This device can quickly end the timeless argument between man and woman as to whether or not the seat should be left up or down. After my girlfriend had a bit of an "incident" in the middle of the night (i.e. failing to check that the ring seat was down before proceeding), it quickly solidified my desire to purchase this product.

I bought two (one for her place, one for mine) and although her initial reaction was one of horror, as they seem a bit tacky, she has fallen in love with them. The best aspect of these bad boys is that you no longer need to blind yourself in the middle of the night, as the green/red LED lights are soft enough to avoid retinal shock yet provide enough light to do your business. Highly recommended... I'll probably be using these as stocking stuffers for the next 10 years (I pity you if you're on my gift list).

Not only does the LavNav double as both a motion sensing night light on your toilet so it doesn't wake you up on those late night trips to the latrine, it also easily lets you know whether or not the seat is up by lighting up either red for up or green for down. Comes with solid 3m tape so it won't slip off and into your toilet bowl. That thing is really stuck on there! Batteries are also easy to install and change. Takes 2 double A.

Installation recommendation for placement:

Put your toilet seat up and place the LavNav under the toilet seat up against the top cover of the toilet seat so that the seat sensor detects the seat but allows the seat to lie flush against the toilet seat cover as normal. I made the mistake of not doing this the first time which resulted in me placing the device too high on the back toilet seat cover so when the toilet seat cover closed it rested on the LavNav against the toilet seat. By installing it with the toilet seat up you'll get PERFECT placement every time.

This is a great product for any tech geek. So nice to wake up in the middle of the night and not being blinded by turning on the rest room light. This product gives a soft glow bright enough to shine the way. Has a sensor so you don't have to worry about looking for a switch and automatically turns off after 2 minutes. Great buy!

This really works as advertised. My wife, for obvious reasons, loves it. The light at night does not hurt your eyes and it teaches my 5-yr old son (and his Dad) proper "potty etiquette".

I'd give it five stars but since I dropped it in the bowl, it no longer works. It won't fall off on it's own but due to it's proximity to various water sources, I would have liked it to be a little more water-resistant. I will buy another one.

Tip: When you pull it off the lid to change the batteries, keep a good grip on it and don't change the batteries over the toilet bowl.
