It's OK, not too bad, not as bright as add claims, but bright enough to see a raccoon in a tree 300' away and blind him. The focus is nice and is mostly effective but you can see the shape of the LED at full zoom, kind of cheep, but works.

LIGHT IS WELL CONSTRUCTED, BUT I HAS ONE DEFECT.....THE SWITCH DOES NOT WORK PROPERLY. I WILL COME ON AT TIMES AND WHEN IT DOES IT WANTS TO JUST FLASH....RECHARGED THE BATTERIES BUT THAT DIDN'T HELP.....WOULDN'T PURCHASE ANOTHER ONE. WOULD LIKE TO GET REPLACEMENT BUT HAVEN'T FIGURED OUT HOW TO DO THAT AS YET.

This is a great flashlight!

The size of the flashlight surprised me because I was expecting it to be the same size as a AA battery flashlight. It is not. These 18650 batteries are the first ones of their kind I have seen, and they are much bigger than AA's.

AA Battery = 2"long by 1/2 dia. and 1.5V

these 18650 are 2 1/2" long by 3/4" dia. and 3.7V

The storage life of the charged battery is long enough that if you charge extra batteries at the same time you will have a quick changeover on hand to slip in.

The flashlight has a substancial feel to it and while it is not a small flashlight, it is not big like a 2-C battery light would be. The head feels heavier than the body and it is made with the type of ruggedness that you could use it in self defense if you were in a tight spot. It is too big for an average purse, but will fit easily into a glove compartment or a small bed-side drawer. It comes with an attached lanyard (strap) and can hang by the door for outside forays in the dark.

I was concerned with the usability of this light because of all the settings available. I would hate to go through every setting just to get back to the one I want. Fortunately you don't have that problem.... Turn it off and on again quickly to change settings, starting at high. When you next turn it on, it will turn on again at high. No running through all the options. The only one I use is the first one..., HIGH! It turns darkness into bright daylight in a pretty wide area. I have never seen a more brilliant flashlight.

The zoom function is easy also... no turning or fussing. Just push the lense holder out or pull it back.

All in all, the feel, look and function of this flashlight is great. I will be buying more of these babies for gifts.

Note on charging batteries: I had 2 chargers and sets of batteries. I charged bothe sets at once. One set finished in 1 1/2 hours and one set finished in 3 hours. So either way, it doesn't take that long.

This flashlight was bigger than I expected, but that was probably because it takes 2 batteries. I use this with the Two Fish bike holder and it works great at night.
