We've recently gone solar and have become very aware of our electricity consumption. One of the steps we took to reduce our usage was to where feasible, swap out incandescent and florescent lighting with LEDs. In the process, I purchased a variety of LED replacement bulbs to try out in various scenarios. We mostly ended up with Philips 2700 degree bulbs where asthetics were important.

For our outdoor fixtures on the garage and by the front courtyard gate we chose ePath Direct's 3W item shwn here because we were not concerned with color temperature only life, price and low energy consumption. For $8 and change we got two of the three low energey consumption and a good price. However, two of the three bulbs failed after about 1300 hours of use. The product description claims a 50,000 hour life so we got little for our money.

As the 30-day return period has expired, Amazon is offering only a partial credit. However, it's not worth the return shipping cost. My mistake for buying the cheapest bulb in the market.

Bought these two of these bulbs for outdoor lighting on the porch. So far so good. Provides sufficient lighting for the area, not too bright and not too dark, just great ambient light.

We had three of these to fit the sockets in the bathroom but two bulbs is what worked best or else wise we were over come and dimmed our eyes at 9 Watts total.

So two give our bathroom plenty of light and a warm Incandescent light bulb golden color.

UL listed is really the way to go but some really good stuff does not currently come with UL rating so you take your chance.
