I ordered these LED bulb replacements for our kitchen overhead lighting and stove hood. They were $73.50 ($10.50 x 7) but will pay for themselves many times over. They are rated to last as long as 60 years at our current use (~4 hours/day) and they use 1/3 the electricity of the halogens which they are replacing. Our CT electricity is $.25/kwhr. They should save us ~$42/yr in electricity and ~$17.50/yr in replacement costs of the halogens that are lasting a little less than 2 years and cost $5 at home depot.
Even more exciting for us is that they'll keep the kitchen cooler. Our halogen bulbs had nice light, but they felt like you were working underneath heat lamps. This light is comparable and makes for a much more comfortable kitchen cooking experience.
They are a little longer than the standard halogens and fortunately for us, this doesn't really make any difference in our light fixtures.
I had not noticed the green hue described in another review. Upon reading the review, I can see how they are more green than the halogens I replaced, but I think they're slightly closer to a natural sunlight (of which I am a fan).
We are using our old slide dimmer and it dims pretty well, but the lights start to turn off at about 1/3 of the way from the bottom of the dimmer. They don't turn off at the same point, however, which actually works well for us, because I can leave 3 of 5 on very low or 1 of 5 on, etc.

From the listing these bulbs were exactly what I was looking for I purchased two of them to test. The first issue I encountered was the bulbs are approximately .50" longer than a standard GU10 halogen bulb, thus they protruded beyond the end of the track fixtures I installed them in (shame on me for not measuring a standard GU10 bulb first). As far as the light goes, at full brightness these are "passable", however they do have a greenish hue to them once you dim them this is even more apparent. If you enjoy the warm glow of dimmed incandescent bulbs look elsewhere (I believe this is true of LED lighting in general). These are fine for a closet, basement or utility room. Also, be sure to invest in an LED/CFL type dimmer to provide better dimming capability, standard dimmers result in a "stepped" effect and cut out as opposed to a smooth transition.
