I bought my first set of these lights about 8 years ago for my previous home. They worked perfectly the entire time. I never had to replace a bulb. Of course, when I sold the home, they went with it. Now I'm building my new home, and I'm having the builder pre-wire for 4 of these bad boys.
What do I like about them?
1) Clean white, cool light. No shadows (within the confines of its designed coverage space; the bulb lenses are designed to overlap the light at counter top level).
2) Three (3) light level settings (I call them High, Medium and Night Light)! When I have these lights on their lowest setting, it's really quite dramatic.
Usage tip:
1) Don't let the hinged bulb cover freak you out when it falls open. The cover has "pins" on each end that slide on a slot and rest on a flat surface to hold it up (closed). Occasionally, before I figured it out, the cover would drop down while I was changing the light setting (it's an easy-to-use push button; just keep pushing it to rotate between Off, High, Medium, and Night Light). My hand would rub over the cover, moving it off its resting place and it would drop (it's hinged, of course, so it just flops forward), making me think I was in a bad movie. :)
Final verdict? Buy them. You'll never regret it.
