So I bought a new light fixture only to find it has these GU24 fittings. These adapters work perfectly in allowing you to use any standard base bulb in the fixture instead of the hard to find CFLs with the GU24 base. They will save you good money in being able to buy what you want instead of the GU24. (Note: Some GU24 fixtures could be designed not to handle regular incandescents because of being designed for the cooler CFLs). Even so if you use these adapters you will be able to buy CHEAPER and much more readily available CFLs or LEDs. There are ZERO LEDs available in GU24.

DIMMERS: Because my fixture is on a dimmer switch, I had to find dimmable CFLs with GU24, and NONE were available in any local HW or electrical supply. Online none of the dimmable GU24s had good ratings. So I used these adapters and installed the Philips LED 75w equivalents, which are outstanding dim full range with no flicker.

Some tradesmen unknowingly installed an outdoor fixture that had the "ill advised" California-law bayonet bulb socket in it. The fixture was from Lowes, but Lowes did not sell the bayonet bulbs! Had to buy a bulb at a lamp shop for $5. After that bulb failed I said "no more" and looked to either find an adapter or change the whole light fixture. Found this on Amazon and problem solved. It does take up an inch or so inside the fixture, so make sure you have enough room for the compact fluorescent bulb AND the adapter. Now I can use the cheaper bulbs-all this hassle thanks to ever-green and never-practical California EPA laws.

THIS DEFINATELY HELPED ME CHANGE THE BULBS TO GET THE DESIRED EFFECT IN MY ROOM. I LOVED THE LIGHT FIXTURE BUT HATED THE LOOK OF THE BULBS THAT YOU HAD TO USE. DEFINATELY WOULD RECOMMEND THIS AS LONG AS YOU TAKE INTO EFFECT THAT YOU NEED A LITTLE MORE ROOM FOR THE BULB TO FIT.

Bought it for a Hunter ceiling fan to be able to use regular bulbs, works flawlesly, it should be included as an alternative on all new fixtures featuring the GU24 socket
