I am a collector of gear, and I love great LED lights, I also ride a bike and do some mild touring. I was looking for a powerful bikelight but did not want to overdue it and run through alot of expensive batteries. this light seemed to be a good deal and I got two... regretfully. The build quality is very poor. The lens housing of one came cross-threaded to the body and was manufactured incorrectly. It was loose and rattles around because the reflector does not fit properly against it... definitely not waterproof. Besides those odd problems the build quality is poor overall. the switch feels very cheap and the light output is right around 90 lumens at most, very similar output to the mini maglite LED, which is rated at 63 lumens I believe. I have a 300 lumen off brand six dollar light that I also purchased from amazon. The output on that is easily 2-3 times greater than these bike lights and the build quality is also better. This light is a ripoff at thirteen dollars. everybody makes a mistake from time to time. This light was mine. There is much better out there keep shopping please.
I will test the non defective light and update my review if I have good reason to.

Despite having mounted and assembled dozens of parts for my bikes over the years (including pannier bags and racks that I mail ordered) I could not get this bike light to mount properly on my TREK touring bike. The second week I was using it, the pin dropped out of the holder (the stupid thing was really hard to screw together) and I couldn't find it anymore.Beyond the mount not working, the light is not very handy for biking. It has only 2 settings "super bright" and off. Overall cheap quality, cheap finish. I would not recommend this product to anyone.

This is the brightest light I found that still took batteries and looked like it could take some tough bike rides.Im pleased with the light it puts off and have been thinking about buying 2 more one for my boyfriends bike and my sons.
One thing I do not like about it is the plastic screw that holds the light on the bike. Its cheap and I know I will soon be replacing it with something stronger. If you put one hundreds of miles a year or do tough rides with rough surface then I would suggest you replace the screw or look for another type of headlight.

Very bright and compact. Works great on my Schwinn Racer and replaces the retro headlight and generator. The clamp holds well, no tools required.
