We've got GU24 fixtures for outside lights on our house. They came with 23W CFLs, which we found to be way too bright for our neighborhood (and because we've got 4 of them on the front of our house). In addition, our light "switches" are all UPB (Universal Powerline Bus), which means that they're actually dimmers, if we choose to use them that way. So, I was delighted to find these. I bought a couple to try out.
Just to be clear I really like them. However, when I put one in on the other side of the front door from the current 23W CFL we couldn't tell the difference. Waited a while to make sure that both had warmed up, and if we walk across the street, we could tell that the 13W (this light) was just slightly less bright than the original 23W. So, either the original lights were junk, or this one is more efficient than expected. Go figure.
As far as dimmability, these lights are pretty good. Not measuring or anything, but these can dim down to at least 40%. Maybe 30%. There's one spot at in the middle where there's some flicker, but only when the lights are cold, right after starting. (Just in case you didn't know, CFLs or any other kind of fluorescent light will start out dim in cold weather.)
Anyway, this is much better dimmability than I've ever seen on a CFL. I'm happy, and hope to see more improvements in the future.
All of the dimmable CFLs that I've read about say that performance will vary depending on the type of dimmer. My dimmer is a Powerline Control Systems WS1D standard dimmer. It *is* an electronic dimmer.

Kind of a joke to call these dimmable. They flicker at medium setting, and they have a different color of white in low setting compared to high.
