Wow. i haven't had these long enough, yet, to comment on battery life, but I am in love!

These lights will let you pick how long the light stays on (four settings: 20, 60, or 90 seconds, or continuous), how bright the LEDs are, and when the lights become active (what ambient light level: full dark, full light, or any gradient in between).

Each one takes 4 AAA batteries to run. They are easy to set. I love it that they are so adaptable.

Because you can pick the brightness of the display, the lights are very easy on the eyes. I use mine for navigating the house while others sleep, so I've set a couple of them to a very dim level. Lovely. I would use them for night lights or for drawer lighting, but wouldn't recommend them as a primary light in the closet or pantry. (I tried one in the closet: I could see stuff, but I didn't think it was bright enough to be worthwhile.) These lights are not as harsh on the eyes as some other automatic lights I've tried: I like the soft blue color of the light.

When I was positioning one of the lights, I dropped it from a height of 5 feet. The little plastic cover for the LEDs broke, but the light itself still works perfectly. I hung it up without the cracked cover... I don't think it needs it, and the aesthetic seems to be the same without it.

When I was reading the reviews and product description, I got the impression that the lights had a magnetic mount that would allow you to stick the light to metal. That's not true (as far as I can figure out) for the ones I received. But they *do* have a metal part around the back, so two strong magnets will stick to the light for hanging purposes.

I also used some 3M Command tape to hang up one of the lights on the ceiling; that worked well. I set one of the lights on a bookshelf. The other I've propped low so it works like a path light. The way the lights are made, they can sit on the top of angled picture frames (nestled between the frame and the wall) or rest on top of some types of drawer handles. The manual shows setting the lights flat on the floor or flat on the bedside table. There are two screw holes you can use if you want a permanent mount.

The manual included some other interesting information. It says the lights will work from -5 degrees to 38 degrees Celsius and in 93% humidity. I guess the lights have a red LED warning light that will let you know when the batteries are wearing out. The manual was translated into English, but seems thorough and informative. It mentions that the lights may not work well when facing a glass door or glazing since they have a passive, infrared sensor. It also says to keep the light away from your computer and t.v. because the stand is magnetic, but that baffles me because I can't tell that it is.

I've priced other lights with fewer features that cost 40 dollars or more for just one light. I think I got a big bang for my buck, here, and am very pleased with this investment. Highly recommend!

These lights are great and work from several feet away. Nice lights and easy to use. I love these on stairs.

Not only does this light detect motion, and turn on, but you can set the brightness of it too, truly amazing. The brightness level lets you adjust the amount of light that the LEDs use, making it easy on the eyes, no shocking bright light that turns on when it detects you moving into the room, you can adjust the light so that your eyes can get used to it and use the light it puts out to find the light switch or go through the room. I truly LOVE it. It has 3 settings one for 20seconds, 60 seconds, and 90 seconds of the light staying on, this is another feature that I like, I purchased 2, one of which is used in the hallway(no wall outlet) the other in the stair case. It comes with 2 ways to attach to wall or metal. I think the maker of this light has thought of every feature to put into it, at an affordable price.

The light works great. I like the fact that you can adjust the LED intensity, amount of time the light stays on, and the sensitivity to light and dark. I'm using it in a closet and it provides enough light to see everything, top to bottom. The only undesirable aspect is that the light only stays on for the selected amount of time (20s, 60s or 90s) once it's triggered. After that designated time, the light goes off for 4-5 seconds even if you're still active in its sensor range, then comes back on for the selected amount of time again. It would be nice if it continued to sense movement while the light was activated and stayed on for the selected amount of time AFTER it no longer sensed motion. Regardless, setting the light duration to the longer time periods helps avoid this. Overall, I'm very satisfied with this purchase, and will probably purchase more for an unlit stairwell.
