Part of the reason why this product is so inexpensive is because it comes with no instructions and very few specifications. With this kit, that's not such a problem because everything is plug and go, but with individual strips, I could see it being one. A couple lessons learned:

* Don't let the red/black leads at the end of the roll touch. That will cause the circuit to bypass all of the LEDS. I cut mine and the last piece of 3 LEDs off entirely.

* Don't expect to be able to bend them sideways. Like a plastic ruler, these are only flexible in one direction.

* Feel free to fold them -they'll still work. Just realize that if you fold them back and forth too many times, the traces will break, just like anything else metal.

As said before, this strip takes closer to 15W. The plug is the 5.5mm type (commonly called 5mm).

My biggest gripe is that the dimmer doesn't have a little plastic line or any numbers to show you what dim setting you're at. I bought five of these for a library unit, and it's very difficult to get all five dimmed to the same brightness. They are indeed closer to white than I expected, but since they're against stained oak, mine glowed much more yellow once installed. I'll add images shortly.

Other missing specs! The strip is 8mm wide and 2mm thick at any LED. It is 16' 5" plus the leads I cut off. The solder pads joining every 10 3-LED strips (so, between every 30 LEDs on this 300 LED strand) are large enough to solder onto by hand with a little skill. There's 12" of cord between the LED strip and its plug. The PWM dimmer has 6 inches of cord/plug on each side of it. There's 58" of cord after the AC adapter; [48" of cord between the AC adapter and the wall.

Luckily they worked for my project.

The led lights are brighter than I anticipated. The dimmer is great for adjusting the light level. In order to connect spliced sections I just soldered them together using low voltage wire. When ordering make sure of two things. 1.Order from led wholesalers. Received item early and always correct and packed nicely. (I have ordered 4 sets from them). 2. Always check the Ks (ie. 3100k) to ensure it is the type of light you want. I learned the hard way and got bright white 5000k instead of 3100k. Warm white light.

Very nicely done product with pleasant, not yellowish or bluish light. Just warm, early sunset-like white color. Strip comes with adhesive back (made by 3M, so very strong), and power connector one end. It gives really nice light padding to my hall, but do not expect it to be your main light sourcethis is just decorative light.

While package states 5W of power, this strip actually consumes about 1.35A at 12V voltage, so total power consumption is 15W, not 5W.

Overall, I liked this led strip very much, so going to order more, to light up other rooms, too.

I attached the whole roll to a 7 by 23 inch board cover in aluminum foil. It makes a fine under counter light. I am ordering a second kit. The only thing I could not figure out was how to cut and reattach, so my corners lift up some. But it works fine. And it works with a motion sensor.

The whole strip draws 1.38A on the 12V side. This equates to roughly 17watts. I didn't measure the draw from wall socket but the power supply/adapter will draw slightly more than 17w but I doubt it's 24w. The adapter that came with the strip is rated 3A so it could power no more than 2 full strips (10m). BUT I would not advise to connect the strips end to end as drawing almost 3A through the small flexible circuit strip will potentially fry it. To do 10m just connect the power supply in the "middle" running a strip off in each direction from the power connection. ANOTHER CAVEAT: The included dimmer is only rated 2A so it may not be able to dim 10m regardless of configuration. It does say 12-24V so assuming it can handle a worst case of 2A at 24V it MIGHT handle 3A at 12V.

The strip is very bright and has a warm yellow glow which is perfect for in home lighting. If your strip has a green or any other color other than white/yellow then the strip is defective or more likely you are using something higher than a 12V power supply as LEDs change color when over powered before burning out.

I have not installed the strip yet as the cabinets are not installed yet so only time will tell on longevity, 3M stickiness, and durability. For the price and my initial assessment these cannot be beat by any locally available lighting product. The only con is that there is no way to mount the dimmer. You could use double sided sticky foam or, if you mount it so you can still access the bottom, you could open the case and screw it down from the inside then reattach the cover.

EDIT: The dimmer I received was white, not black like the picture.

EDIT2: Purchased a second set and received a slightly different power supply. It is rated 4A instead of 3A but feels much cheaper. It is hollow and light weight. Definitely not potted. Has Chinese characters on it. Did work when I tested it for 10 seconds but I would not trust it running very long anywhere near 4A. This is no problem for us as we are using 4 total power supplies between the 10m.

EDIT3: The description of these lights has changed since my edit2. They were 3825 or 3528 or whatever that number was for the LED size. They are now indicated as 2026WW. This would lead me to believe they are now shipping smaller and a less bright strip.
