I have had to revise this review four times now, as more and more of these have failed.

The point of LED lights is that they should last a long time ...

But now, ALL FIVE of these I bought have failed, and after only a couple months of use.

Absolutely unacceptable!

I cannot discourage you from buying these strongly enough!

I wanted to use these to replace 40 Watt R14 incandescent reflector bulbs over a kitchen table because they take a lot less energy and should last a lot longer. This bulb is much more directional than an R14 so, if the bulb is pointing down, the light that goes up is much less than the R14 and the light that goes down is actually more than you get from a 40W R14. The specs listed on Amazon are contradictory and the product labeling doesn't help. It is called a 9W bulb because the light comes from 3, 3W LED's. In the description, it says the power consumption is 6.5W and I measured it at under 4W. Contrary to the height listed, the bulb measures 2.5" from the tip of the screw base to the middle of the flat side where the light comes out. The color of the light is definitely cooler than the R14 I'm replacing and has a hint of green. The color is warmer than a cool white fluorescent bulb. The light also blinks on and off with the AC power more than a fluorescent fixture with a magnetic ballast and I find it slightly annoying because it produces a slight stroboscopic effect when you look at moving objects under the light. I have posted a product picture that shows an R14 along with this bulb and also demonstrates the stroboscopic effect. All in all, it's an O.K. product but not great.

Honest reviews on LED E27 Dimmable 9w Warm White Rotundity Cree E27 LED Light 3*3w 9w

Just got this today. Color was closer to 6000K than the advertised 3000K.

Lower lumen output than a 25w incandescent.

Either I was shipped the wrong item or the product specifications listed above are incorrect.

Hey Amazon Folks Jan 2013 I purchased several different (supposedly) dimmable LED lights, ranging from 5w to 9w; wanted something "energy efficient" to replace 50w halogen spotlight/floodlight bulbs; ordered from several vendors on Amazon. Generally, they're all disappointing. Why? LED lights:

(1) Are NOT bright enough (about as like a 15w-20w incandescent, or a tiny CFL,

(2) Have a white color that's too "cold" (great if you want to drive people away!),

(3) All but one could only be "on" or "off," even if they're sold as "dimmable," and

(4) Seemed to all have about the same light output, even though I bought 5w, 6w, and 9w LED lights.

Besides wasting about $75, here's what I tried, ranked from least miserable to most miserable:

* LED Light bulb SpotLight 6 Watt, Warm White Replacement for Standard Household Base E26/E27 60 Watt Incandescent Light Bulb = the least miserable among those I tried--dim, color almost a warm white, and actually dimmable.

* LED E27 Dimmable 9w Cool White Rotundity Cree E27 LED Light 3*3w 9w Lamp Bulb 110v-265v = dim, cold white, not dimmable.

* LED E27 Dimmable 9w Warm White Rotundity Cree E27 LED Light 3*3w 9w Lamp Bulb 110v-265v = dim, cold white, not dimmable.

* High Power E27 5W AC 85 ~ 265V Input LED Spot Light Warm White Energy Saving LED Light Bulb Replacement = dim, cold white, not dimmable.

* NowAdvisor® High Power E27 5W AC 85 ~ 265V Input LED Spotlight Bulb Warm White = dim, cold white, not dimmable.

* E27 4w 110v 3000k Warm White LED Spotlight = died within seconds of being turned on.

LED bulbs are getting better, but, for indoor home use, they're still not as good as incandescent or CFL. However, there're fine to use as dim lights to leave on most of the time (like outside my garage).

Bottom line advice: Save your money, wait for next generation LED bulbs.

Cheers
