Great lights.

They take 10 seconds to warm up, but once they are warmed up these 8 watt beauties really light up the room.

The stock bulbs that came with my lighting setup were rated at 40W each, and only put out half the light that these lights put out.

I purchase for apartment properties and these are the first LED floods that seem to be reasonably priced.

I an using them to replace 150 watt high pressure sodium lights. The light from the (LED)fixtures is much harsher

than the high pressure sodium fixtures however they seem to be close in brightness. I have installed one

on a building side by side with a sodium fixture and they are adequately bright to to be used in place of the old fixture.

Be cautious of adds stating how long the led bulbs will last. While the bulbs may have a very long life, the electronics in

the fixtures can be taken out by strong power surges and I don't know if these can be fixed. I have not lost any of this

particular fixture to a power surge yet but do intend to install an in line surge suppressor as added insurance.

I have not yet used the led fixture in a situation where the light needs to broadcast for a long distance so I can't yet say

how it compares to the high pressure sodium in that circumstance.

With 22 flood lights at one property the savings should be notable once the high pressures sodium fixtures have been replaced.

I am only going to replace fixtures as they wear out in case any unforeseen problems develop with the LED's.

Also of note the LED flood was much brighter than I expected, which was a nice surprise.

No instructions were included but I wired it blue to neutral, brown to hot and green/yellow to ground. I heard a short buzz sound then nothing. Upon inspection of the PCB board, the electronics looked cheap and hand soldered. Only two of four screws were used to attach the PCB to the housing. Two small heat sinks were poorly attached to the PCB.

There are similar looking 50W LED floods out there that are much more expensive. Maybe they have different and better drivers? At least Amazon makes it easy to return.

Save yourself some aggravation and avoid these.

I purchased this light thinking about going green and replacing the halogen floods on my house. I received the light about 20 days after my order but in arrived DOA with loose parts rolling around inside. I emailed the seller and he told me that it must have been damaged in transport so he agreed to send a second light. When the second light arrived it was the same story. The box in came in was perfect and showed no signs of damage. When looking over the light I can see that it's very poorly made with silicone slopped in the seams. Do yourself a favor and pass on this brand.

I purchased this 50 watt LED floodlight in August of 2011. I just bought another to have as a backup in case this one fails. The current price is about one half of what it was last year. This light is mounted above my garage and does a great job of illuminating all of my front yard. The brightness of this product is such that the neighbors across the street see a distinct shadow of themselves when they walk in front of their house at night. It looks to be just slightly less bright than a 70 watt high pressure sodium fixture, which I also have and compared. I have this fixture controlled by a timer and it has worked perfectly every night for about 11 months now.

I bought these to replace failing 50W bulbs in my kitchen pendant lights. The size can be a bit tricky to find at all, so I was elated to find a brand that didn't cost an arm and a leg and had different wattages to try out.

Incidentally, I bought the 35W bulbs, hoping to dim the light output a little bit. Much to my surprise, the 35W bulbs were 95% as bright-looking as my old 50W ones! These little guys must be pretty efficient, at least at the start of their life. Light colour exactly matches the other halogens I've had in these fixtures very neutral between warm and cool.

Of the new batch, lamp-life has been perhaps a touch shorter than other brands I have tried, but on the other hand, the bulbs are very easy to insert and remove without broken glass or bent pins more than I can say for other brands.

Ok, I bought both these headlamps through Amazon so, service and delivery were equally satisfactory.

I wanted to buy one of each so my kids would have one and I would have one when we're out hunting. ...so far, they've been used to search the cellar for hunting gear and locate frogs. From the little bit that _I_ have been able to use them, I'll post my thoughts and you will have to make the decision on what qualities are most important to you. For, they are both great headlamps.

To establish what I'm comparing:

Princeton Tec Remix single Maxbright LED (white) and 3 Ultrabright LEDs (green) rated at Power: 70 Lumens

Streamlight 61081 Trident HP Headlamp with 1-White and 3-Green LEDS LED rating: 2000 candela peak beam intensity; 50-Lumen

Brightness: Ok, this is probably the most cut and dry topic. I'm not up on the technical talk of comparing lumes or whatever..I just wanted to know how bright these were. Streamlight is, by far, the winner in this category. Even on its low subdued (green) setting, it was brighter than the Remix on High. If lower power is necessary for you, this would be a negative against the Trident. For me, I wanted some power. For perspective, I could spotlight (white) a tree 150yds out with the Trident whereas the Remix died out between 60-75yds. Perhaps that's what the "peak beam" means....anyhow, Streamlight is much brighter.

Size: Remix 2.92 ounces vs. Trident 8 ounces. Ok, so this is the most cut and dry. However, I won't say that the Trident felt heavy or awkward. If you're running, you'll probably want the Remix. Walking to a treestand or bloodtrailing....who really cares? It wasn't a factor for me.

Comfort: Again, here I was surprisingly pleased with the Trident. The Remix is the most comfortable, but at less than half the weight, it's a given. The Trident has a nice padded backing on it to make it very comfortable for its size. I haven't tried the alternate strap that comes with it (similar to the one the Remix comes with). You'll have a reverse Mohawk, but if I've been hunting, I don't care what people think afterwards. To prevent talking exclusively about the Trident, I'll say that the Remix is one that you could forget about having on your head....it's that comfortable.

Stealth: I know it sounds like I'm handing everything to Streamlight on this review, but this may be the game changer. When adjusting the light head, the Trident has the WORST clicking noise I've ever heard on a headlamp. Yes, it will adjust the beam, but unless you're already busted or noise discipline is not an issue, adjust this to the position you'll want it and LEAVE IT ALONE!!! I'm yet to find any way to quietly adjust the head. The Remix...short and sweet, it's silent and prety solid in the adjustments. That's to say that when you silently adjust, it locks into positions so you won't be bouncing around.

Ease of use: The Remix has a hold process where you turn on and hold the button to activate the high beam. Probably pretty simple, but if it's already on (low) and you want to go to high, you have to turn Off, then on (and hold) to get high beam. Mildly inconvenient but efficient. Trident is straightforward. Low subdued, High subdued, crazy bright white. You have to cycle through, but how hard is it to cover the light with your hand to turn it off?

Misc: On a final parting note, be mindful of where you store these headlamps in your hunting pack. It may be obvious already, but these are easy to accidentally turn on. The Remix is proably less prone to this than the Trident, but it's just something you want to watch out for.

Hope this helps in making a decision. I'll just say that I'm very pleased with both lights and glad that I have them both for the purposes they'll serve. These are both very high quality lights.

This light is far superior to any of the other's that I have had, including one other Streamlight. The green modes are campground friendly and easier on the livestock's eyes at evening feed time. The high beam is much brighter than the other's that I have used. It actually serves a purpose, and a mighty fine one I must say. The battery life holds up very well. Thanks alot Streamlight!

I have three Ikea 12V lamps pointed to 3 plants in my windowless office room, and those three plants living off of these three lamps (and the fluorescent lamps in the day time) for past 6 months or so. They are not extremely happy without sunlight. But they are surviving with the yellowish light produce by these bulbs.

Replacement g4 bulb costs more than $3 in Ikea and they last the same amount of hours as these roughly 350 hours or so. These lights are equally bright and all 10 works.

Although there were only 3 customer reviews here and a few more for the same item sold without the accessories -I find it hard to believe that I received the same light.

The lumen output of the light I received was less than Ultrafire Wf-502b Cree Xm-l T6 Led 5 Mode Focus Flashlight Black (which I tested at about 350 lumens)

And not comparable to Klarus XT11 LED Flashlight w/ CREE XM-L U2 LED 600 Lumens, Military Grey Finish KLARUS-XT11 which I used as a reference standard for a 600 lumen test using an inexpensive light meter and no zoom (the Klarus does not zoom). I held the meter in the center of the Klarus beam and stepped away (about 15 feet) until the meter read 600 lumens.

The Cree XM-L only reached about 250 lumens at minimum zoom

In fact, at full zoom the "Cree XM-L T6 1600" reached 600 lumen, but so did "FordEx Group 300lm Mini Cree Led Flashlight Torch Adjustable Focus Zoom Light Lamp " which sells for about 5 or 6 bucks here.

Be assured I tested on the highest output setting, the others were proportionately less

First of all this is a very bright relatively small flashlight. You can adjust the beam width for a narrow to wide beam by sliding the head forward or backwards along the shaft. However, this light has only one brightness setting and does not have any of the following as listed in the description:

5 Mode: high / middle / low / strobe / sos /

it has one brightness setting and no strobe or sos settings. This is ok for me since I have read about other lights that use the Cree LED that have these features, and the electronics that controls these features tend to fail easily. Therefore I am hoping this light will last much longer than the lights that have the sos and strobe abilities.

Edit: I discovered you can change the function of the flashlight by turning it on and off rapidly which each new function changing after each time you turn it on.

The GOOD:

No external transformer to worry about.

Mounting the mounting stubs was easy. The LED pucks easily snap onto the stubs.

The little roller on/off click switch can be located anywhere on the power cord.

The instructions clearly document which wire of the power chord is hot and which is neutral. I very much appreciate this since I hardwired the pucks into the junction box feeding my previous (now deceased) under-counter lights.

Six pucks placed 14 inches apart slightly out-shined my previous 2xF8T5 + 2xF13T5 florescent lights. The six pucks consume 8 watts of power.

50000 hours of expected use.

Ordered on Sat afternoon; arrived on Monday morning (via Ontrac).

The BAD:

120 volts everywhere. No UL seal of approval. Be careful, particularly around water.

You have to install the little roller click switch yourself if you want your pucks to be switchable. It must switch the hot wire of the power cord.

One year warranty does not exactly match the 5.7 years of advertised use.

The UGLY:

The little roller click switch is remarkably cheap made in China for 2 cents?

My two sets of three LED pucks were clearly recycled returns from some other customers.

The cord that daisy-chains to the next puck requires a half twist so your cords are not going to lay flat!

The label on the back says "Made in China". (I have a rear shot of it under "puck4U" at tinyurl.) I was hoping for this price that I was getting high quality, long-lasting LED pucks. For now, I remain optimistic, but skeptical.

Maxim's Undercounter LED are easy to install and uses a fraction of electricity. The old Fluorescent lights always hummed and burn out after a few months. But the LED Puck lights lasts for years!

I bought these to replace expensive-to-own fluoroscent pucks that were roughly the same size. They use the exact same electrical connections so installation was very easy. I have had them less than a month but they are adequate for the job.

It it now a month later and one of the pucks has failed. I contacted the seller Wayfair who refused to take the item back (it is 10 days too late). They referred me to the manufacturer who in turn, referred me back to Wayfair ("not me, not me"). I would not recommend buying from this vendor as their customer service is lacking.

I purchased this item in early February to decorate our nursery since is a butterfly theme. I started using it in May once our daughter came home from the hospital. It stopped working in June so I figured it could have just had a misconnection someplace. Tonight my husband took it apart and tested the circuts and they are not producing enough energy to light the three LED lights that light up the butterfly. It is a beautiful and unique nightlight when it works but I was very dissapointed that it was broken in a month. I would not recommend this item if you are looking for a nightlight that lasts.

I ordered two of these as Christmas gifts for young children, one of whom has a currently pregnant mom. I thought she'd like to have it in her child's room or the new nursery. Well, you wouldn't know this unless you clicked on the link for Californa residents... but when I opened the box I was mortified to see a large warning on the package. The base contains lead!!! And it is enough lead that they advise you not to let children touch it. And I'm sure mom-to-be wouldn't want to be anywhere near it either. And for that matter, I wouldn't go near it either.

No matter how pretty or fantastic it looks, it should NOT be purchased as a gift for a child or an expectant mother. Apparently the concentration of lead is high enough for them to put a very large sticker on the outside of the package, warning people not to handle the base. What? Seriously?

I promptly returned both of them, and I'm hoping that the seller will also refund the eleven bucks that it cost me to send them back (on top of the ten bucks I paid in shipping them TO me).

Crazy... this product should be taken off the market altogether. Or made with non-toxic materials.

I was so excited to get this in my stocking. I collect butterflies and purple is my favorite color.

But BEWARE!!!! Mine started on fire! It was plugged into a normal outlet and wasn't left on for long periods of time. After 4 months or so I smelled a burning smell and the plastic was melting with a tiny flame.

Not safe to use and I will never have one again!

I bought this lamp to add a little light to an area that was dark near my computer. I use it daily without any problems. The LED is very bright and works well as a spotlight, however I had to rig up a reflector/diffuser to use it to brighten, as it really is only a spotlight. I may buy another one to put on my bedside table for late night reading. There has been a few times where the light just goes out for no reason, but throwing the switch on/off fixes it easily, a little annoying but not a big deal. I am concerned if the LED ever goes out if I can find some kind of replacement bulb for it, as I dont see any way of doing so.

IKEA should be ashamed of this product. I managed to get the switch apart. Poor design and easily fixed. Just bend the metal strip so when the switch is on it makes better contact. It's that simple. I suspect that within a few months the metal strip will need to be bent again. Naturally after fixing it the switch looks terrible! Please note it was hard to pry apart the switch because the plastic is fused top/bottom on the inside posts. It's easy to slip the edge of a thin knife in the side of the switch but getting the top and bottom apart is the hard part. Disclaimer: unplug the wire from the wall and if you try this fix you assume all risk.

Good quality LED type lamp, very bright, BUT very directed light focus where the lamp head is pointed. Good book reading, studying, or computer surfing light. DOES NOT do a great job lighting up a room....more of a bright reading light.

This is a nice, focused lamp for $10 at Ikea, but the on/off switch is a piece of Chinese garbage. I bought two of these, and both had bad switches within 2 months. First it would flicker, then finally fail. Since I'm an electronic engineer, I could and did replace the switch with a decent quality switch from Radio shack, but the average person would have trouble with this. Since it is a LED lamp, you cannot reverse the polarity of the wires going to the lamp without damage, so beware if you replace your own switch on this unit. Too bad they use such a cheap qaulity switch. Otherwise, I like the lamp for reading and spot light type uses.
