices with wirenuts and any kind of connection to a touch spot, and you have a three way touch light. I used mine in a large display cabinet with overhead spotlights and attached it to the upper hinges. Just a touch on the hinge brightens the light and turns it off. The replacement was larger than the original. The replacement wiring was a different color than the original. When I saw this I contacted Amazon who quickly handed me off to Ace who quickly handed me off to the manufacturer. The manufacturer suggested I take the $7 replacement part on the $35 lamp to an electrician. Cost wise this wasn't an option. I am a widow and not all that knowledgeable on wiring but I thought if I could get the mfr to match up the color of the replacement wires to the original wires I could handle it. And I did, except when I attempted to put the lamp back together the wire nuts fell off, the wiring came loose and I had no idea what went where. I bought some crimpable wirenuts, guessed at the connection and the lamp is now working and has not burned the house down to date.I did get great service from all representatives... The size and wire colors were wrong.

The lutron lamp dimmer works perfectly and was super easy to installcut the cord where you want to install the dimmer, insert each cord end into each end of the dimmer, and press the plungers in to secure the cable. I bought this dimmer along with a floor lamp for my elderly mother. Don't buy if you plan to use energy saving bulbs! The dimmer was noisy and caused the bulbs to flicker unless the light was turned on to full capacity. It works GREAT with standard bulbs, but those bulbs won't be available much longer. My mom can adjust the amount of light needed while sitting in her chair and won't have to stand up to reach the lamp switch. Picture is deceptive, item does not contain an electric cord. fine print on front of package does say cord not included, but this can not be seen in the add. The decription does say "attach on Cord" but no indication cord not included.
