I bought several 4 watt LED's (Torchstar) for our kitchen to replace 50 watt halogens and they work great but a little less bright than the 50 watt halogens. I tried this 7 watt bulb in the same fixture but it started to overheat and then turn on and off. I took it out and put it in a Malibu type landscape light. It works great in the landscape fixture. Its currently very successfully up-lighting a crape myrtle

I'm using these for landscape tree lighting. Color is a little cooler than a standard halogen but it gives off a little more light than a standard 50w halogen as well. I'm using Lighting EVER 4w versions for shrubbery. All 12 bulbs are still working and I'm using 80% less power! Plus they don't heat up the metal light fixtures to unbearable levels of heat. I also found out that there is a 2 year warranty on these lights but you will have to send them directly to the manufacturer. Purchased 3 to use as replacements for MR16 bulbs in a tracklight fixture. The two I tried both gave nice light for about 5 minutes, then they started to blink on and off. Very nice warm white and if you use in a setting which needs these colors, this is awesome. Excellent for energy savings. Not perfect standard size and indicated-too long for my application-light weren't packed very well-the lens poped off 1 unit due to tight packing
