I bought two of these for my front flowerbeds. The description of the light says it is made of metal, and it is. But the ground stake is plastic. The parts of the light that are pictured are metal but there is a piece not shown that the neck of the light screws to and that part is plastic and is the ground stake repsonsible for holding up the light. I guess since plastic does not rust it was used but it will be interesting to see how well it stands up should a ball or something else hit the light. Changing the light bulbs require either tiny fingers or you have to use a screwdriver to remove 3 screws that hold the socket to the light shade in order to replace the bulb. I wish it was easier to change. The light is made in China also. The so-called "quick connect" couplings that are supposed to allow you a easy hook-up only work 50% of the time. I had to splice into the power wire to make a solid connection with wire nuts so that the light would stay lit.

They look good and operate fine so far but time will tell.

The kichler outdoor path light seems a fine enough product, but how a company that markets itself as a premium lighting company can sell these lights with the horrible "Quic-Connect" wire connectors is beyond me. I installed seven of these at my house and only one worked using the Quic-Connect discs. Be warned, if you buy these lights you will need to find an alternative method to wire them. I striped the wires and spliced them together using direct bury wire nuts. Then I put heat shrink tubing over the wire nuts and wires to provide strain relief and waterproofing. By the way, I also purchased a few Lowes brand outdoor spot lights and well lights for my lighting landscape. The wire connect system the Lowes brand uses is much better than Kichler and they were one third the price. Kichler you should do better!

I purchased 5 of these about a month ago for my front yard, and liked them so much I just added 3 more in my back yard. Although they aren't cheap in my opinion the quality is really great for the price. I have mostly Focus Industries fixtures in my back yard installed by my landscape contractor, so I looked into those first. The equivalent Focus fixture was over $200 each (YIKES!), so forget that. I tried some $20 Malibu "Professional Grade" fixtures as an experiment let's just say you get what you pay for so those went back to Home Depot. I have Kichler outdoor lighting fixtures on my house that I like very much, so I decided to try these. They were a great choice the same quality as the Focus fixtures at a fraction of the price.

The "quick connect" fittings, while much better quality than Malibu's, are still flaky. I tried them on a couple of the fixtures as an experiment. Sometimes they work on the first try, other times you have to try over and over to get a good connection. I highly recommend tossing them in the trash and buying some water-tight wire nuts to make a secure, reliable connection.

The other negative (and the reason I gave them 4 stars instead of 5) is in order to change the bulbs you have to unscrew three screws from under the cap and remove it entirely to get to the bulb. Luckily they do provide xenon bulbs so at least you shouldn't have to change the bulbs very often.

Great product. It arrived timely and was easy to install. the quick connects are a good idea, but still need a little work to get them to work flawlessly. overall, we are very satisfied with the lights and would buy them again.

I purchased four of these lights last summer for my new paver patio and fire pit. They are a nice height and color. Also, they come with a nice long stake which is good for keeping the light where you want it. I live in Iowa and with the freezing and thawing, they did not move. We've been please and I am getting ready to buy a couple more for the front now.

My only negative with these lights is the connectors to the main power line. I've installed two other kinds at my previous homes (off the shelf stuff from Lowes), and they were much easier to do than the Kichler lights.
