I have a multitude of color changing LED fixtures throughout the house (flood light in the garden, strip light backlighting the bar, bulb in uplight canister, etc.), but this is definitely the brightest I've yet to find. Currently have two in operation; the first in a chandelier hung towards the living room window, and controlled nightly by a timer (it always turns on to whatever setting I last had it on), and the second in a chandelier over the shower, bright enough to be a task light, or mellow enough to be a mood light.

You can also see from my attached pictures the range with which the bulb projects.

If that doesn't convince you to order one (or more) of these right now, let me conclude with two more facts: I'm gay, and I used to be a theatrical lighting designer, thus I know of what I speak.

This is a nice light bulb that I put into the category of a novelty light bulb. What that means to me is that it is good for parties, a mood light, a lamp on your bar, a specialty light to light up a room with the color and ambiance that you want. It is a 10 watt LED bulb that has the lighting brightness of about a 45 watt incandescent light bulb. We tested the lamp for a long time and it never really got hot as the base is a solid aluminum heat sink to dissipate the heat.

This is a unique bulb that has a lot of special features. It is a 10 watt LED bulb that comes with a remote control that allows you to change the color output of the bulb. You can also dim or make each color brighter using the remote control. The bulb and also be programmed to smoothly cycle through the colors automatically, fade, strobe or flash through every color. The different special effects were nice and they all worked well. Controlling the bulb is via an IR remote controller that allows you to set any one of 15 colors plus a white light. The remote controller can control multiple bulbs.

In the white mode the white light is created by lighting the red, green and blue LEDs at the same time and the top of the bulb looks like that (Three colors) and the light is not really white. The camera sees it as white but the human eye sees the multicolored top of the bulb. The shadows of the white light can show the RGB colors around object in the room. As a unique multicolor bulb it is really special and that is where this bulb shines. I put together a video and as you can see the bulb performed in all 15 colors and in the white mode. I even compared its brightness to several other just white light bulbs for your information.

The remote worked well and all of the functions worked on it. The remote has to be carefully aimed at the bulb but you could get any color or intensity that you wanted. You can dim the bulb or brighten the bulb in any color. When we switched colors the new color matched the brightness of the previous setting. You can turn off the light with the remote control and when you turn it back on with the remote it returns to the same color and mode it was in when you shut it off.

As a specialty bulb having the ability to display many colors and intensities then this bulb is a 5 star. It is not recommended by me for a reading lamp and it simply is not bright enough. It would be good on a deck, bar, as a party light, used in a show booth at an exposition or just as a mood light in your home.

I was supplied a sample for test and evaluation and I only promised a fair and honest review.

These lights are great! They work exactly as described. NOTE: The remote controls ALL of the functionality of the bulb, so don't lose it!!!

The colors are great. One of the blue shades is almost black-light blue, it's crazy! The reds and yellows are beautiful. During some mixing modes, you can see multiple colors being projected through the shadows of the light, which I'm sure is how the bulb mixes the colors--but this is not a bad thing. For example, the white light setting is a combination of a variety of colors, and in the shadows of the light you can make out green and red shades. But again, this is not a bad thing.

The construction of the bulb is good, comparable to other LED bulbs you'd get at Home Cheapo or other home supply companies. I cannot comment on the length of the life of the bulb, as I got mine a few days ago.

The features of the bulb appear to be great, though I've only messed around with the different colors and the brightness settings. As other reviewers have said, the brightness button needs to be held down for a while to work.

I really enjoy mood lighting, and one of these in a decent size room at full brightness is plenty to give your room a great hue of whatever color you choose. And yes, you can read by the yellow or white light setting...

COULD be brighter, but hey, I could also make more a year, too...A great product overall!

Honest reviews on Brightech Kuler Bulb - 10-Watt Color Changing LED Light Bulb

I couldn't believe how high of quality these things were. I bought two bulbs and each bulb came with a remote. The remote looks cheap but it works flawlessly. One remote works with as many bulbs as you have. They're amazing and pretty dang bright for 10W

I got the one from Lowes, initially

That one was not bright enough. In fact, it was just flat out pretty dim.

It's powered at 6.5 watts, where as this is 10, almost twice as much. The one at Lowes didn't say how many watts it took up, which I find stupid but anyway...

This would be the perfect light if

-it was less splotchy. The one from lowes was an even color in all colors, but the white on this bulb is a combination of colors that add up to white, and you can see splotches of blue, green, red, etc.

-The dimmer switch is kind of a joke. I thought that it wasn't even working at first, but it turns out I have to press it about 15-20 times before I notice it's doing anything. Takes for ever to dim! Your wrist might give up before the dimness is where you want it.

I have two of these, and 1 remote controls both via the included infrared remote.

Another problem can arise because many remotes are infrared.

I have a couple remotes for other things that are, and sometime the "play" button on that, will turn these lights red, or something like that. So that's something to be aware of...

First world problems though, right? Too many infrared remotes for all of my gadgets...well at least you can aim these things pretty accurately, and you can just change one bulbs color if you aim directly at one, or sort of in the middle to change both at the same time.

I think I covered everything! I'm going to try hooking up a dimmer switch to these so that I don't have to use the built in dimmer switch, because it just flat out sucks!

4 stars :) brightness was a priority over the other little complaints I had, so I'll be keeping this one instead, as it's 10 bucks cheaper and brighter.

***Edit; the dimming is better than I thought. You hold it down for a couple seconds, and then it goes! Colors are still splotchy though, I don't think I'll be able to figure that one out.
