As a previous ALA certified lighting specialist, I especially appreciate this product and the description associated with it.

Quick lesson along with the review for those not familiar.

It is a 50W lamp (or bulb). The more wattage that passes through a bulb, the brighter it gets. ... and the more electricity it burns. Consider this when making your choice.

MR16 bulbs are bi-pin, directional bulbs which push into the socket. GU10 refers to the fact that this bi-pin pushes into the socket AND twists into place.

Some fixtures, like track lighting, that use this type of bulb have their own glass lenses. If that is your case, look for a bulb without a lense cover. As advertised, this bulb has a lense cover.

This bulb is engineered for "line voltage" or 120 volts. Other MR16 bulbs can be built for Low voltage, usually 12 volts. Be sure to get the right kind for your fixture or you are wasting your money.

This bulb says that its average life is 4000 hours. That is about 2x the life expectancy of other bulbs I found on the market. Major ups for that.

Lastly, and very importantly, the beam spread of this bulb is 36 degrees. This is one of the widest flood bulbs that you can buy. If a bulb says flood, but doesn't tell me how wide of a beam spread angle it has... I'm not convinced. "Flood" can typically mean anything from 25 degrees to 40 degrees. In this instance, I needed a wide spread of light so as to not create a spotlight effect in my kitchen. This worked PERFECTLY!!!!

The only thing not mentioned in the description was the lumen output... the actual amount of light produced. For my needs, it was plenty of light.

Final Thoughts: This bulb was the only option that I saw on Amazon which specifically listed the specs that were important to me. To me, it was important to know exactly what I was getting instead of risking the possibility of getting an inferior bulb or too narrow of a beam spread just to save a dollar or two. And I still saved about $15-$20 over my local big box store. I am extremely happy with this purchase.

I originally use Philips bulbs. Recently changed to this. It's not as white (more orangish/reddish than white) and bright as the ones I used to have. One thing to note is that the surface of the bulb is not flat it has a little bulge. So if you need a bulb with 100% flat surface, this is not for you. I barely manage to fit it into the UV filter I have for my light fixture.

This product is exactly what it says it is, but I wish I'd looked at the description or picture more closely.

These work perfectly for what they are intended for, but note that the beam is rather narrow (36") and that the inside coating is reflective, rather than translucent. I bought these for a chandelier with translucent glass shields, and I didn't realize that translucent bulbs are really important for this use. These reflect a greater amount of light towards the subject and thus less into the rest of the room through the translucent glass. But that was my bad, not the bulbs. The bulbs are, as I said, exactly what they say they are and I didn't sufficiently appreciate what I should have for my application.

I bought these bulbs because the ones I had burned out. The original ones in the light fixture were actually GU10+. Apparently it's a little different. These give a kind of reddish glow that the other lights didn't. If you've had these before for your light fixtures, then I'm sure they are fine, but for me it wasn't quite what I had hoped for... But the price was DEFINITELY right. The company that sold these had the best rate, so it was worth the slight red tint.

They came well packaged and seem exactly like the more pricey brands. I have had them in use for a couple weeks without a problem.
